Chapter Eighty Six: With Run

The beaming sun stood at it's peak in the blue sky. Earthlings in the past would often call this time of day…high noon. And on this high noon time of day, a boy with hazel colored eyes stood in front of a moderate sized red and white diner. And despite the beaming high noon sun, the boy with hazel eyes dressed the way he wanted. The boy wore a black unzipped zip jacket over a brown hoodie, brown pants that were gifted to him by famous clothing company, and black school shoes that were sent to him by a professional basketball player.

"Dovely Diner."

Rian muttered the flashing green words on the neon pink sign that stood above the diner.

[Knock!] [Knock!] [Knock!] [Knock!] [Knock!] [Knock!] [Knock!]

Someone had suddenly started knocking from behind the glass window of the "Dovely Diner"

After hearing the rapid knocking, Rian turned his head from the sign and towards the right, more specifically, the fourth window on the right side of the diner.

After turning his head, the hazel eyed boy noticed a girl blowing her breathe on her knuckles. The girl had light green hair and eyes that could be either maroon or pink. After the girl finished comforting her knuckles, she looked back out the window before waving her hand towards the person she was suppose to meet today.

"…"

Rian also waved his hand towards the person he was supposed to meet before dropping his waving hand and entering the diner.

[Ring]

The bell above the door rang when Rian entered…

After the boy entered the red and white diner, his sense of smell was greeted by a faint smell of coffee and hashbrowns. The smell was to be expected, it had just changed from morning to afternoon after all.

"…"

Rian walked more into the diner before looking around the new-found place. Directly in front of the boy, sat red stool seats and a wide countertop made for eating. Beyond the spinning stool seats and the wide countertop was a kitchen, it contained a more than ten people. Several paces on the boy's left and the right side sat red booth seats, they seemed to big enough to fit two people on each side.

"…"

After finishing his look around the diner, Rian turned right and walked towards the fourth diner booth. However, before the boy could walk past the third diner booth, a girl with light green hair suddenly jumped out from the second booth.

"Boooo!!!!"

Run yelled out while raising her hands in a extremely "scary" way.

"!!!"

Rian jumped in a extremely "scared" way.

"Hehehehe! Did I scare you?"

A smirking, smug, and proud Run said with a puffed out chest and fists on her hips. She wore a light green tank top, short black jeans, and brown open-toe sandals.

"Nope. I just gave it to you."

Rian shook his head. It was unknown if Rian was honest or a actor that could fool another actor.

"Mmmhmm."

Run hummed with a raised head. She didn't believe him. People who got scared often say they weren't scared afterwards.

"…"

Rian let the smirking green haired birthday girl believe what she wanted today. He turned and took a seat in the second booth, it was the closest booth to him.

Run followed his action and took a seat across from him before picking up the menu.

"Rian, let's get this."

Run called out the first couple related thing that caught her eye. She placed her menu on the white cloth table before leaning forward, turning the menu, and pointing at…

"The couple's drink? Alright, let's get it."

Rian scanned the menu after saying this…

"Let's also get this."

Rian pointed at…

"The couple's spaghetti! Let do it!"

Run's eyes shined before she leaned back and continued to look over the menu.

However, seconds after Run leaned back, a white plate flew towards Rian head.

"Rian, ho-"

Run cut herself off. She only had time enough time to see Rian raise his empty hand before he caught a white glass plate like a frisbee.

[Footsteps] [Footsteps]

Two sets of similar sounding footsteps quickly approached Rian's and Run's table after Rian had caught the flying plate.

"We're sorr-/ We're sorr-"

The two approaching girls had stopped talking at the same time..

"Oh…it's you two."

Rian remembered the two girls after seeing them. The two girls had black hair, similar heights, and red eyes. They seemed to be twins. The only way a person could properly tell them apart was to look at the black and red diner uniforms they were now wearing.

"…/…"

"How you two been?"

Rian asked while putting the glass plate on the table…

"…/…"

Despite seeing the high school boy that once knocked them and their sister down. Rather than targeting the boy again, they bowed and apologized.

"We're double sorry for attacking you./ We're double sorry for attacking you."

The red eyed twins apologized for both attacks…

"It's alright, I have been through worse."

Rian let them go. He wasn't badly hurt from either of their attacks.

[Footsteps]

Another set of footsteps quickly approached Run's and Rian's table.

"I'm very sorry for the slip up. I don't mean to make excuses, but it's their first week here."

A women with a tied ponytail quickly said. The women had the word "Manager" engraved into the collar of her shirt.

"It's alright."

Rian said again.

"No, no, no. It's not alright sir, you desire compensation for the slip up."

The manager denied Rian's "Alright" before closing her eyes and pondering about what to give them.

"Free couple food, free couple drink, free couple food."

Run said to the air before turning to look out the window.

"…I can give you free food. Would you like that?"

The manager was glad someone or something told her that. Truthfully, she didn't know what to give the couple.

"Yes."

Rian didn't deny her offer, he wasn't rude.

"Great! Let's get this and this."

Run turned away from the window before pointing at the "Couple's drink" and the "Couple's photobooth."

"…Got it."

The manager nodded her head after remembering the items Run pointed out. She quickly lead the two twins to the kitchen before starting her work…
