By the time Gabe returned an hour later, Ivy was putting Liam to sleep in his cot, and he stood by the door and watched her.

Ivy smiled at how innocent and peaceful Liam looked as he slept. There was nothing for him to worry about, she thought with a sigh as she wished it was the same for herself and the rest of the family.

Ivy turned around and was startled to see Gabe standing there, "Sorry I startled you," he said, and she nodded.

"He is asleep now. He was hungry earlier," Ivy said, and Gabe frowned.

"But I tried feeding him…."

"With Purée? He has a schedule and gets irritable when it's not followed. That's why someone had to come be with you," Ivy explained, and Gabe sighed.

"I see," he said, and she smiled.

"Although you weren't doing such a bad job. I'm sure he fell asleep easily because of the songs you sang him earlier," Ivy joked, and Gabe smiled.
