1 A hurried search

"Why?.. why the skies are against me today?..", said Cheng, staring at the window. It was raining heavily. He wanted to get out of the house soon to buy some suits. Cheng was very rich but still he wanted to buy a suit, a new one, as he had a blind date set by his overbearing mother, on the next day. He really wasn't interested in that blind date, but was pressurized by his family for the sake of his sister. His sister, two years younger to him, wanted to get married soon as she was in love but as per the family custom, the first born should be tied the wed lock first. So, it became the fate of Cheng to participate in the blind date. Still, he wanted to show off his family's wealth to the other people. So, he was eagerly waiting to buy a new suit. It seemed like the heavens were against him and was angry with him for his greed. Cheng started to feel cold as the rain began to turn as a storm. "Will you like to have a cup of hot tea, sir?" asked his personal assistant. Cheng just nodded his head and within seconds he was tasting the hot cup of tea. After a while, he got up and searched his cupboard. His personal assistant, Xing Rui, asked him, "Sir, would I be of any help?" "Not at all. I'm just checking whether I have a blue suit for tomorrow."replied Cheng. "You have a navy blue suit. And additionally you also have, sky blue, indigo blu, pale blue, dark blue, galaxy printed blue, strong style blue, ..." and the list went on. Mr.Xing Rui knew Cheng very well. "But I still don't have the one in my mind." replied the rich man, "You can stay outside. But wait, you can do me a favour. Please get me an interesting novel." The assistant almost swooned. What! The great Cheng Lie finally wants to read! It was history to the poor guy. Cheng had never read a book in his life. Atleast, the others didn't find him reading one. So, with full excitement, Rui went to get his boss a novel. He went to the Cheng's personal library which had never been used by the owner. He found many novels. He was actually in a dilemma to choose one. Romance or Adventure, Horror or Fantasy and other choices went inside his little mind. Which one, the one that changed Cheng's life, did this poor man choose..
