CH:45 The Secrets Start

The moment Raphael hears Michelangelo, he puts me down, leaving me wobbling on my jelly legs. He rushes over to the intruder to cover his mouth before Mikey starts yelling anything obscenely annoying.

Still slightly dazed from Raph's sudden burst of passion, I just slump against the wall as the two turtles talk things through in hushed voices. Well, more accurately, Raph trys his best to yell quietly and Mikey stares off into the distance with huge dinner plates for eyes and a deep red face. Nodding every once in a while, unable to make eye contact with either of us.

Once the lingering feeling of Raph's lips and overly curious tongue fade away and I can finally think straight, I get to my almost steady feet. Using my tail at full extension for extra balance, I head over to the turtles as Raph desperatly tries to convince a confused Mikey to stay quiet about what he just saw.

While scratching the base of my horn, I couldn't help but ask, "Why did you even come rushing in here, Mikey? You never visited me before."

At my words, Raph got a dangerous spark in his eyes as they turn to an incredibly dark amber before he adds rather aggressively, "That's a good question." Crossing his arms, making a point that he doesn't like where this is going.

Mikey gulps a hard lump in his throat before he answers, "Well ya'see, April just popped in saying that she needs a badass weapon as cool as ours. So, she wanted to spitball some weapon ideas with ya. Naturally, I had to tell her that it's Ying's masta-piece and that Ying just woke up so I had ta ask her." He starts shifting on his feet, clearly uncomfortable while he talks to us. "But, when I came close to Ying's room ta see if she's down for working on a weapon, I noticed a white glow shining through the cracks of the door and freaked... Sorry." He finishes with his innocent grin that looks a bit off as he scratches the back of his head.

'Stars! I really need to work on my glowing problem.' I inwardly scold myself before I turn back to the matter at hand.

Raph starts to relax a little, "So originally you just came to tell Ying that April was looking for her?" After Mikey nods in return Raphael takes a big deep breath before continuing, yet his eyes are still as dark as ever. "Okay, now you have to swear not to tell anyone what you just saw. Got it, bonehead?"

Mikey gives us a confused look before he asks, "Why? It's not like anyone would have beef with you two being together."

Ragh and I share an awkward chuckle as we glance at each other. Unable to give an answer I just scratch the base of my right horn and twiddle my foot in the ground as the tip of my tail begins to twitch a bit, leaving Raphael to answer the question.

While Raph clears his throat before he begins to talk, Mikey gives us an odd look with his eyes darting between us. "Well, Leo might disagree with you there, bro." Raph answers with his signature smirk.

'Why is this conversation making me feel so uncomfortable...' I couldn't help but ponder to myself as my tail starts to move on its own, whipping around uncontrollably like a ticked off cat.

Mike raises an eyebrow, confused as ever. But, before he could ask any more questions, Raph just throws his arm over Mikey's shoulder and starts walking him towards the door. "I think it's time, little bro, that you learned about the birds and the bees..." Were the last words I heard before they walked out of my room.

Before the doors closed, I hollered after them, "Send April my way if you see her!"

Shaking the odd scenario that just happened out of my head, I walk over to my glorious high tech workbench with a few ideas in my mind, 'Where has this beauty been all my life? I can't imagine what I would do without this thing at this point.' I think to myself as I start to pull up the files of materials that I've already created.

A moment later April walks in and greets me full of excited energy, "Sup, girl? Glad to see your still kickin."

I give a little chuckle before I answer, "He he, oh it will take a lot to knock me down. Now lets work on your weapon."

April squeals with a bit of delight as she runs up to my side at my workbench, "Soo, what cha thinking?"

With a sly smile I turn to her and say, "A Tessen Warfan."

Her eyes get a little bit larger, "That sounds pretty but is it effective?"

"Depends on the wielder, like all weapons."

"Oh..." she looks down a bit sad, "Then how do you know this is the right weapon for me?"

I pause for a moment and think before I give her an answer, "It's more of a feeling than anything, I don't think you suit most of the typical ninja arsenal. Plus, with a warfan you can have it on your person in any situation and most people won't think anything of it. The perfect weapon of Disguise." I finish with a flash of my fang poking out of my smirk.

