Still, pushing himself on Jack would be the worst possible way to help him come around, so Noah accepted the mutual agreement that they didn’t currently exist to each other and didn’t even try to make eye contact when they chanced to pass. As the weeks progressed he began to see Jack more often, so apparently he’d stopped going out of his way to avoid the apartment’s halls when he thought Noah might be there.
It was more than halfway through October before he actually spoke to either of them again, and the circumstances of their next encounter were not exactly what Noah would have preferred.
