Chapter 37: The Warmth of Stephen’s Home

Eric's POV

As the morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, I slowly opened my eyes and felt a warm presence beside me. It took me a moment to realize that Stephen was still here, lying next to me with his arm draped protectively over my waist.

I couldn't help but smile, the feeling of his touch sending shivers down my spine. It was a feeling I thought I had lost forever, but now it was back, stronger than ever before.

As if sensing my movement, Stephen stirred and turned towards me. His eyes sparkled with concern and love as he gently brushed his hand against my cheek.

"How are you feeling?" he asked softly, his voice filled with tenderness.

I sighed, feeling the weight of my emotions settling over me like a dark cloud. "Better, I guess," I said, my voice tinged with sadness. "I'm sorry," I added, my gaze falling away. "I didn't mean to disappear like that. Everything just felt so overwhelming, and I didn't know how to deal with it all."
