This particular Genius

A particular child was born on a particular date. This particular child was Yushita Yugo. At age one he already learned how to read and write. At age six he knew how to do most math sums in his head. At age eleven he had learnt over twenty languages. And at fifteen he's enrolling in a particular high school, not just any high school though, this particular high school is run by three particular sisters and is part of one particular education chain. But not just any education chain. This chain only provides education to the handful of children known as "Advanced Prodigies". From all over the world, geniuses and prodigies flock to these three schools, but only a few thousand get deemed "worthy" enough to attend, and even less get accepted. There's only one thing Yushita Yugo can't do, and that is work as a team, but with his luck that is exactly this year's acceptance criteria. Yugo is on the verge of not making the cut, but with a bit of godly magic a particular miracle might happen.

Chapter 001! High school Prodigy! Yugo!

Urban Legends,

Something that humans wished was real, whether it be something achieveable, something impossible, or something that is a subject to the imagination itself.

Some examples of urban legends are:

Cicada 3001, an internet phenomon,

Slenderman, an excuse made to cover up a fatal stabbing, but ended up to be one of the internet's most popular creepypastas,

3:00am, an urban legend popular amongst six to eight years olds, where it's believed that the hour is the most unholiest hour,

666, or, the devil's number.

And, of course, the Urban Legend:

The Cursed Door, an Urban Legend circulating around my school, a door in our summer camp where no student that has gone through ever came out. It's said that there is a goddess manning the door, as it's a portal to the underworld.

Just the name of the door itself can circulate fear around the school.

Fear?

I haven't felt that emotion in so long, I feel that, without fear, you are without weaknesses. Fear can drive the most bravest men insane, can make even the most wittiest of women come to wit's end.

I've long put all of that behind me.

Who am I?

I'm Yushita Yugo, a high school first year student. A prodigy is what many people call me.

How do I know so much about urban legends?

That's cause I am one myself.

How am I one?

Well, we best know it from the beginning...

'Yugo? Yugo!' Yugo snapped out of his trance. 'So you finally returned to us! How was Mars?'

The one speaking is Oaklie Rorke, one of Yugo's best friends, and also one of Yugo's only friends.

'So the legends were true, you can really fall asleep with your eyes open! You never cease to amaze me Yushita!'

Douglas Finnigan, also one of Yugo's best friends.

Oaklie leant back, 'The weeding is literally in two hour's time, we'll be gone for the entire summer.'

'If we make it through the weeding.' Yugo added.

'You two would probably make it through.' Said Douglas nervously. 'I was never as good a learner as yous are.'

'Don't worry your bald head Douglas, we'll all make it through. Besides, you're always only a point or two behind me and Oaklie when it comes to tests.'

Douglas stood up. Yugo can never take it how much Douglas grew in the last year, from being a head shorter than Yugo he was now nearly the size of Oaklie. 'Well yeah I guess, but a point or two can mean a whole football field behind you in the Weeding, remeber, ten thousand students and only two thousand five hundred gets to go through to first year.'

Another boy strolled over, this boy was Josh Black, one of Yugo's oldest friends and the first foreigner that Yugo knew.

'The Weeding. The most important part of our lives.'

A silent uneasiness fell over the four boys.

The Weeding was the nickname given to The Sisters' Summer Camp for the sister schools, Shintawa (In Hiroshima), Beigoma(In Kyoto) and Tokyo National (In Tokyo), ran by...well, triplet sisters. The Weeding is the summer ceromony where the students of multiple schools get hand picked to go to the sister schools. It's the most grusome part of their school lives with tears, blood and sweat. Friends get torn apart forever, the slower students get left behind and there are many disappoints.

Oaklie stood up. He was by far the tallest of the four, tall with glasses and more feminine features than masculine, he also dyed his hair purple, not to mention he also had long hair. He was often mistook for a girl. And would've made a very pretty one if he wasn't a guy. 'But look at it this way boys, if we get accepted into any one of the three, we'll have our whole futures literally paved for us. It's worth braving through the Weeding if we can be millionares in the future!'

Douglas looked even more down, Bald and the second tallest of the four, he looks really menancing, but is a complete softy and gets depressed very easily. 'Yeah, but I'm a normal guy, unlike you three, all prodigies in some sort of way. I'm just a really smart dude, I'll be glad if I even made it to class 1-F.'

The classes in the three sister schools are ranked like this. Year 1, 2 and 3 and then the classes depending on your results in the weeding. Class 1-F is the lowest class while class 1-S is the highest, every student that goes to the three schools are guaranteed a sucessful life, but the graduates of class 3-S are all the CEOs of some major company.

Josh spoke up. Josh was slightly shorter than Yugo and is also the shortest of the four. He has Blonde hair with black strands dotted around the place. Josh is unparallelled by anybody except for Yugo in anything that he does. 'As Yushita said, don't worry mate. We're all gonna make it to class 1-S. Besides, even if we're not in the same class we would be in the same year. We all signed up for Shintawa right?'

The other three boys nodded.

Yugo's eyes slid back into the book he had open on his lap.

'Yuto-Senpai!!!'

A voice echoed in the distance.

Yugo sighed and stood up on the fence he was sitting on, looking over the heads of multiple of his junior high classmates.

'Hoiiii, Naomi! I'm here!'

A attractive junior high first year ran up to him.

'Yuto-senpai, is it true you're going off to Shintawa?' Asked the girl called Naomi.

Naomi Isshiki was an attractive girl that Yugo secretly helped pass the Shitoki Junior High entrance Exam. She's been following Yugo around ever since. Although she was annoying, Yugo cannot deny the fact that she's a great help. Usually helping him clean the classroom, his games clubroom and most importantly, can actually keep up with him in studying terms, something many of his junior high third year classmates can't even achieve. Naomi has long brown eyes and brown hair, medium sized breasts and always wore some sort of kitty ears, even though it was against the Shitoki dress code.

'Yeah, it's been a fun year. But I have to go off to high school.' Yugo replied.

'Yuto-Senpai...can I come with you?' Naomi asked.

'Well, I mean, I don't really mind, but that is if you can get pass the Shintawa junior high second year entrance exams.'

'Then I will!' said Naomi triumphantly. 'And I'll move to Hiroshima to be with Yuto-Senpai!'

Yugo sighed. He forgot how rich Naomi was. Rich and smart. 'If you're able to get pass the entrance exam you can live with me. Mother's home does have a spare room since Yuri literally never sleeps over at hers. She tells me Yuri spends more time in Hibana's house than she does in ours.'

Naomi's eyes lit up. 'Then I would definitely pass the entrance exams!'

A teacher's voice came over the loudspeaker. 'Third year Shitoki students, we are now taking attendance, check your bus ticket and go to the correct bus.'

'Well see ya in September Naomi.' said Yugo. 'Make sure to make it past the Shintawa entrance exams.'

The four boys stood up again and made their way to the buses.

four hundred and eighty Third Year Shitoki students. Yugo looked around. Who knew how many would be accepted into the sister schools. Yugo felt a ice cube forming in his stomach, he wasn't worried about himself, oh no. He can easily make it through with SS rank on everything. He wasn't particularly worried about his group of friends or Naomi either.

He was worried for the rest of the school. The comrades he will lose in the following three months.

All those smiling, excited faces would soon be tearful and sad.

After all, he and his group of friends might be prodigies. But the rest of the school weren't.

"The Weeding has already begun." he thought to himself. "And most of the school isn't in it." quickly followed by "where was bus number sixteen again?"

Don't you hate it when you suddenly forget a word so you have to rewrite the whole sentence just to circulate around that one replacement word?
