I would say that this is one of the best novels for physicists to read.

A good novel but the female lead's character in contrast with ml's ruined it for me. Ugh, if only that part was not there. Would have been better if there was no fl like LoTM.

This is a knowledge is power. The mc is science student on earth and transmigrates to a world were magic is now scientific. he finds himself in a new body and the first thing he gets to see is his neighbor get burned at the stake by the church for being a magic user. my favorite stories are ones were the mc starts with nothing or next to nothing and grows with hard work and a flexible mind and this story is that he starts as a poor kid that can't read, then becomes a celebrated musician, then a powerful wizard.

This is a great story the world is very well thought out. The main characters Lucien does not start out all powerful (Since I have read only the first 50 chapters I don't know how strong he is at the end) struggles through every day problems and gets stronger at a realistic pace.

Absolutely amazing! I read this after finishing "Lord of the mysteries" another masterpiece from the same author. What an amazing book, it was month that I was searching for something like that. To cut it short, this is a fantasy but with a real scientific approach towards magic. The only drawback of this work is that the beginning might seem a bit sloppy but if you keep it up you won't regret it at all.

So far at chapter 472. This novel is really amazing. The world so far is not that massive, but I absolutely love the system. The system is really interesting, and very unique from any other novel I've read. The modern sorcerers has been looking for the truth of the world, and they started using Science, or in their own world, called Arcana. Theories like Geometry and Calculus...Miller-Urey experiments, and all sorts of hypothesis and stuff that the author clearly studied well, are implemented in the Arcana system... that sometimes I don't understand what's going on, but it never stopped me from reading. Maybe, if you love science, this novel will be even more interesting. Anyways, Arcana is very much like the Dao or the Way of cultivators, in that if proven that whag the Arcanists believe in are actually flawed or wrong, and they have a narrow mind... it is very possible that they will have their HEADS EXPLODE! Yes,new theories that overthrow their previous theories has made several high ranking arcanists lose their head - literally. The MC has even gotten a nickname because of this - HeadCrusher - as when he introduces a theory from our modern science, it had a huge impact on Arcana. I am very excited for the 400 +more chapters I have yet to read.

After the Wizard World, Throne of Magical Arcana is the second sorcery Chinese novel I have read. So, had I a good time ? The setting itself is a great one, taking inspiration from European History and fusing it with the classic fantasy themes, while still feeling original. Also important is the fact the fantasy elements are closely intertwined with modern sciences, not as two independant systems, but with the former being underlined by the latter. It is also shown in the power system, at least for sorcerers, given that their power is mostly linked to their arcane (scientific) knowledge, and the way the author introduces it in this world is both entertaining and educational (he does a great job at vulgarization). And, a small plus is that toward the end, the transmigration/reincarnation also gets a logical, "pseudo-scientific" explanation in relation with the power system, which is the best I've seen so far in a sorcery-type novel. The characters are a great bunch. Lucien Evans is an awesome protagonist, clever, courageous but not foolhardy, insightful, proud but not obnoxious, he is the perfect main character for this story and his successes are not due to deus ex machina, but to his deductions, prudence and preparations. There is no plot armor that I can remember. His love interest, Natasha Orvarit is also a wonderful character in her own right, who could be the protagonist of her own novel, she is strong both in mind and body, intelligent, charismatic, a great knight and leader who can handle her own fights and partners wonderfully with Lucien. The other characters are also really well made, both recurring and one shot character, whether they are friends (John the childhood friend, Douglas the president of the congress of magic, Fernando the MC's mentor, Natasha's grandmother Hathaway, Rhine the Observer...), foes (the Popes, Mecantron, Dracula) or in-between (Felipe...) they all have deepth and uniqueness, none of them is to throw out. As for the plot, it is just wonderful. Cuttlefish That Loves Diving gives us a tale to match the great characters, with a great narration that takes us through an adventure full of, not only magic, science and power, but also intrigue, mysteries and conspiracies. The author takes in this story with art and talent, the start is a tad slow, but it evolves soon in a great multi-layered narrative which progressively unveils its secrets, neither too fast or too slow.. It is not as long as most other Chinese novels, but it has no filler and is entertaining from start to finish. In fact, even the two short  side-stories at the end of the novel (first a small sequel, then an equally short prequel) are great. I just don't good into details here to preserve the fun of the discovery. On a side note, the romance is a great aspect of the book. It progresses slowly but naturally and sincerely, a great plus compaired to most tales of the genre. The translation's quality is excellent. Very few typos at the beginning then none, smooth retranscription of the mood and some explanations for the cases where the author uses specifically Chinese references, Henyee Translations does an amazing job, and I hope that they will carry on with the good work. So in conclusion, Throne of Magical Arcana is one of the best novel I ever read. between the great characters, the fine setting and power system, the multi-leveled intrigue and the top-notch translation, you just can't go wrong with it. My final verdict is a full 10 out of 10. And it is with pleasure that I will later read other books from this author. P.S: Thanks to Cuttlefish That Loves Diving for writing this story, to Henyee Translations for bringing it into English and Qidin for publishing it.

