"This is indeed a smart idea, Sir Rex," Rex said. "I'm glad you love it, your highness. But it's unfortunate that you won't be able to use this information," Rex added.

Before anyone could react, a mysterious darkness rose from Rex's shadow, engulfing everyone in the room. The darkness crept from underneath their feet, warping around their bodies in a blink of an eye, holding them in place. All three of them stared at Rex in shock. The princess and Lady Diana, who was most shocked, tried to speak, but the darkness covered their mouths, preventing them from making a sound.

Without wasting time, Rex summoned three small mud balls from his shadow. He looked at the moving creatures and spoke to them, "You can draw blood from the princess and her guards now. I already have the lady's blood sample. Be quick about it. And don't touch the princess's face. We don't want to ruin that pretty face now, do we?" Two of the small balls moved, latching onto the princess's neck and Henry's face, drawing a bit of blood before retreating towards Rex.

"Good. Now bye," Rex said, allowing the darkness to completely conquer his victims. All three stared in confusion as the darkness swallowed them whole. Henry tried to move and defend the princess, but the darkness held his feet in place, and before he could say a word, he was drawn into the darkness.

He had never allowed himself to let his guard down when guarding the princess. The comfort of being in the Capital made him feel invulnerable. Damn it, he thought in his head. Regrettably, it was another loss for the royal knight.

Though confident he could defeat Henry if things went out of hand, Rex was still wary of the knight. Even as an understudy, not anyone could be a royal knight, and his strength would be nothing to joke about. Rex made sure the royal knight couldn't react on time while also silencing the ladies with his shadow.

His ability to make his shadow become ethereal was a powerful tool but not that strong. It took time to manifest his ability and careful planning. A few seconds after using his shadow, everyone in the room had been engulfed, leaving only Rex, who was now breathing heavily.

"One person, easy. Two, I can handle, but three? That's just too much for my body," Rex thought, allowing his body to rest for a while. He had successfully completed his part of the mission, now for the next phase.

He dropped all three balls on the floor, and they began to expand and grow bigger. The three creatures took different shapes and forms and then grew limbs. Rex watched the whole thing with awe and disgust as the three things gradually formed into three different humans. One was a beautiful young woman with a lemon green dress and very light makeup; the other was an even younger woman wearing a yellow dress with a slight cut from down the right up to her thigh. Her dress rested on her upper arm instead of her shoulder, showing the upper parts of her chest. Her hair was skillfully woven and adorned with different pearls, and a small crown rested on her head. The last was a young man with blonde hair, covered in armor from head to toe. His long sword was sheathed to his right side, and his aura was quite strong.

Rex looked at the three people in front of him and saw that the three balls had taken the perfect form of the three people he had captured in his shadow. "Lord Dylan's ability is really creepy and sometimes scary," Rex thought. "With these things buying us time, we should be able to escape," he thought.

Satisfied with the result, he tried to leave the room, but his head was still spinning from using his ability the way he did. "A few more minutes won't hurt, Rex," he said as he sat back down.

After resting for a few minutes, Rex left the room with the three dolls that had assumed the identities of Princess Lena, Chancellor Diana, and Henry Laxe, the royal guard. Percy saw the princess come outside with the other three and unsuspectingly followed, now guarding the doll.

All of them quietly made their way back to the ballroom, after which Rex, hurriedly but calmly, began to proceed out of the orphanage. Immediately some of the other guests saw the princess; they began to engage her in different conversations.

Rex knew the dolls were good replicas and would be able to assume the role of the princess for a while before someone found out she was just a doll. Still, that was enough time for them to escape with the princess. The doll smiled at the guests that were talking to it and acted almost as perfect as the princess would have, making most people unsuspecting. Most, not all...
