12 Chapter 12: Blade of Poison

Jin's head felt slightly dizzy after the attack.

But more importantly, the attacker was finally revealed from under his black veil.

A man, clad in black tactical attire, had an imposing physique with bulging muscles.

Multiple scars blemished his mouth and eyes, masking his otherwise ruggedly handsome features.

[Your body has been injured and you are poisoned by an unknown poison!]

[The effect of your skill Regeneration (Passive) has been triggered!]

[The poison has been removed!]

"Wh-" the muscled man started to speak, but Jin's next action caught him completely off guard.

BANG-!

Jin acted without hesitation, pulling his shotgun that had been aimed toward the attacker, who was seemingly unaware of it.

Following that, the attacker was flung at a fast speed, crashing into the display shelf before having his back collide with something thick and sturdy.

"Gah!" A gasp of surprise escaped the man's lips, accompanied by a spurt of blood from his mouth.

The shotgun, designed for close-range encounters, ensured that anyone hit by it would meet instant death.

Jin had aimed flawlessly, intending to leave the man's skull shattered and disfigured.

He anticipated a large, ragged hole where the entry wound was, but to his surprise, the man was still breathing, defying the odds.

"Well... well... well, you're quite resilient, aren't you?" Jin remarked, reloading the shotgun shell as he approached the ambusher.

Even though the man had managed to narrowly avoid death, Jin's shot had inflicted severe vital damage.

The sheer force of the blast violently pushed the man's arms aside, resulting in devastating injuries to his head, face, and upper body.

The shotgun pellets tore through flesh, pulverized bone, and caused catastrophic harm, leaving the man unconscious, his body slumped against the sturdy door.

However, Jin's eyebrows raised as his ears caught several loud noises.

"Boss!"

"Caught you, bastard!" Not even a gap to break was given after the noises, as several flashlights pointed and surrounded him from both sides.

Jin was trapped between the display shelf.

All guns were pointed at him, and Jin, who glanced toward his front and back, frowned deeply.

"Glock 19..." Jin murmured upon noticing all the men here were wielding the same pistols.

His eyes squinted due to the numerous flashlights pointed at him, and he turned to deafen his ears upon hearing their cursing and threatening.

Instead...

After glancing at these people's weapons, his attention shifted to the rack of display shelves, where it mostly consisted of household essentials.

"They are useless, but..."

However, just as his mind was racking a way to leave these people who were shouting at him, they suddenly stopped.

All of their eyes pointed toward the direction behind him, or where the ambusher—or their so-called boss—was lying unconsciously after being hit by Jin's shotgun.

"The Blood Slaves..."

Someone murmured in a low tone, but in this quiet and dark atmosphere, his words rang throughout the entire area.

"Immediately retreat!" The boss, who should have been fainted, was now shouting loudly and smiling at Jin.

"You are fucked!" he said those last words before many multiple pairs of red eyes emerged from behind him.

SWOOSH-!

While these people were still dumbfounded, processing their boss's command, Jin, who had been surrounded, used this opportunity.

BANG-!

The gunshot was heard and the thick and sturdy iron door, where the boss used to lean, was completely opened by Jin's shot.

GRRR-!

Following after that, several hoarse human screams were heard from inside. Simultaneously, several figures flashed before them.

Fresh blood was drawn and sparks of fire were seen firing from their guns.

"Fire! Shoot these monsters! Kill them!" Their eyes burned with the intention to kill.

They knew they couldn't escape, so they shot with the guns in their hands.

Countless empty bullet casings stacked up on the ground.

Their skills were shown as they quickly replaced the old magazines with new ones.

GRRR-!

Screams of Blood Slaves mixed with their comrades, but they kept firing.

….

Meanwhile, Jin, the culprit, was already running towards the building's exit.

He slightly turned his head, only to see more than twenty Blood Slaves running after him.

Behind those twenty Blood Slaves, more than fifty or even a hundred of them were feasting on the corpses of the gangs.

"The number of Blood Slaves...crazy....No wonder these people had a high level," Jin concluded inwardly.

The mystery was finally solved.

Those black curtains covered the windows...the reason why this supermarket opened...

The reason why all of the lights shut off...

And the reason why these people were so strong...

Who knew they actually farmed Blood Slaves and caged them like animals.

...

After a moment of running, the warm sunlight touched his skin and the blinding light entered his familiar vision.

"Finally...I'm out..." Jin gasped. But then, a realization struck him.

SWOOSH-!

Relying upon his instinct, he tried to move his body, but his reaction was too late.

SPROUT-!

A bullet pierced through his shoulder in an unprotected area of his vest.

Pressing against the gushing blood coming from his shoulder, his head turned to the side where the flickering light from the sniper scope entered his range of vision.

In addition, the clear and vast empty main road was now filled with cars - clean and brand new cars that looked like they had just arrived.

"Their reinforcement..." Jin murmured inwardly.

Without wasting more time, he jumped into the cover of these cars, using them as a shield against the sniper's vision.

BROOM-!

As he took cover, a shadow suddenly flashed above him and landed right in front of him.

"Hop in, fast!"
