1.The beginning of the end

On a beautiful summer day, the sun was shining, the streets were full of graduates from college running and celebrating their achievements and planning for their partys.

Among these celebrating young men and women, there was a lone figure hunched over and sulcking looking at his so called 'friends' in the crowd happily chatting about their future party, not even giving him a glance as they walked away.

The sound of cheers and glasses clinging rang out in the bar, as a group of students celebrating their graduation, we focus on the almost empty bar counter where two men sat drinking beer, a somber mood around them.

"Just ignore them, college degrees are overrated, look at me, I didn't go to college and I got a sweet job, a good apartment and a beast of a ride. Plus you know you ain't built for studying, you're street smart, you got skills in stuff most people would be lost in AND you've been responsible since you were like 10. What more do you need TOM??!!"

The young 22 year old, brown haired, 6ft1 muscled men, tried to cheer his brother up.

Tom was a tall 6ft7, 24 yo young men with long black hair and neatly trimmed beard, clear mesmerizing brown eyed, he had a Lean but big and strong muscled body, he was like a magazine model that most women would drool over, but the atmosphere around him was quite depressing at the moment.

"You know it doesn't work like that, you're a head mechanic at a big garage, you got experience in your resume since you started right after highschool, nobody's gonna hire a college drop out with barely passing grades in highschool, I...I... You know the worst part? I fcking tried men, I worked so hard, and alone because my 'friends' didn't want to bother helping and kept blowing me off...I just couldn't make it, i'm just not cut out for school, i learn better by doing something."

"Dude did you forget YOU'RE the one that thought me everything I know? from tying my shoes to fixing a car you can already do all of it....why don't you come work at the garage for a while, maybe I can help you this time instead of you always getting me out of trouble, you can even try again next year, those suckers ain't got nothin on you, you're gonna make it man-"

"I can't go back to school, after retaking the same classes 4 times without getting anything, they told me I couldn't come back-Tsk- can you believe it?"

"Well... actually yeah I can. you're kind of a dumbass when you want to-hahaha"

*Tom's POV*

I laughed with my brother Mike as he managed to lighten the mood a little, but his next question made me do a spitake and I almost choked on my beer as I heard him,

"Did you tell mom and pops about this?"

For a second I kind of regretted not spitting it in his face as he continued.

"You should tell them, even right now and get it over with"

"Are you drunk?" I asked with a perfect deadpan look as he scratched his chin an closed his eyes looking serious, "why, i'm sure they would be cool with it and understand your situation, they might even try helping you out"

suddenly we both burst out laughing histerically like lunatics.

"oh you funny-Ahahaha"

"haha-I don't know where it came from, I just couldn't help saying it- haaa"

Suddenly we hear Mike's phone ringing and as we see the caller ID, we both stopped laughing and freeze with pale faces as the phone was showing MOMMA in bold letters with two devils emojis surrounding it, we looked at each other and I quietly whisper to him, "you think she heard us ??!!", we frantically looked around, trying to see if we were being spyed on, then we turned back and my brother tentatively answered the phone,

"hey MA, how are you!...no I'm just euum- hanging out with T-""Don't tell her I'm here!!!!" I cut him off scream whispering,

he narrowed his eyes at me,"With 'TOM'" he smiled at me innocently and I glared bloody murder at him as my heart dropped,

"yeah, he took me to a ba-""HEY MA, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!" I quickly took the phone from him, and I so wanted to punch the smug look out of his face,"No, we still didn't get our diplom-""I FCKING DID IT, I GRADUATED WOOHOO!!!!" Someone in the back screamed making me almost choke on my spit as I regained my senses and quickly came up with something," well, yeah it's just... our class, since there is one class where our professor was late to give our grades back and they are still working on it... yeah, yeah that's great great great...of course I don't mind, they'll email me my grades and diploma... can't wait bye-WHAT THE FCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!??" right after hanging up I shouted at my brother,

"I ... Didn't... Like your...attitude", he started laughing and I couldn't resist anymore, I grabbed him in a chokehold and started rubbing his head with my knuckles until he begged me to stop, then I continued, now I have to go there for a stupid family gathering or some sh*t because of you"

"really, how long you stayin there?"

"3 weeks!!!"

"AOUCH, tough luck"

"oh no, you're going with me!!"

"Damn it!!"

hey guys, thanks for reading this, this first chap is to set the scene a little and to see your reaction on this type of story.

FYI, there is no supernatural or sci-fi stuff in this, it's just a slice of life thing with unrealistic stuff happening and maybe exaggerated feats like running as fast as a truck or lifting something too heavy, but nothing more.

this story is 100% mine and so are the characters in it, I had a dream I got inspired by and wanted to try making something out of it, and I won't drop my previous story, I'm just experimenting😅😁
