Rome - 50,000 citizens. Experiencing a population boom. Parent are starting large families. Expected to triple in a few years.
Soldiers number 20,000. many work during the day, only to train at night.
Athens : 100,000. Population stable, unlikely to grow for a while.
8 thousand soldiers, two thousand of those are Spartans.
