14 Hall Hospital

After lightening up the atmosphere by cracking some jokes he heard on the Earth, Luke's mother's facial gradually brightened and now can smile at him. Seeing his attempt was successful, Luke clenched his fist in satisfaction inwardly.

"Gosh, where do you learn to put up jokes like that?" Luke's mother said as she wiped the remaining tears on the corner of her eyes not knowing whether it's sad tears or tears due to laughing heartily.

"I heard it on the internet. You should surface more on the internet more, mom. They're funny." Luke replied before inquired curiously, "By the way, how the school's decision, mom? They aren't making a hard time for you, right?"

Luke's mother recalled for a moment before shaking her head, "Surprisingly, no. They cooperate with me well. Even so, their decision can be considered as bad."

'It must be due to Mister Morgan's subordinate's interfere.' Luke thought to himself before asking, "What? What kind of punishment did they choose upon me?"

Looking at Luke's face which only full of curiosity, without a single of fear or panic, Luke's mother sighs of relief inwardly before purposely dragged her words, "They...."

"Theeey???"

"They decided to expel you!" Luke's mother exclaimed as she raised her arms and swaying them as a gesture of happiness.

'What the heck?' Luke's face couldn't be painted anymore once hearing his mother laugh. Why the hell my mother so happy about me being dropped out? Isn't every mother supposed to angry or sad upon hearing such news? Luke immediately raised his hand against his mother's forehead.

"Are you sick, mom? Your temperature is normal, but why do you act like a ment-, cough, sick person?" Luke coughed to change his words to the softer ones.

"You're about to say mother is acting like a mental person, don't you?" Luke coughed in embarrassment when his mother caught him red-handed.

"Of course not, mom! Why would I curse my own mother? My mother is the healthiest and smartest person in this world." Luke said in an exaggerated manner.

Luke's mother immediately giggled upon hearing his son trying hard to hide from her accusations, "Stop it, Luke. Anyway, I'm so happy for you because you'll not suffer anymore in that despicable school."

Luke feels heart warmth because of her words. Yes, although the past can't be changed with Aine Luke dead on it. Earth Luke could write his own future with the people he loved. He prayed inwardly that wherever Aine Luke's soul is, he could witness the journey of Earth Luke on his body.

Luke snapped out from his thought and smiled delightedly, "I'm also happy, mom."

After heart-to-heart talk, Luke and his mom continued talking until the alarm on his mother's mom beeped.

"Oh! I almost forget to pick up your dad. We should hurry now." Luke's mother immediately went to her room to pick up some necessities while Luke waited in the living room.

...

"Let's go." Luke heard his mother's voice after waiting for her in ten minutes. Looking at her appearance, Luke was stunned for a moment. Wearing a fashionable sleeveless black turtle-neck, her mother looks younger than before. Instead of putting on a boring long skirt like she usually does, she is currently wearing a soft-fabric medium-brown trouser, featuring her skinny legs and making it look longer.

"Mom! What kind of ghost did possess you now?" Luke blurted out in surprise. Seeing his mother dressed beautifully like a teenager, Luke was caught off guard.

Blushing in embarrassment, Luke's mother retorted as she is putting a brown coat with multiple pockets to cover her exposed skin, "Why can't I? Dressing and make-up was most women's hobby." she paused before continuing, "Anyway, I haven't seen your father for a long time, so, I must use this chance to appear gorgeously in front of him."

Ever since his father was hospitalized, he and his mother rarely visited him due to each matter we had to solve. Looking back at those facts, his mother certainly wanted to pay back for those missed opportunities. Smiling to her, Luke teased, "I didn't know you had this side of you, mom."

"You brat!" Luke's mother chided as she is pulling out his ear.

"Ouch! Ouch! I forfeit! I wouldn't dare to tease you ever again!" Luke yelled painfully.

"Serves you right!" Luke's mother glared at him before urged him, "Come on! We were already late because of the fuss you created."

'How come it's my fault when you who takes a long time for applying make-ups and dressing.' Luke thought inwardly but didn't dare voice his thought, afraid of being beaten by his mother again.

