Chapter 40 - Cemetery

The Dragon race is one of the ancient races that survived the turmoil and war on earth.

But because there was a restriction when it comes to female dragons reproducing, few of them started to avoid getting pregnant.

The dragons were a prideful race; they never bow to any race.

Most of them decided to hibernate and don't appears to humans.

Huang Jin's mother was one of the dragons who still swore to do her duty and give birth even if it cost her life in exchange.

But a thousand years, she failed to make her race proud until he met Huang Jun.

It was a significant loss for the dragon raise for Huang Jin's mother to die, but because Huang Jin inherited his entire mother's essence.

Her bloodline will continue to live inside Huang Jin.

Zijing wanted to say something, but he decided to hide it from Xun Wei about Huang Jin deliberately.

But he wanted to witness that "something" when that time comes.

His lips twitched and suppressed the laughter that wanted to escape from his lips.

He eyed Xun Wei and prayed for his luck.

Xun Wei felt goosebumps all over his body after Zijing seeing eyeing him.

Zijing then pats Xun Wei in his shoulder and blink back to the bedroom.

The dragon flicks his finger as the fake Xun Wei turned into a mist and scattered.

Zijing said goodbye to Xun Wei and entered Huang Jin's dimensional space.

He was standing inside the mountain, carrying the little dragon in his arms. He put the baby dragon in his mouth, and then Zijing transforms into his original form.

A ball of his spiritual power came out from his mouth, inside the baby dragon sleeping peacefully floating like a bubble.

Zijing usual cold eyes became warm after watching the baby dragon sleeping.

He felt sleepy from all the energy he uses up and soon fell asleep.

After Zijing left, Xun Wei sat beside Huang Jin.

He felt sour because his lover didn't even notice him going.

The room was full of vinegar, maybe because Huang Jin was sensitive.

He woke up and seeing Xun Wei sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Ahwei? What's wrong? Can't sleep?"

Huang Jin yawns after asking the question and checking Ahbao's sleeping form.

"No, I just went inside the bathroom."

Xun Wei's eyes twitched and were dejected, never mind.

He decided to tell everything that Zijing told him to Huang Jin after the wedding.

He doesn't want to let his lover worry and increase another stress during these years.

He wanted to be with Huang Jin without thinking about any problems.

He knows that it may be selfish, but that was he feels.

With that in mind, Xun Wei pulled his lover inside his arms and kissed him deeply. He eased back so they could both catch their breaths.

Xun Wei drew a few shaky breaths to calm himself and then touched Huang Jin's' face.

After knowing that Huang Jin was part of the dragon race, subconsciously, he tried to observe his face.

But he doesn't see it at all.

Huang Jin seeing that Xun Wei stops kissing him, questions appeared in his eyes.

His breaths quickened, and his heart pounded.

His brows furrowed and asked Xun Wei: "What's wrong, Ahwei? What are you thinking? Is there something wrong in my face?"

Feeling Huang Jin's concerns, Xun Wei ice-cold eyes turned warmed and full of love.

"I just realized that I'm lucky enough to have met you. I feel like this is just a dream that one day I will wake up and never known you. I'm terrified."

So afraid that Xun Wei suppressed it with deep breaths.

Everything felt too unreal after meeting Huang Jin.

The look on Xun Wei's face made Huang Jin want to hug him and ease his fear, so he did.

When Xun Wei felt the bone-crushing hug, he yielded to the warm, firm embrace, his frame molding against Huang Jin.

Huang Jin reassured Xun Wei with whispers of love.

He kissed his lover's ears and felt sleepy; he mumbled something and then closed his eyes.

Huang Jin felt Xun Wei fell asleep, his breathing deep and steady.

His lips twitched and felt helpless.

He gave another kissed to Xun Wei's lips then turned around to pull Jian Bao in his arms.

The room turned quiet as two-man, and a child sleeps peacefully.

When morning came, the couple intended to go Jian Bao's mom first to visit her. And after wait for the child's sister to arrived by plane today with Huang Jin's dad and Xun Weil's family.

The three wore black suits and ate a delicious breakfast before leaving the villa. One driver and one bodyguard came with them; the rest stayed at the villa until the couple's parents arrive.

The cemetery they went to was peaceful, and nature preserves that the government allowed certain people in F country to lay down their remains.

Jian Bao, who was sitting in between the couple, became quiet on the ride to the place.

They, too, became quite seeing the child's face.

Huang Jin knows that Jian Bao has been missing his mother since her death.

He knows because that's what he felt after his mom passed away.

He was lucky that his father had not abandoned him.

Except his dad didn't choose a good wife.

He felt sorry for Jian Bao because his father no longer cared for him, and then his older sister died. So all they can do is join the child in mourning his sister.

After arriving at the cemetery, the whole place was full of people.

Many people come and go to visit their relatives.

His mother's death was the occasion of national mourning in F country.

The car entered the gate to the cemetery. Some guards roam around the place for security.

