39 Chapter 36

6 years later

Ava

"You guys have to come out of the pool. Lunch is ready." I yell out at them. I was setting up the table by the swimming pool.

"Five minutes mom." Taylor says and David takes her side."Come on Ava. It's a Sunday, the only time I get with the kids."

Tyler mumbles. I look at Taylor and Tyler learn swimming from David and felt myself smile."Dad is right, mom."

"Fine. I have to call Shane from upstairs." At last, I agreed to them and walk back upstairs to call Shane for lunch. It came as a surprise. I was pregnant with twins. So as decided Taylor was our baby girl and Tyler the baby boy.

Tyler came out first and is five min elder than Taylor. Our guess was right though. We did have a girl and the boys are protective of her. Can I say over overprotective? Especially David. He loves the kids. I couldn't ask for more. They are my life."Come on Shane. Lunch is ready."

I saw him sitting on his bed reading his book. He looks up at me."Mom, It's just the last part of the story."

"What happened Shane?"

Ever since Taylor and Tyler were born, Shane distanced himself. From being the most chirpy to the quietest of all. That is the advantage after Tyler and Taylor.

They are very very naughty and so not silent. He loves them a lot and he is the best brother they could get. I know he won't admit but he gives up his piece of cake for them even if he wants it."It's nothing Mom."

"We are there for you Shane." I hug him and he holds me back. After I pull back from him he smiles at me."Yes, mom."

At Lunch

"I am the favorite child after all," Shane says and Tyler fights back.

"I am the favorite one."

"The favorite one doesn't argue because she knows she is the favorite one." There they go again. Fighting over who is the favorite one."We love you all equally." David finally puts a stop to their arguing.

"There is a favorite one.". Shane asserts looking at us for an answer.

"It's not true." These fights are not going to go anywhere. After which Taylor and Tyler chase Shane around the house.

"You can't catch me," Shane screams out laughing.

"It's two is to one. Wait and watch Shane" Taylor and Tyler run behind him and I yell out.

"Careful. Don't hurt yourselves."

Then I see Tyler falls."Tyler."

I was about to run to him but I felt a pair of hands pulling me towards him stopping me. "See."

I saw Shane stopped running and come back to Tyler. He helps him sit on the couch as he cries out in pain." Ty...Are you fine? Did you hurt yourself?"

"I think I sprained my ankle." He wails and I saw the expression on Shane's face soften."You should be careful Ty..."

Taylor holds Shane."He is so careless...And I caught you."

"Hey, Game over..." Shane declares

and Tyler cries out."Owwww..."

"I will put some ice."

Shane brings out ice from the refrigerator and gently applies it to his ankle. Taylor sits down beside him patiently watching Shane. I feel so happy. To see them all together. It seems like yesterday they were born. I smile looking at David.

"They are growing up so fast. Now I know what Dad meant." David finally speaks up and I nod at him.

"I will do anything to keep you all safe and happy. I love you, Ava. Thank you Ava For everything. I am so so lucky to have you."

"I love you, David. You are the best husband ever and the best father. I am here all because of your support and love." And he smiles at me pulling me into a hug.

At night

David and I sitting on the bed while the kids laid down. We were about to start reading a story is when Taylor confesses. "Daddy, I love a boy. Like mommy loves you."

"Who is that? I swear I am going to bash him." Tyler and Shane sit back.

"Tallie. You won't date until you are 18. I will not let anyone hurt my little sister." Shane says but Taylor whines."But I love him. He makes me happy. He shares his cookies with me."

David, Shane, and Tyler scream together. "Nooooo."

"No one dates my little princess," David says glaring.

"Enough..."

This is what I meant by over overprotective. I look at them arguing and could only think about it. A few years down the lane I was a lost soul but everything changed when I met David. I am a successful owner of a restaurant. I have a loving husband and I am the mother of three beautiful kids. I love them more than me and I couldn't ask for anything else.

"Ava, They are sleeping," David whispers and we slowly tiptoed outside is when David pulls me close to him by putting his hand on my waist.

"David..." I glare at him.

"The kids are asleep and Silver is here to watch over them. I have to take you somewhere." He says.

"Where are you taking me, Mr.Smith?" I ask raising my eyebrows.

"We won't be able to get out if you call me that. You know how that turns me on."

"Let's go..." I slap his arm and we both get into the car.  I was wondering where David had to take me late at night. We drove all the way and then David closes my eyes with his hands and we walked a little and then he let go of his hands. I was a little confused.

"Where are we?" David walks and stands in the middle.

"Do you like this place?"

I take a look around. It was beautiful and elegant. I loved the place."It's great. It's big and a lot more than great."

"Welcome to our new home, Ava." He says smiling. I smile and go up to him jumping in his arms."It's wonderful."

"14 years of us being together yet I a still not used to your surprise hugs."

I laugh and I pull back looking around.

"The kids are growing up and I figured." He says and we just roam around the house. I agree. The kids were growing up. It feels like yesterday I gave birth to them. They were so small holding our fingers with their hands and now they were troublemakers.

"Yeah, they are growing up so fast and I would say the same about us. I feel like it was yesterday I met you at the bar and now we are married and parents to three children."

David places his arms on my waist and I put my arms around his neck and he kisses me. I smile and then he whispers."It's because Time Flies when I am with you."
