1 Chapter 1: The Visitor

H-hi there. My name is Gui Rowan Hawk...

I'm an earth elf, and I'm 159 years old. That may sound old, but I'm actually pretty young.

It's a slightly chilly fall day here in Sia'Eileamadien. Just as I was about to begin helping my mom in the kitchen, I heard a knock on the door. "I'll get it..." I said as my mom began chopping vegetables.

I opened the round wooden door to see the face of my best friend and crush. Stardust. "H-hi Stardust!" I chimed, trying not to let my face flush. "Hey Gui, how ya doin'?" He asked with a large smile plastered to his handsome face. "I-I'm fine..., how are you?" I muttered, allowing him inside.

"I'm doin' ok." He says, stroking his midnight blue hair. He pauses for a moment before he turns his attention to my mother who is focused in the kitchen. "Hello Mrs.Hawk." He says with another award-winning smile. "Oh, hello Stardust!" My mother beamed. "What brings you here on this fine day?" She asked, still chopping vegetables.

"I just came over to see my best friend in the whole wide world is all." Again with the smile... My mother is the only one that knows about my crush on Stardust, and my sexuality. She never asked, because she knew. We have a very strong bond. "That's splendid, would you like to stay for lunch?" My mother asked, seemingly trying to get us closer.

"That sounds amazing, thank you." Stardust chuckled. All the while, I was sitting there awkwardly, thinking about all of the scenarios that could make my dreams come true...

There was another knock, or rather, knocks on the front door of the tree.

"I-I'll get it." I muttered. As I opened the front door, I screamed and started shaking.

Of course My mother and Stardust raced over to see what the problem was. My mother gasped loudly, yet I didn't hear a peep from Stardust. His eyes were the size of dinner plates though.

In the front door, stood a boy with tall purple hair, and grey skin. Seemingly normal for an elf, right? No. While his hair and skin looked normal, his eyes were black as night with odd looking purple swirls in them. He had large spiraling horns on top of his head. There was a black mark on his neck that looked like a flame. His tail was spaded as a demons's usually is, and from his back grew large wings of purple and grey.

"W-what are you?" I asked, trying to be brave. "G-Gui help.... it's me- Akai." The monster sputtered.

"Akai?!" My mother, Stardust and I all shouted at once. Akai nodded and winced. My mother rushed him inside the door, gently folding his wings so he could fit. Stardust and I stood by watching my cousin. That's right...my cousin.

"Akai...w-what happened to you?" I stuttered. My eyes filled with tears at the sight of my cousin in this state.

"....Azther." He whispered, tears forming in his eyes. His tears were a thick, dark purple liquid. He really has changed. Stardust helped him sit down as my mother got a pail of water and a rag. She wiped the dirt from his long ears and his forehead. It seemed that he had stumbled his way here.

"You mean- k-king Azther???" My mother and I were beginning to shake with fear. Before I knew it, I had collapsed on the floor, and the world went black.
