Chp #9 - Staying comfortable

"Good morning everyone"

It's 8.30am and Nancy has arrived the hotel for her official first day of work.

"Morning Nancy! I'll introduce you to our staff that was on off yesterday. This is Chan. So total we only have 2 guys and the rest are ladies" Marcus introduce Nancy to Chan.

Chan has a "arrogant" looking face and does not even smile that often unless its infront of hotel guest. He is quite good looking and smart looking too! He wears spectacles, tall and younger than Nancy of 2 years.

"Hi" Chan only said one word to Nancy and walks off. This is the first time, Nancy met a guys who is not "attracted" to her personality.

But Nancy is not the type who flirts. So she ignores his attitude and listen to Marcus instructions.

"So today, you will be on ground, speaking with guest and asking if they will need any assistance. If there's nothing to do, you may provide our Singapore map and start a conversation with them" Marcus explains the task for today.

However when Nancy was on the floor, she stood beside the front desk counter, feeling nervous and awkward to even approach anyone.

"Nancy, you can walk around the lobby and see if there's any guest who needs help" Randy approaches Nancy to help her out.

Nancy starts to walk around. But since its not holiday season, the hotel wasn't that busy.

Nancy happens to see how Randy work. Randy seems like a responsible guy and everyone seems to listen to him. A guy with leadership.

"If he confess to me one day, maybe he could help me out at work and protect me" Nancy smiles to herself.

"Nancy, come here" Marcus calls Nancy from afar.

"Since there's nothing much to do, I'll teach you about the system" Marcus bring Nancy in to the office and patiently teach her regarding the system.

As time past by, Nancy became more and more comfortable with Nancy that she unknowingly put aside her "prim and proper" look.

Sitting beside Marcus, she puts her leg on top of Marcus table bin and her hands on her chin, just because she was too focused.

45 minutes of training and explanations ended and Marcus realized Nancy sitting position.

"You are the first person who i met, dare to sit this way infront of a manager like me" Marcus lauged and Nancy shyly laugh as well while putting her legs down.

"This is the first time a girl is not scared of me. She's interesting" Marcus said in his mind.
