Prologue: Time of Death, 2:35pm.

When I was alive in this world, I was shut in and injured. I was disabled and confined to a wheelchair. I hated my life so much, I'd much prefer to be dead. 

To think of ways to distract myself from the world beyond me, I'd read fantasy novels of all different types. Many time's I'd wonder to myself what it would be like to live in the world of Cultivation. 

I guess, now I can't read them anymore. I was at a party with my friend, finally leaving the house, when someone slipped something in my drink. I could hear everything around me, even though I was dead. I heard the panicked cries from my parents, the sound of the EMT's yelling at everyone to move so they could get to me, the sound of my best, and only, friend crying. I heard the EMT's call it.

"Call it. Time of death; 2:35pm."

Then everything went black. I heard nothing, saw nothing, smelled nothing. Yet I was able to open my eyes.
