Horde killer

The black bauk head rolled on the floor while the headless body fell to the ground lifeless,

Inside the head, where it should've been connected to the body, a red, shiny crystal could be seen.

It was the same as the one engraved on the awekened card, a mana crystal.

The color red was pure, unlike the gate that was slightly orange.

He crouched to pick it up, and once it was in his hands he started analyzing it, it had a low amount of mana imbued into it and he felt like he could absorb it.

Just as he was about to start the absorbing process, he felt the gazes of something watching him from the high trees.

When his own gaze reached them, he saw eighteen pairs of red eyes staring at him.

He slowly slid the crystal inside his pocket with his left hand, while the right one was positioned in front of his chest holding the iron dagger.

He waited for the first one to approach him and, when it did, he quickly squatted avoiding its first slash, then, he gathered power in his legs and jumped, impaling the dagger right in the first hauk chin, he quicky stopped the time and noticed that two of them were right beside him, and so, after restarting the time, he retracted the dagger and threw himself backwards to avoid them both.

After five minutes of fight, that to him felt like hours, all the monsters were lying down on the floor without a bit of life in them.

He was exhausted because even if in only five minutes, his mind had indeed lived for almost half an hour thanks to his special skill.

After retaking a bit of breath he stood up and started dismembering the bodies of the beasts, he didn't bring much space with him so he could only take the most valuable parts: the teeths, the claws, and the mana stones.

While, the first mana stone, was purely red ,some of the others had a little shade of orange in them, probably because they came from higer ranking beasts.

After stuffing everything in the bag he took off, however, before he could get to the gate he felt a sensation he was already familiar with, he hurriedly armed himself preparing for what was about to come, numerous monsters had already surrounded him, for what he could see there were dozens of them, if not hundreds.

While they started rushing towards him,he defended himself with everything he had, just a minute had passed but the remaining duration on his time stop ability was rapidly fading away, he only had eighteen minutes remaining, knowing he couldn't continue like this he decided to try something he didn't think he would need.

He tried to infuse mana into his dagger, his first attempt failed and the only thing he achieved was hurting his arm in the process, understanding that learning to imbue mana was the only way he could get out of this situation alive, he decided that, spending the little bit of remaining time into it was more efficent than just continuing to deplete the timer on his skill hoping that the hoard would finished before it.

Stopping the time, he started to remember how it felt the first time he tried, he repeatedly run the operation in his mind as the time he had left was running thin.

Time remaining: 5,4,….3…..2....…..1…

[Remaining time for the day has ended, now forcfully terminating the skill.]

As the claws of the monsters restarted moving and quickly closing on to his defenseless body, his mind was trying to apply what he had repeated in his conscious hundred of times, to his body.

In what could've been the last moments of his life a tingling sensation started taking over his arm, mana slowly shifted into the blade until a green aura could be seen floating around his blood drenched dagger.

He waved his arm horizontally and three of the monster heads were sent flying as blood frowned down from their necks.

The others kept coming but his blade sliced right through them as if they were made out of butter.

After about a hundred more bodies reached the ground, the rest of the hauks ran away scared out of their wits, actually the reason they fleed wasn't because of him, but because of the light emitted from his mana-imbued dagger.

Bruno however, couldn't care less about it, and, exhausted from the excessive use of his mana, fainted, right on top of the pile of dead bodies.

…. A while later….

Bruno opened his eyes, realizing what just happened he quickly got back on his feets and immediately assumed his battle stance,

only after a minute did he realize that nothing was near, and finally relaxed his already overworked muscles.

really tired, he dragged his body to the gate, after passing through it, he was shocked for a bit.

He expected a blinding light in comparison to the dim one that penetrated the swamp, however, it was already far past the sunset and, the rising moon, covered by thick cloud didn't emit much light.

…..

Back into the hotel, he didn't even have the strength to take a shower, he just removed his sneakers with his feets while walking to the bed, and threw himself right in the soft mattress, as soon as his head touched the cushion, he fell asleep.

He woke up twenty-nine hours later, the sun was still rising and it could be seen through the window even while standing on the bed.

He gathered all his available willpower and prepared himself to stand up, but, just as he was about to do it, a familiar screen appeared in front of his face, it stated:

[Do you want to proceed with the third and fourth awekening of your bloodline?

(Yes) (No) ]

"What?!"…
