Chapter 21 The Trap

　　Ray-Ray woke up to find his sister looking at him with a grim look on her face.

　　"Ah, you're back, sister?"

　　"Well, have you been sleeping the last couple days?"

　　"Yeah, I..."

　　"Where did the master go?"

　　"Master?... Ah! Oh no!"

　　Ray-Ray ran quickly into the countess's room.

　　"I looked in the master's room when I came back, she's not here .... Huh how did you hide a pig in there?"

　　Lynn, who had followed, watched in amazement as her brother took a dying piglet out of the crate with tears in the corners of his eyes.

　　"You don't put a pig in his master's bed" .... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh?! Master?!"

　　Ray-Ray, who had undone her master's shapeshifting spell, stood in the room at a loss for words as she watched her sister come up and wrap her arms around the sobbing countess.

　　"Master, may I explain? ...." Lei Lei whispered.

　　"Leonardo! You disobeyed your master, what are you trying to weasel out of?!" Lynn stood up mischievously, and in her hand there was already an additional stabbing sword forged in blood.

　　The tip of the sword stopped right in front of Lei Lei's nose, and Lei Lei was slightly helpless.

　　"Let Ray-Ray speak." Margaret stopped sobbing; she still trusted Ray-Ray inside.

　　Even though she was turned into a pig and still locked in a closet at the time, she heard the words of determination that Ray-Ray said when he left.

　　"Actually, Kayne-sama paid a surprise visit the other day ...."

　　Ray-Ray began to give an honest account of what had happened.

　　"So you thought Kayne-sama would come to harm the master before you did such a disobedient act?!" Lynn asked in an icy tone.

　　She still maintained the stance of her right hand raising her sword and pointing it at her brother's nose, but her left hand, which was in the blind spot of the Countess's vision, quietly gave her brother a compliment.

　　During the days that the Countess was turned into a pig, Edward stayed in his room, pontificating about something.

　　Since she hadn't seen him in a few days, Evely couldn't help but get a little worried and went to look for him in his room.

　　"Kayne, are you there? I'm coming in. ...."

　　"Wait a minute! Don't open the door!" Kayne's voice came from inside the house.

　　"Uh, okay." Immediately, Ivory stopped pulling on the door.

　　Kayne pointed to the doorknob.

　　Evely saw that the doorknob had been replaced with one made of metal.

　　"Look here, I put two twin rune stones here on the bolt, you need to put your hand on that spot before opening the door to neutralize the magic of the rune stones."

　　"What happens if you don't?"

　　"The twin rune stones create invisible threads of magic, and if the connection between the two threads is severed, the two rune stones set off a magical pulse that triggers a scroll hidden inside the door."

　　"Scrolls?"

　　"I imbued the scroll with thunder magic [Lightning Strike]."

　　In order to prevent enemy invasion, Edward gave up his "small goal" and got his hands on the elemental magic of other systems.

　　"That is to say, if you open the door at will without pressing that little mechanism first..."

　　At that moment, the voice of Joseph the Hunter suddenly came from outside:

　　"Evely? Are you in there? What the hell are you two doing in your room?"

　　"Nah, that's what happens when you casually open a door." Edward stepped forward and healed Joseph with [Healing Hands].

　　The injury was healed, but Joseph was expected to be unconscious for a while longer, so Evely called for two attendants to move Joseph back to his room.

　　"You'd better tell everyone in the guild about this organ before one of your own gets caught again."

　　"I'll talk about it when it's all done, it's not even debugged yet."

　　Edward opens the dark box on the door and takes out the scroll that just ran out of magic power, then re-injects [Lightning Strike].

　　"Where did you learn this marvelous machine art?"

　　Evely asked Edward as she surveyed the twin rune stones set delicately into the door and doorframe.

　　"Uh, I figured it out on my own."

　　Edward couldn't explain to Evely that the idea of utilizing the twin rune stones came from the infrared sensors of the Blue Planet, a technology that had been widely used on the planet.

　　When he had read about the nature of the Dual Life Rune Stone in the Eastern Continent Museum Journal earlier, he had thought that he could use this instead of an infrared sensor, and now it was just the right thing to use on a trap.

　　"You're still a genius."

　　Ivory said without praise, then looked back to the spells painted on the wall.

　　"These spells are?"

　　"Many utilities." Edward stood up and pointed to the runes on the spell to explain them one by one, "This [Solid] rune, it can make the wall stronger so that it won't be blown away by magic as easily as the last courtyard wall."

　　Then he pointed to another, "This [Jedi] rune, which bans magic released from the outside, can prevent others from casting spells on the inside through the walls."

　　Next, he introduced the [Warm] and [Cool] runes on the spell formation that could control the temperature of the room, and the [Za] rune that kept the air in the room clear.

　　Being a Bluestar who knew how to enjoy himself, he utilized his magic and added an air conditioner to his room.

　　"Unfortunately, I don't know what the reason is, but this [Pure] Rune has been dimming, and I can't activate it in any way."

　　[Pure] Rune, capable of purifying evil spirits and banishing undead creatures.

　　"These are already impressive ah, can you draw such a spell in my room as well?" Ivory revealed a look of envy.

　　Edward took out a bottle of magic powder and a piece of paper and quickly drew a spell on it.
