Found, but Still Lost

Nathan awoke in a stone room with only a door. No windows or bars. It was dark and damp. "Nathan! You're finally awake!! Thank goodness, I was so afraid that you would've been killed. But this still isn't any better. What were you thinking!" Akila exclaimed as she hugged her son to her.

"Mother.... w-where am I?" Nathan asked.

"You're in Kasai's fort. But how did you get here?" Akila asked.

"I was with Sophie and he was calling our names and he said that if we went with him you would all be spared. I don't know what happened after I went to him," Nathan replied, puzzled.

"Sophie! Where is she?! Is she hurt?!" Alina and Lyle exclaimed rushing to Nathan.

"She's safe, I assume. She didn't approach Kasai as I did. She didn't think it was the best thing. So I said goodbye and went to Kasai," Nathan said.

"Oh thank the gods. She'll find us, I know it. I have a feeling," Alina said, sighing.

"But there is one thing you should know..." Nathan said looking at Lyle, " She knows about you, her genetics. I heard your voice in the wind and before I left I told her. I couldn't bear keeping it from her. I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay. She needs to know anyway. Her magic will be the only thing that can set us free. She is more powerful than she thinks," Lyle said, sighing as well.

"As are you Nathan. You and Sophie are part of something greater than you think. There is a prophecy that Kasai told us. It spoke of a 'Woman of Nature' and a 'Man of Night.' Sophie is the woman of nature and you are the man of night. You two are destined to wed and sire a child, a child of light. Only your future child, my granddaughter, has the power to defeat Kasai for good," Charles said, looking at his son.

"So that's why Kasai has been hunting Sophie and I down. He wants to prevent that child's birth," Nathan replied.

"I've been hunting your entire family down for years," Kasai said, materializing inside the room, " Every villain your family has faced, Markabe and Josiah, all of them were created by me, to end your lives early. Even those times when one of you were hurt mysteriously, it was all me. I wanted at least one of you dead, and I tried my best to make that happen, but you are all so persistent!" Kasai smiled and stared at them all," Oh! I completely forgot, Sophie is on her way. I need to separate you all so she isn't able to find you. Be prepared, each room is your worst nightmare playing over and over again. Nonstop. The only reason it would stop is if Sophie finds you, which I doubt she will. Now, have fun." Kasai flicked his hand and the room disappeared.

Alina stood in a room similar to the throne room in Markabe's castle. She watched the fight between Markabe and Lyle and saw the thing she dreaded then and still now. As Lyle's body laid on the ground with the sword through his chest the room faded away and Sophie stood in front of a vision of Kasai. Another fight occurred, and Sophie met her end. Alina collapsed to the floor in tears as Markabe's room returned again.

Lyle stood outside a large and towering castle. He looked up at it and saw large and terrible flames roaring from inside. Agonizing screams came from inside the castle. "Mother! Father!" yelled a young Lyle. He watched as the events of his family's death replayed over and over.

Akila and Charles both (Still in separate rooms) stood in the dungeon of Josiah's castle. Charles watched as he witnessed Akila's body being drained of its magic. Her skin turned pale and lifeless.

Akila sobbed as she watched Charles wings being torn off of his body and thrown into a pile, where underneath, laid Nathan's body.

Nathan stood in what he assumed was Kasai's throne room. Through the doors he saw Sophie running in with her sword in her hand. Nathan tried to yell at her to stop but nothing came out. He watched, unable to help, Sophie and Kasai battle. Kasai had knocked Sophie to the ground and had his sword at her throat. He lifted it and plunged it deep into her head, killing her instantly. Nathan cried out, silently, in anger for what he saw. Tears ran down his face and onto the floor. "No.... no.....NO!" thought Nathan, "I won't let this happen. She will find me, all of us."

"Are you sure about that? Are you sure that Sophie wants to help you after what she saw? After your anger came out at her party?" A figure whispered in to Nathan's ear from behind him. It cackled, "Did you really think Sophie wouldn't see the darkness and anger inside you. I am the manifestation of your anger," an exact copy of Nathan with bright red eyes stepped into his view, smiling. "You think I will leave.... I will never leave! One day you will give into the darkness.... and I.... will take over and everything you once loved will be lost...." the clone dissipated in front of Nathan's eyes. Nathan collapsed on the ground in tears.

"I- I can't let this happen. Sophie, we're counting on you.... to save me.... To save our families..."
