Chapter 7: It can only be a Date

----Karne POV----

[ I swear, if by one week and Vylemor won't answer to my calls then my suspicions were correct.]

Doctor Dechat will have some explaining to do. It appears that after the weird scenario some days ago about some certain book, Yve and the boy fell into a state of sleep. There seemed to be no medical issues with both of them but the doctor is worried nonetheless for he cannot explain the circumstances by way of science.

The book, however, when I checked again was filled with descriptions of a certain person who made a single human as supreme ruler of all living and non-living things on the planet. More like, it was some kind of a program, an ideal person or some kind of prophetic diary. It had a very dark covering with a glittering 'Vylemor' in gold, encasing every edge with its lustrous property.

'Doctor, Vylemor had not made any appearance even after I mailed him about Yve. Are you certain that you are not hiding anything from me? I know I have no place to even begin to consider prying but I worry for Yve as well as you do.'

The doctor had been in the library for so long, he can't even open his eyes properly and the books littered the very space in the library as though it had fallen from where it originally stood. I was worried he might be declining requests from his clients just to find an answer he doesn't know exists or not.

He squinted at me but it seems that he can no longer force them open. I started to fix the books, stuffing them in any free shelf which took about half an hour before sighing at the doctor's sleeping form.

On the way to his room he began sleep talking, 'Oh dear, my lost child. Are you sure you want to forget? Do you really want to leave them behind?'

I kept leading him to his room, listening to his unconscious talking while wondering if ever they were true or just some other dream. I saw his communicator, aside from his phone lying on his bedroom desk. It was the perfect chance I ever had.

He wouldn't have a communicator if he didn't want anyone to know of his secret conversations, not even the telecommunication's company. Still, there's this weighing feeling that what I'm doing is very wrong but I was desperate. I guess it's in a human's nature to be desperate and far too curious for our own good.

I grabbed the communicator and pressed on after rushing out of the room to where Yve and the boy are sleeping. I made sure Yve still lay there unconscious when a voice answered, 'speak.'

What on earth is wrong with him? He spoke as though he is far more superior without confirming who the caller is. It was Vylemor indeed, proving my speculations wrong. I ended the call and hurriedly put it back before they notice that I have acted in a way they wouldn't want me to be.

Now, my next problem is Vylemor's classmate who apparently has stopped attending her classes after when Vylemor stopped attending his classes as well. Are they in league with each other? If they were, what is there objective? Regardless, I have to check with ES. I knew for some time now that they frequented that place.

I grabbed my bike and started in the direction of ES, my access cards tucked in my jacket pocket. The place is as always; very busy and teeming with entertainment sections you've never seen before outside the building or any in the other places you visit. It could have been a coincidence but I couldn't believe my luck.

She is there; Delu Decade is in the floor 0. How on earth did she end up there? I didn't bother checking the elevator when I entered but she is in floor 0, holding what seemed to be shopping bags filled with whatever she bought. She looked slovenly; messy hair, dark spots under her eye, wrinkled clothing but overall seemed pleased with her catch.

'Mesdames, hold up!' I got overwhelmed before considering what her reaction would be if she saw me. I couldn't blame her if she decided to run away. I told her to stop going to the mansion obviously because of the unforeseen events happening there but she didn't know any of that. It would have been fine if it were all that but no it wasn't.

I heard some very concerning rumours going about the school. Well, she did try to ascertain with me about her supposed to be friend 'Nabyuk' but I honestly haven't heard or seen her.

She told me that she was with her during the dinner from which she was invited and I was clear with her that there was no one with her and that both Vylemor and Ragens were the only one she was with at the gate.

My guess was right though, she didn't even turn to see who it was who talked to her when she dashed the hallway and was gone after one turn to another corridor. I went to security to find out where she holed up and I knew exactly where she acquired such access to the most restricted floors of ES when I got there. It was Vylemor who gave it to her since Vylemor had access to 11 restricted rooms in floor 0.

'Sir, Miss Delu Decade had been lodging in room 8, 3rd wave of the inner circles. Her records show that she had been betting on the upper floor games and it appears she had considerably won 13 consecutive bets with only 6 losses for the 19 bets she had placed in the past week. She remained dormant for two days up to now. Her current balance is 135 904 119 coins. Would you like to know her past visits in the ES or what she had purchased?

'That's quite enough, thank you Denri.' 135 904 119 coins? I don't know how she did it but that's some crazy betting wins. I tried it the first time and got discouraged very quickly but this, she's totally awesome. I have to know her secrets, oh wait I have some business with her. Focus!

'Kei, why are you looking into the files of a zero floorer?'

Denri is one of the ES's security personnel assigned for floor zero. She leads a crew of 5 where she is the youngest age wise of about 17 years old. The others are agency –referred but just as skilful, experts of their own chosen fields but a little spoiled by Vylemor when he was the one heading the ES. They have been granted access to restricted floors when they find out certain illegal or shadowy figures roaming about the ES and have successfully detained them.

[Sigh] 'Vylemor hasn't been home for quite some time now and Yve is in considerable danger because of some unknown illness or whatever it is.'

'The young master is?!' the whole crew who ignored my presence sprang up from their busy jobs upon hearing my concerns.

'And whatever may this Decade person be of connection to the boss?' Another one interjected.

'Expect salary deduction for those who intervened with our conversation. I am disappointed with how you act towards your employer. Remember that it is he who manages the ES.'

Denri gave the crew a threatening glare, 'Now… Off to work!'

She huffed and then turned to me, 'Do you want me to pass a search order for young Master Vylemor in the upper floors?'

The crew began a flurry of activity and before I even had a chance to reply, the search order had been sent. 'Give us 10 minutes to search the whole ES, just tell us the timeframe of the search.'

'One week ago to the present.'

'You have it!' She pressed the keyboard like a storm and the results came one after another in 5 minutes,

'The former boss had never stepped in the ES.'

I probably looked ridiculous because Denri wheeled her chair beside me, got up and led me outside saying, 'You need a break.'

How am I to help myself? Vylemor only stays on one place where can only be in the ES or the mansion when Yve isn't home. I don't even know where to look anymore for I have no leads to his whereabouts.

'Where are you taking me?'

She dragged me to the elevator and then out of it, 'Where do you think?'

'The only thing that comes to mind when girls invite me is a…'

[Should I continue? Of course I can, am I being stupid?]

'It can only be a date,' I just proclaimed the words so proudly that I saw in my peripheral vision how she tripped on her own footing. I thought I was very confident when it comes to this kind of stuff but now I'm not so sure.

She studied me for a minute but she just laughed so hard that the passer-by's are beginning to notice us. I grabbed her by the hand and boarded another elevator, wondering what I had done to be laughed at, it almost felt like she's insulting my understanding.

'No, you idiot because we are going to release some steam and pent up frustrations.'

'Where to? If it's a beverage, I'd rather decline.'

l hate drinking alcohol and I would never drink something so disgusting. Who would be so stupid to drink literal alcohol? Count me out.

'No, it's not alcohol. I swear, Karne. I'm still a minor and you expect me to drink?' She looked like I insulted her or hinted at her that she was the kind of bad girl who visits bars and clubs, drinking alcohol from daybreak to daylight.