April lights up once again, "Oh, that does sound perfect!" Making me giggle at her infectious enthusiasm.

For the next while we work out designs on her Warfan. Settling on the symbol for Splinters Hamato Clan, which is a simple design of a White Lotus. And just like tbe others, I embedded a power crystal in the base of the fan to act as a conduit to boost her Chi.

While we are working on the finishing touches of our project, I figured this is the perfect moment to ask her something that's been weighing on my mind.

I clear my throat feeling a bit nervous all of a sudden, "Hey, do you mind if I pick your brain about something that's been bothering me?"

April pauses, caught a bit off guard by the sudden change of topic before she says, "Sure thing, you can ask me anything."

As my nervousness increases my tail starts to twitch, but I'm not going to get an answer unless I actually ask. So, with a deep breath I go for it, "This might sound a little odd but would you mind telling me about the mating rituals of this planet?"

Her face turns a little red as she tries her hardest not to giggle, "Do you mean like how we show affection or the untold rules that we follow?"

This catches me a bit off guard, "There are untold rules?! How is someone supposed to follow rules if they're not told?"

Unable to hold back her laughter anymore she bursts into a giggle fest, "I guess mostly through trial and error. But, us girls normally share juicy details with each other. So, through that we can also learn together." She finishes with a knowing look on her face and a bit of a smirk.

Slightly confused, I scratched the base of my horn as I ask, "Is there anything in particular I should know?"

She thinks for a moment before she says, "I guess one of the most important thing would be that jealousy can be a bitch. Especially with guys, they really don't like to share."

With a raised eyebrow I inquire, "What exactly is jealousy?"

As bit of shock spreads on her face she has to ask, "Are you serious? You really don't know?"

I just give her a bit of a hopeless look and shrug my shoulders.

April runs her hand through her bangs pushing them up onto her head, making them look even more wild than usual before she answers, "Well, you see, when somebody really likes someone else and then another person starts making a move on their Crush, the first person in the scenario will get a very uneasy feeling and sometimes react with anger. That's jealousy in a nutshell."

My eyes go wide as I instantly remember that little bitch of a ninja, called Karai, flirting with Leo back on the rooftops.

The moment she notices me having a realization, April starts to giggle, "So yeah, you should keep a good eye on Leo, or is it Raphael? They both seem to have quite the googly eyes for you."

The moment she says both their names, I have a hard time giving a response and just start stuttering "I-I... W-well... Ummm..."

Her turn for her eyes to get wide with realization before she starts maniacally giggling, "Giiiirrrrllllll, shiiit... It's both of them isn't it?" My face turns 10 shades of red as I can't even find the words to reply. April just shakes her head a bit before she says, "Of all the turtles you pick the two that butt heads the most. You're really going to have to narrow your choices down before this blows up."

I heave a big sigh before I agree, "You are totally right. I had no idea how sticky of a situation I have gotten myself into."

This peaks April's interest a bit as she gives me a sly look and asks, "Soooo, how sticky are we talking? What exactly did you do with the guys?"

This makes my face turn even more red. But if anyone can help me understand this, it's probably April. So, I take a deep breath and begin to explain, "Well I guess it started when I asked Leo to show me the Stars. He brought me to this beautiful mountain top just outside of the city and we locked lips. He was very attentive the whole time but after the shit show at the purple dragon's headquarters, he's been incredibly cold to me. Raphael on the other hand has been consistently very warm towards me but usually only when we're alone. We actually locked lips for the first time earlier today... How is it that the two felt so different? I mean it's the same action is it not?" I look at her slightly puzzled.

"Well on the upside you only kissed both of them once, so they're jealousy shouldn't be that strong. But, of course they're going to feel different, you can't get any more different than those two."

I chuckle a bit at her simple analogy, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

I must have tickled her curiosity a bit too much as she asks with a spark in her eye, "Sooo, what exactly made them feel so different?"

I chuckle a bit at her nosy question, "Honestly, Leo was smooth and caring. While Raph was spontaneous and full of passion."

She giggles a bit at the juicy gossip she just heard before she clears her throat getting a little serious, "So, it sounds like you have a safe option or a fun option hehehe." I can't help but feel like she's a little devil sitting on my shoulder.
