Chapter 4

Today was a normal Monday morning in Laiten's life, or at least it was supposed to be a normal day.

"you can't come to school with me!"

"I must be at your side, what if something happens to you like an accident or a robbery"

Laiten was trying to go to school but Draken insists on going with him to protect him.

"what are the possibilities of something like that happening," Laiten asks rolling his eyes.

"it doesn't matter, I must ensure you are safe and sound at all times," Draken says in a serious manner indicating he wasn't backing down from this.

Look I can't go walking around with an eight-foot-tall giant with a sword, I'll get the police called on me, they'll think I'm a terrorist or some mob boss" says Laiten in an exaggerated manner. Draken stays quiet for a while before replying

"I have a solution for that although it hasn't been used in centuries" 

"oh yeah? what is it?" Laiten asks looking at him curiously

"It's a bond, but to form that bond you have to accept me as your servant and I take you as my master" 

"what kinda terms are those?" Laiten asks sighing. Draken stays quiet waiting for Laiten to make a decision.

"we're not doing that it sounds silly" 

"It's either that or I follow you to school every day as I do not intend to let you go anywhere on your own" Laiten groans running his fingers through his hair frustratedly.

"fine, let's do it," he says defeatedly. Draken gets on one knee and presents his arm before Laiten.

"all you must do is place your arm on mine and say you take me Draken as your servant," Laiten nods even though he wasn't for this development he places his arm on DRaken's massive forearm and says the words, once he says these words a golden insignia appears on both their arms.

"it is done," Draken says and stands back up although Laiten doesn't seem convinced.

"what do you mean it is done? nothing happened-"

"Laiten!" before Laiten finished Killian bursts through his front door, the color drains from Laiten's face.

"K-K-K-Killian Look I can explain, I was going to tell you"

"yeah? well hurry up we're gonna be late" Killian says waiting for him outside. Laiten stood confused, that wasn't the reaction he was expecting, was Killian just pretending he didn't see Draken? or could he not see him, he turns to Draken who doesn't seem at all fazed.

"it is complete, now only you will be able to see me," says Draken, Laiten says rubbing his forehead.

"And you didn't think it was necessary to provide me with that little bit of information?" 

"My apologies, I didn't think it was necessary "Laiten just decides to leave it at that, he picks up his bag and goes outside with Draken following closely behind him.

Outside he joins Killian who had been waiting for him.

"Finally you sure took your time," Killian says and starts walking 

"Sorry, I was looking for my stuff," Laiten says walking beside him.

As they walked Laiten couldn't help but feel weary, he half expected people to stare at him in shock and run away or something but it all seemed normal like there wasn't an eight-foot-tall Samurai standing behind him.

"calm down young master," Draken says noticing how uneasy Laiten was.

"what do you mean calm down? I'm very calm" Laiten says earning an odd look from Killian.

"Are you okay?" asks Killian

"yeah I'm, I'm fine don't worry," he says with a nervous chuckle, he fishes in his bag for his ear pods taking them out and turning on his phone, he puts in his earphones so it seems as though he was listening to something or was on a call, either way, it made him seem less crazy.

"What is that you are wearing?" asks Draken curiously

"Oh it's my earpods so I don't have to take a call out loud in public," he says in the most unsuspicious way 

"Oh I see, technology in this dimension is much more advanced than where I am from," Draken says

"Oh yeah? where are you from then?" asks Laiten in a questioning but also curious tone, he did his best to not ask direct questions that could raise questions from his friend.

"I am from the world of Titans" Laiten resisted shouting like he would if it were under different circumstances.

"that explains a lot" he mutters under his breath

"Who are you talking to?" Laiten had been so busy talking to Draken that he forgot Killian was right next to him.

"What?" he asks turning to him

"you're on the phone, right? Who are you talking to?" Killian asks looking at him expecting an answer.

"oh it's uh this guy I met on um Call of Duty he's pretty cool," Laiten says hoping he sounded convincing.

"Really? cool, where's he from?" Killian asks curiously

"I- um he's from here actually but he lives in a different town" 

"oh okay, maybe you can introduce me to him someday," Killian says. A loud ringing blasted through the air but it wasn't anything serious, it was the school's bells going off indicating that they had gotten to school just in time for the morning assembly.

"Why do the bells have to be so darn loud" Killian grumbles rubbing his ears

"come on, let's go before the assembly starts," Laiten says beginning a light jog into the school followed by Killian.

They quickly go into school joining the assembly just before the student council president starts her announcements.

"Good morning student of Blue Nova, welcome back, I hope you spent your weekends productively, as you should know by now my time as your student council president is coming to an end, I will hand over office to your new student body president I hope you I served well as your president" the students clap and she bows walking aside and giving room for the new student body president. A second-year male student known for his academic and athletic skills.

"good morning students my name is Blade Sonoda, and I am pleased to announce that I am your new student body president, I hope it meets the standards set by the former thank you," he said with a bow.

After the assembly disperses the students head to their classes in groups and cliques. Laiten and Killian head to their class together, the first-period being literature class. As they walk in silence they hear some students discussing.

"... I heard we have a new literature teacher..."

"oh really? I hope they're nicer than the old man"

"I know right? he was such a pain" The boys look at each other with questioning looks before entering the class curious about their new teacher.

A few minutes pass and no one comes into the class.

"Where's the teacher, are they skipping class?"

"Should we go look for them?"

"I say free period"

"good morning class forgive my tardiness I am Miss Akira Xanderton" All the students turn to the door as an elegant and beautiful woman walks into the class her wedged shoes silent against the tiled floors, her maxi black dress adding to the air of elegance. the students all stand and greet simultaneously but Laiten stays seated staring at her for some reason, the lady notices this and walks over to him.

"do you intentionally refuse to greet your teacher" Laiten stands up immediately looking like he had just come out of shock.

"g-g-good morning ma'am," he says quickly

"What is your name boy?" she asks with a serious yet not stern expression

"I'm Laiten Esperon," he says quickly earning a chuckle from some of his classmates.

"I expect a better show of respect next time " She turns and goes back to her desk starting the class. 

Draken on the other hand notices his master's discomfort as he takes his seat.

"what's wrong master" he asked in a serious yet confused tone

"that woman, she was at the hospital, I saw her, and I know she saw me"
