A desperate Sophia found herself in so many depressing situations. No one accepted her work without asking for something in return. It was the same cycle over and over again. She had even been cheated by a supposed Director. She had no idea that he was a story writer just like her. He made her believe he would give her a chance but stole her work and denied knowing her at all. Well, what a big loss for her. Sophia was in a dilemma as to what to do next and then the inevitable happened. The Doctor told her that her mother's kidneys were failing her. A transplant was needed to save her life. The Doctor had already placed her on the list for kidney donation. It was only a matter of time before a match was found for her mother. But her mother's condition was deteriorating at an alarming rate and so the process had to be sped up or she was going to die. Well as if luck was on their side, one of the rarest things in medical history happened. The list moved pretty fast and it was soon time for her mother's surgery. It was both good and bad news. It now meant that Sophia had to come up with the money for her mother's surgery in the next 24 hours. "Miss Sophia I hope the money is ready for the operation. You must know how lucky you are to have this chance for your mother so I would say you go and make the necessary payments," Dr. Mark stated in a serious tone of voice. He seemed more like he was disappointed in her for even wasting more time." Well tough luck ", Sophia thought to herself. "Yes Doctor, I will do that", Sophia said almost in a whisper as her head hung low. "Well then I will take my leave", The Doctor said and walked out of the room. Sophia then turned to look at her mother who was sleeping at the moment. Janice had been in so much pain last night that the Doctor's had to give her a good dose of sleeping drugs. She had been sleeping for the past eight hours and from time to time a nurse would come in and check on her. So many tubes were attached to her mother's body. And the complicated machines in the rooms were beeping, showing signals she tried hard to understand. She stared at her mother's pale face. She had always been a beautiful woman and her illness could not hide it.
