10 Fang Dien (II)

Xiong Zhi entered the police station. She sat in the waiting area and patiently waited. After a while, he saw a middle-aged man and a tall man with a briefcase come out in one of the rooms.

When the door was opened, she caught a glimpse of a young man in the room.

Seeing the young man, Xiong Zhi relaxed. Her target was there.

'Seems like my timing was right.'

Xiong Zhi waited for the young man to come out. After a while, she saw him come out and was led to a temporary jail.

He sat on the ground with drooping shoulders.

She watched him punch the ground and cover his face with his hands.

She walked towards the jail.

An officer suddenly blocked her way.

"Excuse me, are you lost? Underage people should not be here," the officer said.

Xiong Zhi picked up her ID from her pocket and held it out for the officer to see.

"I'm not underage."

Well, she was… not actually. She had someone create a forged ID, faking her age as nineteen years old. They would not check anyway.

The police officer looked at the card. When he saw her age, he stared again at Xiong Zhi.

Xiong Zhi was taller than normal girls. She got long legs. At the age of sixteen, her height was five feet and six inches. But her young, beautiful, and immature cold face told people that she was either sixteen or seventeen at most.

That was not what caught the officer's attention, though. Because she was wearing a cap, he could not clearly see her face. Still, when he looked carefully at her to determine her age, he was captivated by the young girl's beauty. He had never seen a girl as beautiful as her.

His mouth inadvertently hung open. Xiong Zhi used this chance.

"I just need to talk to my brother. You see, our mother was sick, she was looking for him. I need to get him out before our mother's condition worsens," she boldly lied.

The police officer seemed to not notice her lie nor her monotone voice and emotionless face when she said those words.

The officer just nodded while gawking at her face. He seemed to have forgotten that he had just received a bribe earlier to not let anyone interact with the cell man.

Xiong Zhi walked towards the cell. Fang Dien was still looking at the ground.

"Mr. Fang," Xiong Zhi called him.

Hearing his name called by an unfamiliar voice, he looked up.

What Xiong Zhi saw was a gorgeous face. He had smooth, silky brown hair, which looked very soft. His brown eyebrows were aligned neatly, his beautiful chocolate eyes with a struggling look were covered by fine long lashes, his tall nose, and his somewhat pale but full lips were slightly parted. All in all, she was looking at a charming, model-like figure.

She now understood why he had such a tough life. With that face and figure, and zero background, he was like a tempting delicacy for those lecherous men and women.

Xiong Zhi was not affected, though. She was used to seeing beauty.

She saw Linfeng and her wealthy classmates almost daily.

Fang Dien just looked at her, waiting for her to speak. He could not clearly see her face, but he knew she was young. However, she was a stranger to him.

"Mr. Fang, I'm Xiong Zhi. I'm here to take you out, but with a condition."

When he heard that, his face darkened.

These bastards!

Earlier, he lost to Mr. Su because Mr. Su had a lawyer prepared. Even though the charge against Fang Dien was assault and harassment with extreme lack of evidence, it still ended up with him being sentenced to two years in prison. Simply because that bastard Su used his money to circumvent the law and bribed the officers.

The bailing money was also high. Fang Dien did not have enough money to bail himself out. He also did not have anyone to borrow from because he did not make any real friends. He was swamped surviving that he had no leisure time to make friends.

Fang Dien knew he had no way to bail himself out. Still, he would not concede to their conditions. He remembered what that bastard Su had said before he left.

"I'm a good man. Since nothing happened, I will consider again if he 'apologizes' to me," Mr. Su said with a lecherous expression while looking at Fang Dien.

Fang Dien knew what he meant. If he considered sleeping with that bastard, he would withdraw the charge and view it as a truce.

Never!

He would rather stay in prison than satisfy that bastard's sexual needs. Just thinking about it made him nauseous.

Now, they sent another person to convince him to concede. Was that bastard's pet in his pants really in need?

He looked at Xiong Zhi with a furious expression.

"Get out! I would not become sex buddies with that disgusting old man! I would rather stay here!"

Xiong Zhi looked calmly at the furious Fang Dien. She waited for him to calm down before reaching for something in her bag and handed it out to Fang Dien.

It was a folder. To be exact, a contract.

Xiong Zhi was not good with words. She spoke directly. If she continued talking to him right now, he would not understand her intentions. So, written comments probably would take effect.

"I'm not one of his people. Read this. You have three days to decide. I would be back in three days," she said, then left after giving the folder to him.

Fang Dien looked at the girl's back. He was still furious, but he managed to calm down. He looked at the folder. At least, he had something to read to pass the time. He seemed to relax a bit. He opened the folder and was startled at the contents of the twenty-page document. It was written concisely yet detailed.

He read the proposal, the detailed explanations, conditions, and even the said company's layout.

He was even more shocked when he read what his position would be in the company.

CEO Fang.

With a dumbfounded expression, he looked in the direction where the girl had left. This… 

This seemed too good to be true… 

But the documents here did not lie.

Who was that girl?!

Outside the police station, Xiong Zhi drew a check beside Fang Dien's name in the car.

She was sure that the man would accept the contract. Having no way out, presented to him was a tempting offer that could change his life. He would be a fool if he did not grab the opportunity.

Xiong Zhi knew that Fang Dien should be aware that he would likely have a hard time finding another decent and formal job after serving in prison. He would be blocked by several companies, and no one would employ him who had a criminal record.

So the only choice was to accept this offer.

Xiong Zhi wanted to recruit Fang Dien in her company because the man was full of potential. He was not suited to become a mere accountant.

If he knew what he had accomplished six years from now in her previous lifetime, he would be very proud.

In the end, he washed all the dishes, cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, and even fixed their broken oven.

Seeing how Fang Dien was so diligently working, the old man was moved. He offered a job to Fang Dien. Fang Dien happily agreed.

From that day on, Fang Dien became an all-around worker. Since he had done many odd jobs during high school and college, it was not hard for him to adjust. He cooked, cleaned, fixed things, and even became their accountant and manager.

Because of him, the RESTO became more organized and came up with many strategies that attracted customers. New food, new services, new gimmick, until the restaurant expanded and became famous.

It became one of the most sought-after restaurants in Country C. Many investors from foreign countries wanted to invest in RESTO branches overseas in just five years.

When a journalist from the food industry featured the RESTO, they discovered Fang Dien, the head manager who had turned the RESTO into a success.

After writing an article about his life story and how he made the RESTO soar from its humble background, he became sensational.

Many CEOs wanted to poach him as their manager, assistant director, and the likes with a tempting offer, but he remained loyal to the old man who had helped him, the owner of the RESTO.

Because of that, Xiong Zhi admired him greatly. He did not bite the hand that fed him. He was capable, full of potential, hardworking, and was very loyal to his benefactor. This kind of man was rarely found in today's world.
