Dream Killed

"Well, this creep kidnapped me and brought me to this cave-like thing. Then he kept calling me his wife and held me here for a while." Patricia said while bending down and observing Reed's body.

"Interesting, so why did he take you anyway? And that still doesn't exactly explain why he's so close to dying." I questioned Patricia while seeing Reed's health slowly increasing.

'Good, he'll live.' I thought before sitting down on the ground exhausted. After all, stamina is one of my lowest stats.

"Well I don't know why he kidnapped me, but I do know what happened to him…I beat him up well, I know that for a fact. After all last time, he had the advantage of surprise but now that we were face to face again I made sure to repay the favor." Patricia said while raising her fist in the air in triumph.

'She's a terrible liar, and though I hate having the credit of my handy work stolen, I wouldn't out myself for such.' I thought while inching closer to Reed's body with one goal in my mind.

And when I finally made it, I placed my hand on his head like I was checking his temperature. Though secretly I was using Ki drain.

'It might stop his healing but he's close to being at full health so he shouldn't die. Plus all his wounds have closed, if he had the ability to heal like this in our fight well then I would have lost.'

'Reed, you were truly a worthy opponent, but even prodigies like you meet their end sometimes.' I thought after receiving two notifications from the system.

'Ding!'

[You have absorbed 30 points of Ki!]

[Ki Needed: 220!]

'Ah I forgot that the needed amount of Ki this time around is very absurd!'

"Looks like he's done healing Marcel, so we should get out of here while we can. And where's Autumn?" She asked while getting up and standing above me.

While looking up at Patricia I noticed the mailbox icon with a new number one attached to it. As I answered her question, I stood up and clicked on the icon.

While trying to make it look as if I was swatting a fly.

"Well Autumn turned out to be a spy for The Golden and we just happened to get her inside of our group. And she gathered up a bunch of instructors to ambush me when I awoke but obviously I escaped." I said while reading the system message.

[You have received 40 skill point experience, 40/10, which is equal to four total skill points.]

[You have received 4 Skill points!]

'Only four?!' I thought while my face showed signs of outrage.

'I guess Autumn's trickery really made him mad.' Patricia thought while slowly walking away.

"Are you coming?" Patricia asked as her feet came to a stop.

"Yep I don't want to hang around here too long, who knows how much noise the two of you caused."

'A humanoid beast, father never spoke of such a beast. And it's power was unbelievable, if it hadn't spared that man then he would have been a goner. Come to think of it, if the man died then I guess I would have been next.' As Patricia thought that a shiver ran up her spine.

'So many things have gone wrong in my life but I won't let it affect my future line of work. I'll prove to father as I take him down personally in the field that I was a capable daughter!'

'And with mothers help, I've been progressing quite quickly but not nearly as fast as my brother.' She thought before speaking with me.

"By the way Marcel, the man had a bunch of lackeys with him. I wonder what all they came here to do?"

At the word lackeys, my greed took over and I just had to ask Patricia about their whereabouts.

"Where are these lackeys exactly?"

"I can show you or we can head to a cool spot I've found."

"The lackeys."

"Alright."

After a short conversation Patricia and I both headed back to the area where she had fought the others.

And to our surprise, both of the men were still laying flat on the ground.

"What, why haven't the instructors come to pick them up?"

'Could this be another ambush?'

"Well anyway we're here now, so you can do all the inspecting you want."

"Cool."

After saying that I ran up to each body and absorbed their Ki, Reed and his lackeys would never be able to use Ki again.

[You have drained a total of 24 Ki!]

[Ki Needed: 196!]

When Patricia and I had first reached the two men, Reed had regained his physical and mental self. Or I guess you could say he was healed.

"I'm certain of it now, either her father is working with the beast lord. Thus confirming our suspicions or she herself has connections with the beasts."

Reed said before standing back up on his feet. His body was completely healed however his clothes were another story. They had rips and tears all over.

"I'll have to report this to my superiors. Screw the test and those teammates of mine, I have bigger matters."

"Now I'll just gather some world energy and what's going on? The world energy, I've lost all control over gathering it so it dispersed." Reed said aloud In confusion.

"What about my life force? No, no, no how could this have happened?!" Reed shouted while banging his bare fists against a tree.

"How in the world can a Golden Member be a Golden Member if they can't even use Ki?" He said as he looked at his bloody and bruised hands.

"It must have been that darn Humanoid beast! But I've never even heard of an ability to remove all possible ways in a person's body to use Ki?"

"I should report this but then what will happen to my position in the Golden?" Reed thought in defeat.

Meanwhile, Patricia and I were filling our bellies with beast meat.

"You know if you don't let it cook for long enough then it'll make you sick right?"

"Yeah but it tastes better this way."

"Whatever, hurry up and eat so that we can go check out our new location. And luckily we're still in to win it!" She said once again raising her fist in the air.

"You're like a child, but yeah I'm almost done Patricia."

I said before I continued to devour my beast meat, which came from a beast known as a Lo'lic. It's a water affinity beast, and its attacks do far better in water bodies.

I learned this from Patricia of course, it turned out that she was a really good resource to use for beast names and where they could be found.

Almost like a beast nerd.

Suddenly Patricia stated that she needed a walk to go and cool down her mind and organize her thoughts. I guess getting kidnapped can really do that to you.

While she left I went ahead and pulled out the Lo'lic's blue scaled head. And then like always I thrusted my head through the skull and scooped up the brain before suddenly I had an idea.

Brain on a stick!

So I ran around looking for a stick and placed the brain on top and held it over the fire. While doing this I was also sniffing around rapidly to make sure that Patricia wasn't near.

Then when it was cooked to perfection. I took a big bite and well…I guess I prefer it raw and uncooked.

Though I still finished it and received a stat point.

[+1 Stat Point!]

[Unallocated Stat Points: 1]

And soon Patricia was back, and we were off to see our new location!

Brain on a stick! Yum!
