Jake let out a sigh the moment the cab came to a halt in front of his apartment.

Even though he was relieved after telling Tan the truth, he felt anxious about all that was going to happen next since it was up to his grandmother.

He hoped that his grandmother would reconsider her decision this one last time since he really didn't want to have to go to extreme means to convince her, and he didn't want to watch her being arrested either.

"Jake? Why are you back home so early?" Regina asked when she stepped out of her bedroom and saw Jake walking into the house.

She paused when she noticed that he was carrying a box which she assumed contained his stuff at the office.

Why was Jake back home so early with a box? Did something happen? Or did he perhaps quit his job after telling them the truth? If he had done that, she was sure she would have heard from Charlotte by now.
