A Real Monster

"So it's finally happened, you're ready to torture me. Say, system can I at least know what I'm about to be getting into?" After I asked that question, I received no response, only a slowly ticking down timer which was going to be the start of my doom.

"Screw it, I'll just do what I can to prepare in advance. I hate not knowing what I'm getting myself into! Alright, calm down, while I wait, I might as well allocate my stat points."

[Stat Points Unallocated: 9]

"Alright, I don't want to just push on blindly here so System, show me my overall status. Wait, no just shorten it down to my stats."

[Strength: 7]

[Agility: 5]

[Stamina: 5]

[Endurance: 2]

"So this is what I'm working with, well it won't do. Allocate two points each to agility and stamina. Then put two more points into strength and then the rest into endurance, lastly if you would be so kind, pull out ten of my overall beast corpse from my inventory while I organize my thoughts."

[Ding!]

[Agility: 7]

[Stamina: 7]

[Strength: 9]

[Endurance: 5]

Then once my notifications came to an end, the system laid out ten different beast corpses.

"Before I hurry up and eat the brains from these corpses, I should first recall what all the system can do and has done. Firstly, It use a person's maximum storage of Ki to help me level up. I can also eat brains to gain stat points, go through battles to earn skill points. Or just get lucky and find Beast Jewels, which will give me a random chance of either Stat points, skill points or an affinity."

"Last but certainly not least as of now, I can use a window called Skill Browser which allows me to purchase skills with skill points. Speaking of that system, how many Skill points do I have?

[Skill Points: 4]

"Alright, show me the current skills I can purchase from Skill Browser."

[Available: Partial Transformation, and the passive skill Air Walking.]

"Good, I finally have the means to purchase Partial Transformation! Go ahead, I would like to spend, I think, three points in order to buy Partial Transformation."

[DING!]

[Purchase confirmed, you have bought the skill Partial Transformation.]

"Great, but now I'm more intrigued by this passive skill. If it's passive how come I haven't alright unlocked it? Does it cost Skill Points if so, how many?"

[Passive Skill Air Walking; Cost; 1 Skill Point.]

"Well, I know I'm emptying my pockets, but go ahead and buy me that passive skill, while I begin eating these brains." I said as I saw the timer going down to six minutes left, until it was time for me to face my punishment.

Three more minutes later, I collected ten more stat points, however this time there was no pleasure involved, it was almost like I was in an eating contest.

[10 Stat Points Unallocated!]

"System hurry, throw five into strength, two agility, two stamina!" I ordered as the timer reached three minutes left.

[DING!]

[Stat Points Unallocated: 1]

[Strength: 14]

[Agility: 9]

[Stamina: 9]

[Endurance: 5]

"Seems good to me, now with two minutes left, I'll test out air walking and partial control. And If I run into anything that makes me struggle, I'll use my extra stat point to gain a boost."

"Welp, time to test out these skills."

{DING!}

[Since it is the Host's first time the system has decided to bring them in two minutes early due to the first time bonus they will receive!]

"THIS THING! I SWEAR TO YOUR CREATOR THAT I HATE BOTH HIM AND YOU!" I shouted at the top of my lungs due to not being able to give some of my skills test runs.

[You have made it to the Waiting Hub, don't worry you will receive your punishment soon.]

"Screw off System." I said as I was shaking my head in displeasure and with my face full of disdain.

The Waiting Hub as the System calls it is just a black room full of fog not allowing me to see more than a foot away. Then another timer of thirty seconds was displayed, I made the most logical guess and guessed that once it reached zero I would receive my punishment.

Logically I tried to follow through with testing my new skills out however, there were locks by almost everything that I could do. Needless to say, but I couldn't use any of my skills, and was trapped in a black room until…the timer reached zero.

{Now beginning punishment, Simulation One.}

[Goal - Kill off the Grade Two Beast in the middle tier!]

[Reach the designated zone before time is up.]

[Penalty for failing requirements; All stats are reset to zero.]

[Begin! Timer set for One Hour!]

After the stream of notifications, I was enveloped in a flash of white light. I then found myself in a junkyard, with a timer floating above my head, and a beam of green light shooting in the sky signaling where my escape zone is.

"Well, I guess it's time to get down to business, no use in worrying about the penalty. If I lose then and only then should I panic." I said, trying to calm myself down and stop my right hand from shaking uncontrollably, at the thought of losing my precious power.

"WHERE ARE YOU! I'll STOP ANYONE, AND I MEAN ANYONE FROM TAKING AWAY SOMETHING THAT'S MINE, ESPECIALLY MY STRENGTH!" I shouted into the air, hoping to draw attention to myself and fight the beast head on.

Then a humanoid creature landed out of the sky. Its pale white skin was basically radiating in the night. Its body is beyond malnourished, I say this because its ribcage is practically poking out and covered in a thin layer of skin.

This is accompanied by a mouth smeared with blood. Last but not least, its eyes showed its undying hunger, and pride that to me said,"You are my PREY".

Then something else surprised me to no end, I received a message that said.

{Grade 2 Middle Tier Wendigo Beast!}

'I should…run!' I thought as the beast eyed me down from atop a pile of discarded metal and home appliances.

I know this was a short one but I want to keep the punishments short so that I'll state on track with the plot.

Creation is hard, cheer me up! VOTE for me!
