Chapter 12: Lucy Heartfilia

"I, Lucy Heartfilia, pledge to give my all into this training even if it means my life or sanity."

A pledge I had to make when I was in that training camp.

"Lucy, I was wondering what you went through. I am willing to listen. I am just glad to see you are back," Levy states with a hand on my shoulder.

"You're going to need to sit down then," I say. She does and I start to tell her everything.

"I, Lucy Heartfilia, pledge to give my all into this training even if it means my life or sanity." My hand shake as I give my pledge. The headmistress frowns knowing I was scared.

"Then for three days, you stay in this room. If you really mean that, you will survive on only one cup of water a day in this room. If you can not do that, we will not help you," The woman pushes me into a empty room. Setting the first cup of water on the floor.

Three days go by and I am still alive. The door opens and the woman is standing there. "Alright, it seems you really want to get stronger. Just know that this isn't anything close to easy.

One year after all the times I got lock into the room, I realized that I could escape with my spirits and succeeded. I earned my first tattoos after that.

The whip clashes across my back, blood streams down my back. I cry out the first time but after three thousand lashes I can call out to my Celestial Spirits without using my keys.

My last year, they made me watch videos of my friends dying. They don't want me to leave. I have to give the newbies the same treatment that they gave me. I can't cry anymore. I feel so strong, but so lost. I can't smile for really. I haven't laughed in three years.

"Put this on," The woman hands me the visual glasses.

'Natsu!' I scream in the video.

'Lucy, run.' I can't I turn to the other man in the video. I kill him. I can't let him live. I turn to Natsu and his hand that was reaching out for me falls.

"You can't help him, or anyone from Fairy Tail anymore. They are all gone. Just letters come through from long ago," The woman tells me as she takes the visual glasses off.

"I don't believe all of them are dead. I can't. I must go back. I can help."

"If you insist, we will grant it for you. Here is the video message system. Send them a message when you are about to leave and that way if anyone is there they will know that you will be arriving. But we are willing to help you when you find no one there, or anyone waiting for you."

That was the day before I left. The same day, I saw the girl who acted like the old me. They made me do the lashes, the torment and I knew that I was broken. That they had successful broken me to a cold-hearted murderous lady. I could never go back. No matter how much I wanted to.

"Oh, Lucy. I am sorry. Makes sense though. I hope that you will be okay. That we help you," Levy says while hugging me.

"I don't get it. After all of that, you are still accepting me. I have thought of killing, I have killed, and I have tortured people. How is that okay?" I ask.

"Lucy, you had to and you are my best friend. Nothing will change that." Levy smiles.