Some of the lands inside the cemetery are flat, and some are like hills.

When Jian Bao pointed the hill where his mother is, they stopped the car. The bodyguard and the driver got off and opened both doors of the vehicle.

The people walking and passing by saw the car and the bodyguards.

Some were curious but did not bother much.

They know that the cemetery was a place where some of the political and wealthy families laid to rest their loved ones.

A handsome man with Chinese descends wearing a black suit came in their view. The man then bends down to take a child in his arms.

The child was eight to nine years old. He was small and cute, wearing the same clothes as the man who carried him.

From the other side of the car, a beautiful teen with flowers in his hand exited.

His eyes scanned the cemetery then turned his eyes to the handsome man and the child in his arms.

People passing by saw the three and marveled from how handsome and beautiful the two adults were, adding a cute and healthy child. They look like a family of three.

The beautiful man walks beside the handsome man and arranges the hair of the child.

Both of them were silent and serious while walking to the direction of the hill in front of them.

The child's eyes closed, his head buried in between the handsome man's shoulder. His little hands tight around the man's neck. The man enveloped him in a warm hug that smelled of expensive cologne.

The bodyguard and the driver beside them pulled an umbrella to shield them from the heat of the sun.

While walking, they heard murmurs and voices of passerby's.

The child was full of worries and fear. Even though he knows that his mother passed away years ago, he can't still help to feel sad and mourned for the woman who gave life to him.

The whole cemetery was in full view on top of the hill surrounded by trees and flowers.

The wind came suddenly, and with revenge, leaves rustle, and small branches of the trees move with the rhythm of the wind.

The leaves quickly fell to the flat ground, forming a thick layer everywhere.

When Huang Jin and Xun Wei arrive at the top of the hill, a small Chinese temple situated in the middle, Jian Bao suddenly moves inside Xun Wei's arms told him that he wanted to get down.

After a while, the three people went inside the temple.

A photo and an urn were on the wall in the center of the room.

The place smells of incense, Huang Jin approached; he saw a lone stick of it incense burning in the holder beside a picture that contains a beautiful woman smiling.

The incense stick was burning; maybe someone was here and visited Ahbao's mother.

Huang Jin gave the flowers to Ahbao, and the child places it inside the vase.

The couple stopped behind the child, both silent and waiting for Ahbao to finish praying and pay filial piety to his mother.

Xun Wei then pulled the drawer beside the table.

He lit and gave the incense to Huang Jin and the Ahbao and prayed.

After praying, Huang Jin patted the child's shoulder gently, squeeze it, and step away and join Xun Wei.

Ahbao stood alone in front of the altar, his eyes turned red, and tears began rolling down his little face.

He cried silently mourning the loss of his mom and sister; he understood that from today onwards, he's genuinely alone, no father, no sister, and no mother to go home.

'Mom, they say that when a door closes, a window will open.

Sister Jian is gone, dad doesn't want me anymore, he made sure because he had a new family, and he instead has a new child than to have me.

I'm sorry I can't even stick to the last remaining family member that our family had.

Mom, I just want to say that although no sister Jian or father will take care of me. But don't worry, I have big brother Huang Jin and Xun Wei.

They promised me that I wouldn't be alone anymore.

And don't worry; Sister Jian will soon be beside you tomorrow.

I don't know when will I will be able to come to visit you, but I promise when that time comes, I can smile without worries in front of you.'

After saying those words, Jian Bao pressed the meat of his hands to his eyes to keep from crying again.

He wiped the remaining tears and turned around and run towards Huang Jin and buried his face on his bosom.

Hoping Huang Jin wouldn't notice, he cried.

Huang Jin turned to Xun Wei feeling helpless, and eyes turned red immediately.

His lover just smiled and kissed his temple to comfort him.

Huang Jin cried for the child, and he understood that he was crying at the thought that little Ahbao would left without a family.

They stayed standing in the hall for a little while waiting for Ahbao to adjust his emotions.

All the crying had left Jian Bao exhausted, and fell asleep inside Huang Jin's arms.

There was a shadow and saw Xun Wei with a handkerchief in his hand pressed to Huang Jin's nose.

Xun Wei smiled and wiped his nose and eyes.

"Let's go, give me Ahbao, I'll hold him for you."

Xun Wei took Ahbao from Huang Jin's arms.

The child moved and found a comfortable place inside Xun Wei's arms.

Huang Jin met Xun Wei's gaze with a nod, and they looked at each other until his face flushed.

Huang Jin looks straight ahead, but he wore a hint of a smile.

Xun Wei smiled, started walking beside his lover.

Along the way, the weather turned bad and started raining.

The vehicle drove slowly and reached the villa long after dark and found all the lights turned on.

Rain splattered hard against the window of the car, drawing his gaze to it.

Wind and rain slashed at the car as they traveled to the villa.

The vehicle started to slow down along the way because of the heavy rain.
