Ch 68: Rare Gift

"I cannot believe you two!" Mr. Collin was furious at Kai and Rome who were sitting at the front of his desk, from inside his empire estate office skyscraper building.

Four guardians stood aside broadly; two on each right and left position to Mr. Collin sitting at his desk. Only one guardian wore sunglasses from being a Light species type of vampire. All the men were dressed dashingly in their black luxury suits.

Kai was the only one who didn't wear a tie and his collar was open to reveal part of his shimmering chest and short-length gold chain necklace. That shone brightly up against his flawless golden tan skin. Around his right wrist, he wore a matching golden chain-link bracelet. His handsomely angelic glow would make any lady turn heads over and over again.

"Especially from you, Rome!" Mr. Collin furthermore ghasted at them. "You know after you make a kill you best clean it up! Now we have human authorities on the scene before my clan could get there!"

Unfazed, Rome chuckled, slouching sloppy in the chair. "It was all Kai's idea to throw the women in the road drain," Rome teasingly fibbed on Kai.

Then Kai and Rome started laughing absurdly. "That is the last time I let you use my road drain, Rome." Kai jokes, "Next time you can go find your own."

Rome crossed a mocking side glance at Kai furthermore messing around. "That's the last time I share my meal with you."

This made Kai and Rome crack up. Meanwhile, Mr. Collin and his guardians weren't amused in the least. He rubbed his temples, getting very disgruntled at Kai and Rome.

"Are you both done?" Mr. Collin seethed asking them in a disguised tone. That seemed calm but the reality was, Mr. Collin was far from calm.

Kai shook his head annoyed. "I can't see what the big deal is?"

Mr. Collin was livid with his youngest offspring. "You can't see what the problem is!" He shouts gnashing his fangs sharply out to make himself look more fearsome. "Now those human investigators could think you both killed Elena! Rome even knows there are ways to trace DNA. Our DNA comes back nonhuman! The sheriff and I have already covered up enough of your kills, Kai! Till both these victims slipped past us! Now information about the other victims we covered up somehow leaked all over the news!"

"You're acting as if you don't have the authority to stop information from leaking!" Kai snapped at his father.

But Mr. Collin hissed darkly. "These two girls you both killed come from healthy families and it's all over the media!"

Kai purposely rolled his eyes upward since he wasn't wearing shades at the moment. "That means nothing! He hissed back. "You have more power over these pathetic humans!"

Mr. Collin huffed to see his son didn't care. Kai could wipe out most of the human race and it wouldn't affect him. If he had it his way Kai would make humans into cattle. Like he had done before out of boredom during his fresh younger years.

"I am not saying I can't clean this up," Mr. Collin tried clarifying in a more settled method. "It's just more work for me and my clan to keep cleaning up after you. You are reckless and impulsive when you feed. It's going to take time to get the news off these cases."

Kai grinned evilly and his demeanor was darkly demonic. "I have a wonderful solution for that."

Mr. Collin and his guardians watched the dark glint in his eyes narrow in on them. Before Mr. Collin could ask what he meant. The door to his office opened and their eyes widened to see the young secretary Ms. Thorn come walking in. Her body was stiff as she walked with a glaze in her eyes.

"Kai!" Mr. Collin shouts in greater animosity. "You released her!"

Kai relaxed back in his chair as he mentally had Ms. Thorn trapped to his will. She has no control over her actions. By using his rare gift, he manipulated full control over her mind. Ms. Thorn was in a dark deadly trance. Everyone present in the office understood what was happening.

One of Kai's rare gifts was mind control over his prey. Depending on how deeply he wanted to control his prey, he could allow them to still comprehend what was happening or he could cut off their thoughts entirely. The young girl, Ms. Thorn was in a deep spell, so her conscience and mind were overridden by Kai.

Meanwhile, Rome was reminiscing about the old days when Kai used this rare gift on so many helpless victims. He could recall the deathly screams of those particular victims before Kai would kill them. Most of the time, Kai allowed them to have control of their thoughts, just not their actions. Rome always thought it was a brutal death for those individuals that he practiced. Since Kai had to master his gift once he discovered he could control others at age eighteen.

Although Rome could recall Kai wasn't happy about this first rare gift to control people. This gift was rare since vampires were hardly known to gain such a gift like. Rare or not, Kai was disappointed. He had the looks and charm to bring his prey in. So the gift was such a waste to him but Rome remembered Kai's second gift was far more useful and favored by him. Nevertheless, Kai mastered his first gift and made use of it anyway. Rome deeply thought, leaving his reflection on the past.

As of now, Rome was well aware that Ms. Thorn's fate to live was evidently doomed. These faint breaths she takes will be her last.

"I have a better idea," Kai's grin enlarged maliciously. "Why don't I have the young girl here jump off the skyscraper."

"Don't you even dare, Kia!" Hissed his father.

Kai only sneered more fridge "And why not?" He ignorantly asked. "That will surely be more than enough to grab the media's attention elsewhere."

Mr. Collin was livid yet worried. "Kai, you are to release her! She has a bright future ahead of her and a great purpose here!"

He watched the poor girl reach his desk.

"Like I care," Kai plainly said without an ounce of remorse. "She'll just be considered a wasted feast to me."

His father's glares narrowed viciously to him but he wasn't threatened. "I promise, she won't feel a thing. She won't even realize she's jumped to her death."

Kai's words came out venomously. That wicked glint in his eyes turned depravity. The grin on his lips marveled fiendishly.

Mr. Collin felt hot sweat on his brow for the poor girl held imprisoned to Kai. Kai snickered to see his father cared for the girl. It further disgusted him and raged his hatred.
