Chapter 75: Not as precious as you.

I have got a small news here to share. My summer vacations are now done and I am back to my university again. My semester is going to start in two more days and I might not be able to update the chapters daily. But I promise to release them as frequently as I can, so please be patient and keep supporting me. Ling Yue was sitting on the bed pondering over something deeply when Li Wei came out of the bathroom. She didn't hear his footsteps coming closer and his hand reaching out to brush her hair. She flinched at the sudden warm contact with his hand and looked into his dark black eyes looking at her with relief. He must have been worried and scared with everything that happened yesterday.

"Wei." Li Wei smiled hearing his name on her lips. Sitting beside her on the bed, he took her small hands into his and rubbed them to make them warm. After so much blood loss, there was no way she wouldn't feel cold.

"How are you feeling now?" Li Wei asked though he knew she would probably lie and tell she was fine. And yup, just like expected, Ling Yue said she was fine and getting better.

"I should go to my room now. Can you take me there?" Ling Yue asked and Li Wei smiled hearing this. Good. At least she was not like before when she would do everything alone even when people who could help her were around her. He carefully lifted her in princess style and took her to her washroom. Since Ling Yue asked him to go out and that she could manage this herself, he went out and waited in her room.

Ling Yue brushed her teeth and washed her face before coming out. She couldn't bath, so she wiped herself with a wet towel and changed into a new dress. Though Li Wei said he would call a maid to help her with this, she rejected. She wasn't comfortable with people touching her and watching her naked.

It took her some time to be done with her activities and thought Li Wei would have left her room by then but she was wrong. He had endless patience when it came to her and this little time in bathroom was nothing. He has, after all, spent lifetimes loving her. He was arranging everything she needed closer to the bed so that she would not have to walk.

Yesterday Uncle Li brought her an electric wheel chair to use since everyone knew she doesn't have the habit of depending on others. Apparently that chair was once used by her and he still had no idea what she went through to get onto that wheel chair.

Seeing that Ling Yue was leaning against the bathroom door to get some support to walk, Li Wei went ahead and again carried her back to her bed.

"I will get you breakfast. Stay here." Li Wei said and started walking towards the door.

"Wei wait." Halting in his steps, Li Wei turned back to Ling Yue who looked a little hesitant to ask him something. Though Li Wei had many things he didn't have answer to and would not want her to know now, he would always be glad to hear her.

"You want to say something?" Ling Yue nodded and patted the place beside her on bed. Li Wei walked back and sat beside her.

"Well. I have one thing to inform, and another one is a request."

"Uh-huh." Li Wei nodded and encouraged her to speak further. Yesterday she wasn't in a condition to speak a lot.

"One. You left your bike in the Ji Jing and it kind of .. got blasted.." Li Wei raised his brows. The bike got blasted? How? What did that yellow lizard do? Looking at his raised brows, Ling Yue hurriedly added.

"I know Uncle Li gifted it to you. It must be precious to you. I am sorry. I w-will explain this to uncle and get you a new one..." She trailed off looking guilty for the poor bikes death. Li Wei laughed hearing this. His father did give him many gifts since childhood but that doesn't mean everything given to him were considered precious by him.

For example the condom packet given by his shameless father on his recent birthday among many other gifts. He never had sex with anyone but that doesn't mean he was desperate. Condoms on birthday?

His left hand touched her face and rubbed her cold cheeks. "It is not as precious as you Yueyue. But you are welcome to buy me a new one. I would love to go on a night drive with you again." Li Wei's statement made her pale cheeks catch a tint of red. She remembered his confession, but choose to keep mum on that topic. Li Wei too didn't bring it up right now.

"Hm. So? How did it get blasted?"

"Oh that.. Some people who followed us died because of traps setup there, and I thought someone might get close to my cottage or villa, so I activated few l-landmines. That's what happened to you bike." Ling Yue said a little apprehensively. People died, but she can't let them reach her. They should have backed off earlier. They didn't. Their fault.

Li Wei looked at her intently. Min Hua had got blood on her hands because she wanted to save Jiang Yuan. Ling Yue too did the same thing. Not like those people deserved to live, but he was ashamed of his witlessness.

"It's okay. I will take of this matter from here. Don't worry about things in Ji Jing." Ling Yue nodded. She knew he would do it if he said it.

"I didn't know you had a cottage there. Why did you build two homes there?" this question was important to him. How did she build that cottage exactly the same way it was a few centuries back?

"It was BaoBao who found the place first. He dragged me there to show that cottage. I too felt comfortable in that place so I built the cottage again. It was all ruined when I first saw it. Might be someone used to live there years ago." Ling Yue shrugged her shoulders.

"Ohh.. The interior was beautiful. How did you get that idea?" Li Wei questioned and Ling Yue looked at him weirdly. Interior was beautiful? Well it was good, but it was very simple. And he had time to look at the interior of the house in between all that fiasco?

"I don't know. I just felt it and drew out the layout. I was satisfied with it so I just went ahead with that design." Ling Yue explained. Li Wei nodded his head. He understood why this happened. Though Ling Yue doesn't know the past, every moment of their past was still within her. Sometimes protecting her and sometimes hurting her.

"And Two." Oh yes, there was another thing she wanted to tell him. He signalled her to go ahead.

"I think I should get my condition checked and I will need the laboratory for my medicines."

"When do you want to go?" Li Wei was happy that she brought this up. She was willing to take his help.

"I have an appointment day after tomorrow. After the scanning and results are done, I will come to Li corps, we can go to lab together." Li Wei frowned hearing her answer.

"Day after tomorrow? You shouldn't move around much. How about you reschedule the appointment? And I will come with you to the check up too." Ling Yue smiled hearing this.

"I will be okay by then. I have already delayed it for too long." Li Wei kept quite. Indeed she had delayed it more than a decade. He considered her no comments on his accompanying her as her approval and nodded.

"Okay. Stay here. I will get you breakfast." Li Wei left downstairs and saw Li Mei and father Li returning back from their early morning walk with the pet trio. Xiao Bai and DouDou ran upstairs to meet their mommy but BaoBao jumped onto Li Wei and started licking him as he does every other morning.

"Heh.. Hahahah.. Buddy. Good Morning." After ensuring that he had properly hugged and kissed Li Wei, BaoBao got down and Li Wei bent down to stroke his fur.

"Thanks buddy. For staying with Ling Yue, taking care of her, protecting her, and also .. for finding me again." As if understanding what Li Wei said, BaoBao licked his cheek again and went upstairs to meet Ling Yue.

"How the fucking hell did that Li Wei get out of this? From where did he get that information from?" Jade's loud voice resounded in the dark room as his subordinates shuddered in fear. Truth be told, none expected that their boss would one day fail in hunting his target.
