1 Isekai'd, Meeting God

I woke up, feeling groggy and exhausted. The décor of the room was the same old light blue with a dash of periwinkle.

I'm home, finally. Time lag is real thing. It shouldn't be belittled.

I turned around in bed and checked the time and date today.

5:56 AM, October 12, Year 4001. It was Monday.

Another new day. Time to get to work. Heh. Time. What a concept. I really wish I can control it. How easy would my life be?

After taking a bath, I headed to the living room and prepared breakfast. I then brushed my teeth after eating my breakfast and hurried down the stairs, with my watch and briefcase at hand.

"Let's head to the office then," I mumbled. I immediately contorted my face to show a happy smile, a smile I don't usually show when heading to work.

It's a special occasion I guess. After all, I just closed a large deal with a multinational company. I hope the bonus I get wouldn't be too small.

I headed out of the door, waiting for the next mag-rail to be arrive near my apartment.

As I boarded the mag-rail, I picked seat by the window and gazed at the rapidly-changing scene outside; from the modernized, upscale buildings of various designs that only convoluted architects would create, to the open sea channel where the mutated school of fishes swimming in an idyllic manner, before it all turned back to the modernized, upscale buildings once more.

I hear the mag-rail speaker tell the stop, and I stood up, like countless times before, and headed out. With the integration of nanochips in our bodies, everything became simpler and streamlined.

Just another day, another day of slaving for money.

As I was passing the pedestrian lane that was a few blocks from my work, I suddenly felt a chill. Like, my entire being froze at that moment.

Something bad was going to happen. I don't know how it will be appearing, or when it will appear, but its there.

Fuck. What a way to ruin the day, I muttered to myself. Ever since he was a child, he already had these premonitions; and when they happen, disaster was never too far off.

As I was immersed in these thoughts, I didn't see the rock that was jutting out near the opposite side of the pedestrian lane.

My foot slipped, and caused an imbalance in my movements and led to me falling down to the ground.

Ouch.

It didn't hurt as much as the derailed mag-rail that hit me right after.

----------------------------------------------

Fuck.

Am I dead?

Why can't I see anything?

Because you are dead, stupid. You don't have eyes.

Oh right. Wait. Who is this speaking?

This is your inner conscience.

Nice try. I don't have one. Now who is this really?

Tsk. What a downer.

It is I, god.

Oh wow. There's really a god?

Well, one of the gods.

Cool beans.

Wha-? That's it, that's your reaction to the news?

Um, yeah, I guess.

Really, what a downer. Anyways, I'm here talking to you because you died unjustly. Paolo Verhadt, age 28 years. You weren't supposed to die at that time; you were supposed to die 15 years later, after you got married and had a child via in-vitro. Spoiler: The one that kills you was supposed to be your other boyfriend you hid from your wife, who is coincidentally her gay best friend. Oof, what a drama.

Oh. Damn.

Yep, so I'm here to rectify that by allowing you to reincarnate in a world of your choosing as well as well as grant you 2 abilities that are within my power, of any rank.

Cool. Another chance in life then.

So what ability will it be? Hurry up because I don't have much time to waste with you.

Hmm....

I guess, the ability of complete control over space-time?

As for the second one... I guess, complete regeneration would be great.

..?

…Hmm. So you chose that set of abilities...

Why, what's wrong?

That's such a neet thing to do, to be honest. Really, complete control over space-time? as well as regeneration? Are you really afraid of dying?

No not really. I'm just afraid I'll get hurt.

I don't like getting hurt.

Oh well, suit yourself. As a bonus I'll transform your innate premonition ability into a system, like you know, those that exist in isekai novels~ because of the wishes you chose, you cannot go back to the mundane world, and as such, I'll transport you to a world of magic! Ta-ta!

Wait, I thought-

Thought you could go back to your world or a parallel of it and reincarnate there? Fat chance. Too much OPness. We have rules, ya know? Your universe didn't have any inkling about magic and element particles, anyways, since it's not how its designed, so rules are different. Adding you into the fray would cause the whole system to go kaput, or worse, kill you the moment you cast a spell.

Anyhow, you're designated in Universe 25-Planet #86,960,956,364,371,917,287. Good luck and enjoy your stay! When you die there, you become part of that universe and your soul will be recycled there, so be strong enough to break from the rules~

Wait, I have questions on-

poof!

Before I even manage to ask more questions, I felt a pulling motion that I couldn't resist, before a deep sleep came over me.

…Sigh, another one then. Morpheus, Morpheus, what are you up to this time...

A voice echoed in the vast expanse of nothingness, before a snicker could be heard.

"Tick tock, tick tock, things are coming in a spot! Better get a nice seat, and add a nice view, because the play will soon begin~" A childish voice rang throughout that vast expanse of nothingness.

"Oh, Amadeus, Amadeus, stuck on job with no end in sight. Won't you join my play? I promise it will bring you endless delights~" the childish voice continued to echo, and Amadeus, the god being mocked, shouted,

"Silence!" Immediately, the vast expanse collapsed into nothingness, and Amadeus' full glory was revealed in the void. Yet, the source of the childish voice could not be found. Amadeus tried very hard, utilizing the powers within the domain and even beyond, but failed in every attempt.

He sighed for a bit before disappearing, causing the empty void to resume its peace.

Eteria planet, Year 2050, Day 100.

The planet's civilizations have already advanced to the post-modern age, with high-end technology mixing with a magic history spanning the beginning of life in the planet.

In the dark, night sky, a falling star appeared, causing numerous magicians with abilities of premonition to talk about the star.

Almost every magician who had dabbled in the magic of fate in every country saw it as the omen of change.

Change... Was coming to their planet.

A cataclysmic change that would usher numerous chain reactions in the lying undercurrents. Whatever that change may bring, whether it be disaster or fortune, is still unknown. Ancient history, both hidden and forgotten, shall resurface and bare its fangs to the tender saplings of civilization… yet is it simply limited to the secrets of this planet?

With one wrong move, everything is saved; with another, all is damned to pure destruction.

Within that bright, pulsating star, however, a small glimmer seemed to be hidden away, rapidly merging into the world, and vanishing without any trace or presence.

On this day, a new life was conceived, carrying with it a force of auspiciousness and mystery. Today, the journey in a new universe begins for Paolo!