Read it a while ago. Re-reading because it’s been a few years. Better than I remember and worth giving it a try. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Xx

It's a nice novel when you start it but when you have read like 200 chapters you will see a lot of chapters talking about other characters and it's really boring. I mean i want to know what's happening to the MC not to a secondary character that will never appear again. You get a cliff hanger during a battle and the next 10 chapters are about random character 1 number 1 and random character number 2. It would be a great novel without all the filler the author puts in it to get more money because if the chapters have more words and have are more long they earn more. The novel has 850 chapters now. And at least 200 are fillers so if you don't want to lose your time leave the novel.

So far, I've mixed feelings about this novel. It's good, but... On one hand, it's good the protagonist doesn't get that much in the term of OP thing...Or rather, what he gets is OP in a way, but the world doesn't bend itself to make it easy for him so he has a lot of struggle. I also rather like the setting in that (most) people feel believable. It feels a bit like real life. For example, it means that not everybody automatically become the MC's enemy without reason. Finally, having both music and magic is pretty interesting. On the other hand...It's pretty slow. The characters are good but the relationships feel shallow. And overall, I guess I don't really care what happens next so I don't feel any urge to keep reading. For now I'll keep reading it but I'm half-forcing myself thinking it can become good later on.

READ IT! I can only say this is a gem, truly unimaginable world building and character development, a great depiction of modern science in a magic world. I have read a lot of books in this site (mostly trash) but this is a (true book) quality both in translation and writing! CONGRATULATIONS!

I must say that this novel is one of the best i have ever read,i dont know what to say about the novel exactly but i can definitely say that the novel lets you actually feel the emotions of a character or a particular scene it doesn't matter if you have actually ever felt those emotions or gone through similar experiences that the characters go through in different scenes, the emotions easily resonatw with your own. As you can see im not that good at expressing what i feel so i really hope you read through the novel to decide whether its good or not.

An excellent story with beautiful world building. Love the blend of science and magic and the explanations are detailed without being too overbearing. The characters are fun too, and not just some caricatures of people that get discarded as the story goes, even though the less important ones receive lesser screen time (which is par for the course in these types of storytelling, i guess). The translation quality is also top notch. Great work and hope you finish this wonderful story.

Author did pretty good job integrate science knowledge to magic research, I most love this part of novel. World build is good, character delopment is good too. Author always split pace novel to two environments, mc peaceful developed new exciting magic research in city alternative with adventure in dangerous outside world. Overall, this is masterpiece. Only down side is translation pace. Translator really do damage to novel ranking by irregular and slow updated. Even though they translated quite good despite novel has hard content of scientific term but if they can't bear responsibility update chapters with good pace, they should give project to other who can do it. At this rate, I don't know how many years it will complete. This novel deserve higher rank.
