This Messenger Won't Fall Anymore

A messenger of the gods who keeps falling – how absurd, right? Don't all messengers typically sport majestic wings?" After witnessing something Atlas shouldn't have, he was condemned to an eternal fall. For over a millennium, he was trapped in the same relentless pattern: • Ascend to the zenith → Succumb to the allure of power • Plunge from grace → Meet a grisly end His duty as a divine messenger was both his raison d'être and the perpetual cause of his villainy. Without his celestial wings, he endured ceaseless falls. But now, unburdened, he has become the antithesis of a villain. He's merely cannon fodder, sharing the same fate. However, he's resolute that this time, he'll reach the summit without falling. And even if he should falter, a loyal companion shadows him across worlds, always there to catch him. So, he fell again and again, just for him. He's the only one he would fall for. 2.1 This messenger is a divine high priest

When Atlas opened his eyes, he was sitting in a high-end carriage. He looked out the glass window and saw that he was escorted by soldiers.

Atlas looked at the white robes he was wearing, then at his reflection in the glass.

He had long phoenix eyes and narrow eyebrows. His dark hair made his gold eyes shine brighter. He carried an aquiline nose that complemented his prominent cheekbones.

His pale skin was like the silk of white rose petals, making his lips redder. Atlas also had a white forehead ribbon. Atlas leaned back and closed his eyes, to receive the world's information.

The body was 20 years old, known as Eden. Eden lived in a land called Talmai. The land was peaceful until the coming of the onis. The onis were ogre-like demons, who worked as servants in hell.

They escaped purgatory and invaded the land. They brought diseases and ate humans. Seeing the carnage they brought, the god of light and darkness decided to help the humans.

They both blessed one family with the power of light and darkness. Each descendant of the family would have the power, man, or woman. Thereafter, the church of light and darkness was born.

Both sides had a temple, with a high priest. The high priest was the head of the priestly hierarchy, in the church of light or darkness. He also led the troupes during battle.

He would cast his high power of light or darkness on the soldiers, on the battlefield, strengthening them. Despite the blessing of the gods, both sides only believed in their way.

The church of light believed that only pure light should be used to battle the onis because they were the opposite. While the church of darkness believed that they should fight fire with fire.

For a long time, both sides ignored the other and fought on their own. One day, both church's elder priests Elijah and Silas met and discussed the situation.

They both concluded that the only way to get rid of the onis army, once and for all was for both sides to fight together. To cement their alliance, they joined their family in marriage.

They agreed that the high priest in both families would marry each other. That way, the followers of both churches wouldn't be so opposed to the alliance.

Eden was the high priest for the church of light, and Damien for the church of darkness. Eden's life purpose had always been to protect humans.

If he had to marry a stranger, so they could fight together, he would. While he was willing, Damien wasn't. He believed that they didn't need to marry to fight together.

Damien's sole purpose was fighting. He always disliked everything else that went with being a high priest. Since Silas saw that his son was unwilling, he proposed his other son, Daniel.

Eden accepted, since to him, it was all about saving the land. Daniel was unwilling, but his father forced him.

To give them a chance to get closer before the marriage, Silas invited Eden to spend two weeks in their castle before heading for battle.

Eden accepted, and after his little sister Leah asked if she could come, he brought her along. Leah actually had a plan, and she knew Eden wouldn't refuse her anything.

She always believed that she should be a high priestess, but her power of light, compared to her brother's, was minuscule. So logically, Eden was named the high priest.

She thought that if she could make Damien fall in love with her, and get rid of her brother on the battlefield, she would be the next high priestess. When she arrived at their home, she fell in love with Daniel at first sight.

She and Daniel immediately consummated their relationship in secret, and plotted to have Damien and Eden killed. On the way to the battlefield, Leah was siphoning Eden's light power, without his knowledge.

People with the power of light could share it, but only to a certain extent. After her brother shared with her after she asked, so she could defend herself, she gave him a necklace as a present.

That necklace was given to her by Daniel, who had infused it with dark light so she could steal his power. On the way, they fought multiple times with onis, and by the time they reached the battlefield, Eden was drained of light and perished.

Seeing that they had lost a powerful priest, Damien had to sacrifice himself to kill all the onis once and for all. He used his cursed fire and burned the entire army.

After using so much dark power, he fainted and fell from a great height, and died. Daniel and Leah became the next high priests, and the whole land hailed them as saviors. They married and lived happily ever after.

When Atlas opened his eyes again, they landed on Leah. Feeling his gaze, she smiled at him, and he smiled back.

She had long straight hair and an oval face. Her eyes were round, and she had a slightly turned-up nose. Paired with her thin pink lips, she looked beautiful.

She was also wearing pink blush robes. This mission will be easy, it should be done in three weeks max.

All the original ever wanted was for the land to live in peace. He was going to sacrifice himself on the battlefield, so all life would be spared.

He intended to use his holy fire to burn the onis army to the ground, but that amount would've killed him once he fell. The same thing happened to Damian.

To use that amount of power, and make sure it spreads everywhere, they levitate high in the air. Once they use that extent of power, they black out and fall to their death.

That's what the original intended to do, but once he reached the battlefield all his power was Leah's, and Damien had to do it.

Thanks to all the light power she siphoned, she became the most powerful high priestess in history. Everyone knew that the original was powerful, but they did not know how much.

Atlas will just sacrifice himself on the battlefield and make sure Leah dies before that. He isn't concerned with Daniel or Damien, they can do whatever they want.

Before they arrived, he used Aurora to enhance his light power and put his body in its most optimal condition. When they reached the castle, he looked at it with a smile.