Since the distance between their house and hospital is quite far. Luke's mother decided to call an auto-cab for their transportation. Luckily, they didn't have to wait for a long time. Just in a minute, a white car suddenly parked in front of them. Before Luke able to land his hand onto the door handle, the door magically opened by itself.

Startling by such a scene, Luke was rendered immobile for a while before his mother nudged him to enter.

Get into the inside. Luke was immediately greeted by the sight of comfy seats and an elegant bluish futuristic interior. Like a country boy, Luke glued his face over the window throughout the journey. Were it not for Luke's mother reminder. Luke wouldn't even bother to fasten his seatbelt. The most exciting part was, the steering wheel was moving by itself. Yes, like the name it's stated, Autocab was a cab driven automatically. Therefore, instead of hiring a human as a driver, they replaced it with an AI.

The first generation was actually removed the steering wheel from the car. But an accident occurred due to AI received some system bugs, costing the passenger heavily injured. From then on, the steering wheel was provided for an emergency purpose, just in case, the system got bugged again.

Watching her child, who was acting as if discovering something new. Luke's mother narrowed her eyes silently before retracting her gaze and closed her eyes. Luke, oblivious to this, continued his sightseeing.

Luke was dragged out from his own world upon hearing the auto cab announcement, "We've arrived at the destination."

Stepping out of the car, Luke was struck dumb by how many statues were present on each side of the road. Each statue was dressing like a roman soldier with their mighty sword pointed onto the air as if granting blessing to people who were walking down on this street.

After a minute of walking, Luke and his mother finally arrived at a huge roundabout fountain with many people occasionally takes a photo in front of it. As he shifted his eyes from the fountain, Luke's eyes went wide at the view before his eyes. In front of him stood erect a tall silvery building with an uncountable floor. A pair of huge wing emblem was attached to its centre, giving people a sense of security as if an angel silently watched them. Directly above the wings was a title majestically carved, "HALL HOSPITAL"

"Come on," Luke's mother urged him.

After passing by the huge fountain, they were greeted by the sight of pillars stationed on each side the same way as the statue of roman soldiers from before. When Luke stared at the pillars dazedly, he heard his mother speak, "Look in front of you."

Hauling his eyes from the statues into the front view, Luke once again flabbergasted. It was a statue of a gorgeous woman with her hair fluttered down whilst a pair of wings were spread beautifully behind her back like a peacock.

"That's the legendary Transcender Rank One, Alice Hall." Luke's mother stated beside him.

"From the stories I've heard, Alice Hall was a Transcender with the ability of healing. It was said, during the great world war, our alliance casualties could be suppressed to a minimum due to her ability."

"After the war between the three races subsided, Alice Hall returned and established a health foundation. From then on, Hall Health Foundation always builds a hospital where poor people like us could get health treatment for free. Picking up from Alice's last name "Hall," the building concept of every Hall Hospital would always look like a hall with many massive pillars stood."

With Luke's mother filled their journey with her stories, they eventually arrived in front of the entrance gate. Before they were permitted to enter, the guards were inspecting their belonging first before giving them access to enter the building.

Arriving at the main lobby, Luke's eyes darted around here and there scanning his surrounding before asking his mother beside him, "Which floor does dad stay on, mom?"

Since he rarely visited his father, even with past Luke's memory intact, he couldn't still recall it slightest.

"Floor 12, follow me." Luke obediently followed his mother as he didn't want to get lost at such a vast place.

Passing by many people who seems immersed in their own business, Luke and his mother made their way to the nearest elevator. Pressing the elevator button, Luke tapped his foot on the floor repeatedly and pulling his drawstring hoodie back up and down.

He only stopped his action upon hearing the sound of the elevator open. Stepping inside, Luke leaned against the wall and slowly closed his eyes as he waited until the elevator arrived at his familiar yet unfamiliar father's floor.

"Ding!" The sound of the elevator's arrival echoed within the narrow space.

Noticing how his son kept losing in thought upon reached the hospital. Luke's mother clasped her son's hands, silently giving encouragement.

Realizing his mother's intention, Luke startled for a moment before a smile broke on his face, "I'm okay, mom. Let's go."

They passed through a few wards before halted at ward 4.
