Brain Gains

His leg just twitched slightly, move to the left, roll behind then strike. Off balance now, means its time to end it sprint into his guard and pierce. I watch as the clone falls before me, it's body turning to dust before a lights shines in front of the arena gate it keeps coming from.

"Congrats boss man! You've finally learned to control your primal instincts and think logically like a warrior. Combined those skills will help you immensely outside of this place and due to your hard work you actually unlocked something special that can have actual effects. Check your logs." Wake says happily as I take a deep breathe and nod towards him as I unmute my logs reading the several notifications.

{You have defeated Clone of Gladiator Merling Wake on the highest difficulty. Congratulations!}

{Due to repeated defeats and deaths in your mind you've gained the passive skill Unbreakable Will!}

[Unbreakable Will]-(Rarity:Mythic Effect: Due to repeated meetings with death you no longer fear that which you know. In battle all negative mental effects will be reduced by 98% and as the battle prolongs your opponents will break upon your will.]

{Congratulations! You have fought through 1874 mental battles against an opponent that far out scopes your abilities. Due to your unending fight through pain and torment all mental resistances to psychic and charm attacks are now 100%. {You have unlocked the Gladiators Bout! This new training mode allows you to fight against a single Boss monster you have defeated once every seven days. Defeat results in being locked out of the Bout and you suffer a debuff for 24 hours. Victory gains you a random award of the following categories. Weapons & Armor, Potions, Skills, Titles, Companions, Random.}

{Due to unlocking the Gladiators Bout at such a low level you are allowed one free fight with no negative effects if defeated.(First ones free my dude-Toma)}

"Holy hell in a hand basket...I knew training like this would help me get stronger but now any kind of negative mental effect is almost none and I'm immune to charms and psy attacks....and on top of that this Bout deal sounds amazing but at the same time insanely difficult if they're all Boss Monsters. Wake you can see this info to right? What's the deal with the Bout." I yell over as I make my way to him, an excited smile on my face.

"Pretty simple actually, any boss creature you've defeated in a fight regardless of the means can appear in this arena as an opponent. Each of them having a different difficulty but the only thing they all have in common is that each has a set level as well as are at the best they could have been for their level. For example lets take that blight that killed me. You bring him up he'll have full health and mana as well as fight at 100% potential meaning he wont get distracted with talking, his skills will be maxed for his level and he'll be able to use them to his fullest making him a lot more dangerous than before. Each Boss is built this way to teach you how to fight an actual opponent that's on your level as well as to push you to break your limits. The better you do against that opponent the better the reward. I recommend you do one now since your actual body is finally healed that way if you happen to win you'll get a reward but if you lose the worst that happens is you finally wake up. So whaddya say?" He asks with a cocky smile as he see's a smile bloom across my face and I nod.

"Gladiators Bout acknowledged! Please Choose your Opponent:

1-Don Juan Demousso Level 20 Wight(Difficulty-Medium)

2- Vargo Level 20 Gnoll Chieftain(Difficulty-High)

3- Guardian of the Fields Level 20 Undead Treant(Difficulty-High)

4-Vine Blight Level 20 Blighted Guardian(Difficulty-Suicidal)

5-Snog Level 20 Mace Tailed Flail Snail (Difficulty-Suicidal)

'Hmm I'm surprised that it has the actual names and titles of these five and even more shocked that the Treant and Snail are considered bosses but seeing as I just want to test this out lets go with trusty ol Don Juan!' I think as I select my old nemesis, watching as Wake and Dawn are teleported into the stands and one of the side gates opens.

Watching the gate I smile as a cold mist seeps out of the gate followed by eerie shrieks from the dead before the large mouse man steps out but this time he looks different. Before his wight body was emaciated and parts of his hide and skin were rotted away, his eyes filled with hatred as he absorbed the energy of the dead around him to swell his muscles, but the creature stepping out of the gates is vastly superior. Instead of a gaunt undead, a well muscled warrior stands in front of me. Leather armor with chainmail sewn across the outside covers his body as bulging muscle ripple from his shoulders to his feet. His fur is still white and pale but instead of sickly its almost silver and shines with an ethereal glow. His eyes shine with a blue flame instead of the hate filled red from the past and as he looks at me I can see respect and confidence in his gaze instead of rage. As he stands in front of the gate a wolf head cane is in his hand as he places it in front of him, one hand on top of the can while the other hand rests atop his first.

{Warning! Due to repeated defeats this opponent recalls its life. Although it is controlled it can talk and interact meaning it may or may not be more dangerous!}

"So small one! Not even killing me a second time was enough to leave me be but instead you summon me here for what? To sharpen yourself against? So be it but before we begin allow me to say something. I understand now why you slaughtered my family. We attacked your clan and by law of the strong you had every right. So thank you for showing me mercy and ending my torment after my hatred and rage had brought me back. In exchange I offer you three things. One is you may use me as a training partner here whenever you'd like and I shall not hold back. Second is when you leave this place for the outside world you will have knowledge of everywhere in the underground where I have been in my lifetime. There are tribes of creatures, ferocious beasts, hidden treasures and even an entrance to the Underworld down there. Third and finally this place told me that since I have forgiven you that it can bring my soul into this world to help you. When you get back to your village find my skull in your trophy room and touch it. You may have the option to preserve what remains of my soul and if so I believe I could be of use in helping you in some way." The wight says calmly as it folds its hand of the fist that rest atop the cane and bows his head.

"I'm actually glad to see you at peace and I will think upon it. Now, shall we begin this battle?" I ask as I pull my scimitar out and watch the wight nod his head and smile, the club glowing an ominous purple.
