Sitting bolt upright, she gasped and looked around. She was panting. Her heart was pounding in her chest. What was going on? Where was she? CHAPTER 24: Mr Gorgeous

Togon stared out of the classroom after Gabe left, wondering if he should go after her. This was bad, he had expected everything to be fine with Gabe around, but Gabe was not going to help him. Well, never mind. Maybe he should just start learning how to be less dependent on her and more self-reliant.

At the back of the classroom, a group of girls were crowding around, gossiping and ogling at Togon.

"He's absolutely gorgeous. Look at those sharp features and flawless skin!" Jenelle said, nudging against Crystal with her shoulders.

"What do you think he's like? What if he is just like his cousin Gabe, cold and rude?" Crystal asked.

"Don't make assumptions, just go talk to him to find out!" Kelsey said, shoving Crystal in Togon's direction.

Crystal stumbled forward, before righting herself and approaching Togon, who was staring at the doorway absentmindedly.

"Hello, my name is Crystal. You must be feeling lost. Do you want me to show you around the school?"

Togon turned to face her. He was about to go and explore the school by himself as part of his plan for self-reliance. He was actually going to make a show of it so that Gabe could see how he could actually survive in this world without her. But still, he might need a guide in this unfamiliar environment.

"I don't see why not," Togon replied, putting on a charming smile that could captivate almost anyone, "Thank you."

Crystal was unable to resist his delightfully enchanting smile and was swooning at the sight of it. "Ah, it's no big deal. I'm glad that I could be of help."

Crystal led Togon around the school, showing him the important rooms while rambling on about her favorite pop stars. Togon had no idea what she was talking about, so he only nodded and smiled politely.

Soon, they had gone around the school campus and returned to the classroom.

"And also, the school once invited Caleb Cheung and Marinda Song to perform for a school assembly program, and it was awesome! You should have been there to see what a big hit it was. Everyone was still talking about it for the next few weeks." Crystal jabbered.

"Wow! I wish I was there!" Togon replied even though he had no idea who Caleb and Marinda were. He was beginning to feel nervous that he might say something wrong and people would find out who he actually was.

"Do you know Lucy Edwards? She's the-" Crystal continued until Togon cut her off.

"Well, we're back in class. Thank you for your time. It was nice chatting with you," Togon lied through his teeth with another charming smile.

"Oh, it's no problem! Is it okay if I move my seat to the table beside you so that I can help you out in class if there's anything you need?" Crystal asked, pressing her luck.

"Umm, sure," Togon replied hesitantly. Crystal was a nice girl, but he needed someone who could help him, not someone who hindered him with her endless chatter.

"Okay, let me shift my belongings to the seat beside you," Crystal said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Immediately after Crystal left Togon, the rest of the girls crowded around her.

"So how was it?" They asked excitedly.

"He's so charismatic! And he's even attentive and tender-hearted! Very much unlike his cousin," Crystal replied dreamily, "I'm going to be sitting next to him from now on."

"What?? That's unfair! Give us a chance too!"

"No way, I'm never going to give up my seat! Not in a million years," Crystal replied haughtily.

With nothing to do in the classroom, Togon eyed the chattering girls and left, deciding that he was going to try to find Gabe after all.
