1 New Region

My mom smirked as she watched her Emolga soar across the sky, battling against my Rowlet, Artemis. I was on the ropes because Emolga's attacks were swift and relentless.

"Mango! Incorporate some Acrobatics!" My mom commanded.

"Artemis! Hang tough and use your leaf arrows at any chance you can get!" I said.

Emolga looped around then propelled herself toward Rowlet at invisible speeds, striking Rowlet with barrage of Quick Attacks. Rowlet cried out as she was knocked upwards with a Shock Wave.

Emolga swooped up and struck Rowlet with a barrage of Acrobatics, nimbly striking Rowlet with quick and efficient attacks. She knocked Rowlet to the ground with an Iron Tail. Rowlet rolled backwards and slammed into the digital arena wall.

Rowlet slowly got up and let out a battle cry. Her grassy aura surged powerfully around her body.

"Artemis! Use your Leaf Typhoon!" I bellowed.

Rowlet flew toward Emolga and launched blades of leaves at her. Emolga soared across the skies and evaded the Razor Leaves. Rowlet created a shadow of herself and it vanished and appeared behind Emolga. Emolga looked surprised then cried out when she was launched into a spiral of leaves spinning around Rowlet as she twirled around quickly.

Rowlet let out a cry and formed a slight tornado around her body, using the leaves to constantly strike Emolga then dispersed the tornado, releasing a powerful gust of wind that launched Emolga into a digital wall. Emolga cried out and fell onto the ground.

The digital arena disappeared and the crowd cheered after watching an intense battle between me and my mom. I hurried over to Rowlet and picked her up. Rowlet cooed happily in my arms then flew upwards to land on my head.

"Well I can definitely say, Artemis has definitely mastered Overgrow. Now if only she can master Long Reach.." My mom smiled as she healed Emolga. Emolga felt better and flew out of her arms then let out a happy cry.

"Long Reach is a bit difficult. Artemis would have to master her ability to create shadows outside of Shadow Sneak, but we will get it." I smiled.

My mom smiled and nodded. "As long as you keep practicing, you'll get it in no time. I'm gonna make some lunch, why don't you hang around for a bit."

I nodded. "Okay."

I decided to explore Hau'oli City and ran into one of my old classmates from Pokemon Trainer school. I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder. "Aurora."

Aurora looked at me and smiled. "Axel! Wow it's been some time since I've last seen you!"

Aurora was an 18 year old woman who came to Alola all the way from Sinnoh. She has long brunette hair, beautiful amber eyes, and wore an official Sinnoh Battle Tower badge, a badge she won for completing the Battle Tower. She wore her usual white and black jacket, black skirt and leggings, with white boots. Her partner, a shiny Eevee named Evoli stood beside her and greeted me and Rowlet with happiness.

"I know it's been some time. A year to be exact. You see I wanted to become a Champion and I did. After I became champion, I was rewarded Artemis here as a gift from my mom." I smiled and Artemis looked proud as she sat on my head.

"To do all that in a year, that's impressive." Aurora smiled at me. She grabbed my hand and led me to a poster she saw on a billboard. She pointed at the posture. "I've been wanting to go there. The Ragnu Region."

"Ragnu? Is that a new region?" I asked.

"Apparently it's been around for years. Top Trainers from all over the world are going there. It's got me and Eevee pumped. We feel like going there could help us master Eevee's Secret Power." Aurora said.

"Secret Power? Are you referring to Eevee's extraordinary ability to freely evolve and devolve at will?" I asked.

"Yeah, we haven't come up with a name for it yet. All she's mastered is her Bubble Jet Mode, her Lightning Mode, and her Flame Mode. Still till this day, my eevee is the only Eevee that can do this." Aurora smiled and looked at her Eevee.

"So what's so special about this Ragnu Region aside from the Top Trainers are going there?" I asked.

"Your rival. He's going there." Aurora said.

"Vain..." I said with a glare. "He's gonna pay for what he did to my Samurott."

Aurora slightly squeezed my hand and looked at me. "I believe going there will not only help us get stronger, but we will also learn a lot."

I looked at Aurora and smiled. "I know we will. We can go together and I'll even see if my mom wants to come with."

Aurora smiled and nodded. "Okay~ If everything goes right we can go next week."

"Let's hope." I said.

Aurora nodded and looked at the poster again with a smile.

I sat at the dining table with my mom and told her about the Ragnu Region. "So? Think you might wanna come?"

My mom smiled at me and reached across the table to gently squish my cheek. "Alright, sweetheart. I'll come with you, and I might actually get in on the fun too. Maybe some of my old girlfriends are there."

