Fu Xiaochen
Honestly, it got more marks because of the translators. I am around chapter 300 or so? MC is your template Chinese MC. If I need to explain it to you, than please proceed to read this novel. You will find it entertaining. To those who know about it, Yes it's the same stuff repackaged and rebranded. MC is a Celestial Lord but doesn't acts like one. I don't even know how should he act. Anyone hurting his family is killed, his dialogues are a bit above chunibyou's and... honestly I don't know. Despite reading 300 chapters all I can say is his personality it template CN Xianxia material. It's the sam world, except China has to do something with everything. It was responsible for cutting off cultivation, it has the greatest heritage, it has the strongest masters....you get the hint. Until now I have seen only few bits of racism. If that offends you, why are you even reading a modern/urban CN novels. Oh, but you will see a great dose of nationalism. Racism includes hating Koreans and Japanese. Name calling them. And not sure why, but a strict belief that the whole world is plotting against China. Not much is explained about the world. But some hints here and there suggest a larger world than just earth. So in the end : 1: It's the same stuff. 2: Probably among the better written ones. 3: Story is okay. 4: It's actually slightly entertaining. Ciao. Keep safe.
Same cliché cultivation story like other 99% of stories about cultivation which are on this site. Old and powerful guy reborn back in time, but acts completely like naive idiot, apart knowledge about cultivation Mc is just average naive ****. If you read this story you will get: - Completely random stranger saving, even though Mc doesn't even know them and is not related with them in any way possible - If pus*y iš in trouble Mc will immediately jump and risk his life saving it, because he want to lick some - Mc acting like naive child, even though he is suppose to be old monster - exactly the same plot like in any other cultivation story, except different names for characters and other stuff. Overall don't waste your time with this story, there is nothing unique about it, neither its interesting. Basically another trash story which is overrated
I have already read like 300 mlt'ed chapters so here are some pros and cons of the novel Cons: 1. Extreme nationalism and racism to the point of being downright offensive even by xianxia standards. 2. every cliche you could possibly imagine 3. Writing style is immature and some parts and situations i think is really just copied from other novels (Rebirth of the urban immortal) 4. Villians are like totally idiotic like they would challange mc when they already know he is nearly invincible in same level by giving some insane logic like "I don't think he could fight 2 of us" and "OH! he defeated 2 but surely 3 is a limit" and "He is a monster to fight 3 we must eradicate him with 4 " and so on Pros: 1. MC is op and does not get thrashed by villains. 2. power balancing is well done and you would not suddenly see a cultivator 2-3 levels above mc just showing out of nowhere. 3. MC though idiotic like rest out there still holds on to a thread of logic. He does not just kill everyone and anyone 4. No harem as of yet and mc does not chase after skirts All in all, I am still giving it a 3 star because as long as you don't mind the extreme and i mean "EXTREME" racism and typical cliches this novel is not that bad and have many good points.
This is actually trash. 15 chaps in I was really hoping that the story would turn better, but no the same old cliche and story plot that has been used thousands of times. The amount of filler used is also unbelievable. Chap.15 was practically filler and the plot moved so slow. The level of cringe I felt was actually uncomfortable that can physically be felt. Is the standards of books dropping nowadays or something??? I would understand it may be interesting to newcomers, but for people like me who read all the time it becomes sickening to see the same line of thought used in the plot over and over and over again. Utterly disappointed.
MC is very ‘Mary Sue’ with zero flaws, invincible in all fights, adored by women (while others regret that they didn’t treat him better), envied by men, knowledgeable about EVERYTHING etc etc. Mix in casual jingoism/racism/nationalism found in so many Chinese novels and little else. The world is neither new nor interesting and merely exists to have things for the MC to beat up. [I’ve read ALL the translated chapters so this is an informed review.]
I am reviewing this novel after reading 20 chapters. The story of this novel involves modern world that is to my liking. The character of the protagonist is very impressive not like some idiot doing pointless mistakes. This novel excludes much unnecessary stuff that is used as fillers. This story is great due to urban theme. In my view this novel is worth a read.
Another cultivation novel full of cliches as others have noted. It would have been been okay since it had some interesting points too, but the racism in this one is simply on another level. Normally I ignore this in chinese novels because it is to be expected and thought that it would not be too bad even after reading other reviews. But this one takes it to entirely another level: Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, US, "Oriental", you name it, it just goes on and on, chapter after chapter so much so that it became the main story - how everyone is trying to "bully" china and of course, the MC decimated everyone single handedly. What a pathetic sick joke, the second biggest bully calling others a bully. It just became exasperating and I gave up after skimming through chapters 100-200 where it got worse if anything else. Do yourself a favour and skip this novel unless you are a radical chinese nationalist.
