Will You Marry Me?

Andrea slowly let go of Ludwina. The man smiled in amusement when he saw the girl look disappointed. He poked Ludwina's nose and laughed.

"I promised your father to treat you with respect. I don't want to break my promise."

"You talked to my dad?" asked Ludwina in amazement.

"Yes. A few days ago, he stopped by Singapore and we had a chance to chat. I asked his permission before proposing to you."

Ludwina refilled her glass with prosecco and took a sip.

"Dad didn't say anything... Not fair!" she complained in annoyance.

"If your father told you, you'll run away and refuse to see me," said Andrea calmly. "I can't take the risk."

He then got down on one knee in front of Ludwina. Andrea took a small velvet box from his pocket and opened it in front of Ludwina.

The girl gasped, not expecting that Andrea would actually propose to her the old-school way, getting on one knee and holding up a ring.

"Ludwina Kurniawan, will you marry me and make me the happiest man in the world?"

Ludwina finally nodded and smiled as she replied, "Yes, Andrea."

Andrea put the ring on Ludwina's ring finger and held the girl happily.

"I am so happy to call you my wife. I am the happiest man in the world," he said, kissing Ludwina incessantly.

The girl laughed and gave Andrea a tight hug by the neck. The man carried her around the apartment and asked Ludwina's opinion on what furniture should be replaced after they got married.

"The bed should be replaced, I can't sleep if the mattress isn't the best memory foam," said Ludwina coyishly, pointing to the bed in Andrea's room. "Ahahaha... I'm kidding... I'm kiddiiing... pleaseeee... ahahahaha..."

Andrea pinched her waist and Ludwina screamed because of the tickle.

"You could sleep pretty well when we were in the hotels in Amsterdam and Paris," voiced Andrea.

Ludwina laughed with a grin, "That's why I said I was just kidding... ahahahaha..."

"Did you know that I could hardly sleep when we were in Paris?" Andrea asked her.

"Why?" asked Ludwina in puzzlement.

"Because you were sleeping next to me, and I couldn't do anything..." Andrea took a deep breath, "It was torture. The next time we travel together, I want us to be married, so I can do whatever I want with you."

Ludwina blinked. She just understood what Andrea meant, "No wonder... you looked like you were sleep-deprived when we were in Paris..."

"Your intention was noble, so that I don't have to pay expensive hotel rooms... but to be honest, I'd rather pay a lot of money than to endure that kind of torture ever again in the future." Andrea shook his head. He then kissed Ludwina again. "I am so happy you said yes."

"I am happy too."

The two of them were over the moon. Indeed, for Ludwina, Andrea's proposal was too fast, but she already knew the man very well and she had already fallen in love with him. Sooner or later, they'd talk about marriage, and she felt that whether they talked about it now or later won't make any difference.

She was elated that Andrea was willing to compromise and not demand that she bear him children. Ludwina felt that she herself was still young and couldn't possibly take care of small humans. Moreover, she heard that giving birth was very painful... She didn't want to be forced to give birth by anyone, including Andrea.

Fortunately, Andrea understood her and accepted her everything without protest.

This man was indeed a dream husband.

Ludwina felt very lucky.

Because it was very late at night and Andrea couldn't drive due to the several glasses of wine he drank, they decided that Ludwina didn't have to check-in at the Raffles hotel as usual.

"Just stay here tonight, let me get your suitcase from the car..."

Ludwina, who already finished her prosecco, could only nod. She was already tipsy and was approaching a hangover. Andrea, who only drank half a glass of prosecco after finishing two glasses of wine, was still very much sober and took the initiative to go down to the basement parking lot to get Ludwina's suitcase so that the girl could change her clothes before going to bed.

When Andrea came back with Ludwina's suitcase, the girl had already fallen asleep on the sofa with an empty glass in her left hand.

Andrea shook his head with a smile. He unlocked Ludwina's suitcase and took out the silk pajamas from it. He changed Ludwina's clothes into comfortable pajamas and he changed into a casual T-shirt and shorts.

After putting their dirty clothes in the washing machine, he cleaned the living room of the wine and glasses, then carried Ludwina into his room.

Andrea laid Ludwina on the bed and turned on the air conditioner. He covered the girl's body with a duvet before sneaking in and hugging her. They both slept peacefully.

Ludwina woke up very late. She didn't see that the sun was already shining high above because the window was closed by a blackout curtain. Looking around, she found her phone on the bedside table, and she noticed that it was just a little past 12 pm.

"My God... it's 12 o'clock?" she exclaimed, startled. She got up and looked around, "Where am I?"

Slowly, everything that happened last night returned to her memory. She remembered them drinking red wine, then she finished nearly a bottle of prosecco, and Andrea's confession... and... oh my...

She just remembered that Andrea had proposed to her, and Ludwina said yes.

She saw the pajamas on her body and suddenly realized that Andrea had changed her clothes last night before going to sleep.

Gosh...

"Andreaa...." she called in a weak voice, "Where are you?"

Andrea rushed into the room with a tray filled with a glass of orange juice and a bowl of soup.

"Hey... you're awake. Let's have breakfast first. I made hangover soup for you. You must be having a headache since you drank a lot last night."

He sat on the bed beside Ludwina and put the tray on the table. He handed the glass of orange juice to her, and Ludwina drank it up.

"Thank you... I am really thirsty..." She felt very grateful. Indeed, her head was dizzy and her throat felt very thirsty.

Andrea arrived with juice and soup was like an angel for Ludwina, "What is that?"

"It's hangover soup, I read the recipe on Google. Hopefully, your head won't be dizzy anymore after you eat this. Let me feed you."

Ludwina felt very pampered.

"You should have prevented me from drinking as much as I did yesterday. How could I finish a bottle of prosecco alone? It's not fair..."

Andrea laughed, "Because I was afraid you'd refuse my proposal... That's why I let you drink. Come, open your mouth... Ahh..."

Ludwina opened her mouth and swallowed a spoonful of soup from Andrea. "Umm..."

"You haven't forgotten, have you? You said yes last night..." said Andrea while delivering the second spoonful of soup. "Don't pretend you don't remember."

"Remember what?" asked Ludwina, pretending with rounded eyes, "What did you say last night?"

"Ludwinaaaa..."

"Ahahaha... I'm just kidding... just kidding..."

She laughed out loud when Andrea landed a long passionate kiss on her lips.

Ludwina had never felt this happy in her life. She had absolutely no objection to being Andrea's wife.

In fact, she couldn't wait to move to Singapore and make Andrea's home her home.

Aww...