"Would be an excuse to break out the old team as well. Your Hydreigon is a beast." I smiled.

"I don't think anyone is ready for Hydren, but I keep him with me for any occasion. If this is a new region I can only imagine the Legendary Pokemon of the other regions are all coming there." My mom said.

"Come on, if you're going to go all out, might as well go full on! You're not going down the path I am. You're already known in other regions~" I chuckled.

My mom smirked and crossed her arms. "You're right, but don't complain when you one day have to battle against me again..~"

My mom before settling down with my father was a champion known around Kanto, Hoenn, Unova, and Kalos. Her team consisted of Hydreigon, her ace, a Staraptor, her Emolga, and her Serperior. She occasionally uses her own Decidueye.

"I will be looking forward to it!" I said with determination.

My mom smiled and stood up. "Better go get packed up~ We have a long trip to plan."

I smiled and nodded. I stood up and hurried upstairs. Rowlet flew after me and hooted. I went into my room and began to pack up. I looked at the Decidueye costume that was made for Rowlet and put it on her. Rowlet whistled happily and flew around with joy.

I continued to pack up and even talked to Aurora via my Rotom Phone. We were pretty excited to explore this new region together. She sent me information about Ragnu and I learned about the Ragnu Legendary Pokemon. There were five pokemon, representing Godai.

The five legendaries typing was Fire/Fighting, Water/Fighting, Grass/Fighting, Flying/Fighting, and Fairy/Fighting. I was interested in seeing them up close and personal.

"Hey, let's give it our all no matter what in Ragnu." Aurora smiled at me.

I looked at Aurora from my phone screen and smiled at her. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm going to give it my all out there."

Aurora softly giggled. "I believe it."

A week went by and we got all of our luggage packed and put on a moving truck. My mom had signed a lease for a house in Ragnu and we were all set. Aurora hurried over to us and caught up.

"Hey! Miss Moon and Axel! I'm coming with you two!" Aurora said happily.

My mom smiled and nodded. "The more the merrier. Come on, our plane is nearly here."

We waited for the plane and my mom waved her hand in the air so the pilot could see her. The pilot gently landed in front of us and opened the doors, allowing us to aboard the plane. Once we got in, the pilot took off.

I watched the scenery as we soared across the sky. Rowlet watched the scenery as well and her eyes sparkled with amazement from how high up we were. Eevee wanted a view of the clouds as well and sat in my lap to do so.

I looked at Rowlet and Eevee then smiled. I looked over at Aurora and noticed she was asleep. My mom was looking over information about Ragnu and prepared her squad in accordance.

We were in the sky for a few hours and soon we came down to a smooth landing in front of the airport. Once the plane stopped, we got up and got off the plane. I stretched and looked around then smiled. My Rotom Phone scanned the area.

[Area Registered: Ragnu Airport!]

We walked to the conveyor belt to grab our luggage then walked around to find our way out. As we walked, we noticed a battle going on up ahead. I jogged ahead to see the battle, Aurora and Mom followed behind.

I noticed a woman who looked dark and mysterious. She had long wavy white hair, pale skin, and ice blue eyes. Her bangs were covering her left eye and she had a symbol in her right eye. She wore a black ruffle dress with red adornments on the dress, fishnet stockings, and black heels.

"Golett...Shadow Barrage." The woman said.

Golett blocked the Meowth's attack then countered with a powerful strike to the stomach. Golett began to project multiple black energy fists to strike Meowth, using Shadow Punch with rapid succession. Golett ended its combo with a powerful Drain Punch, launching Meowth away.

The woman looked at her opponent and her eye shined. "You weren't a competition. You wasted my time with such a battle..." The woman said coldly.

"A barrage of Shadow Punches into a Drain Punch. It seems like Ghost Types can actually hit normal types and vice versa. Type advantages still exist taken how powerful that Drain Punch was." Aurora said.

"She's looking at you, Axel." Mom said.

I stared at the woman and walked forward. Rowlet followed behind and landed on my head. "I see you're looking at me. You must want to battle."

The woman stared at me with her cold, mysterious eyes. She recalled Golett and sent out her Haunter. "You seem strong. I can sense your battle experience. Battle me."

I looked up at Rowlet and she looked down at me. She flew ahead and landed on the floor, ready for battle. I smiled and looked at the woman. "Alright, we accept your challenge!"

The woman put a Pokemon on standby then a large arena formed around our pokemon. She looked at me and her eyes shined. "Get ready for your first taste in Ragnu Battles!"
