Chapter 8_"The Phone Call"

Her resolve suddenly got stronger and her eyes shone with determination and resilience. And then her cell phone rang again. Without even looking at the number she just answered the call. The voice on the other end caused her blood to drain from her body. The hair on her body stood up as she froze and panicked like a person hanging off a cliff. "Hello Sophia, Then there was silence. I know you can hear me, The Man on the other end chuckled darkly. I see you have forgotten that you still owe me. A huge sum of one hundred thousand dollars, if I'm not mistaken, no?. It left no room for pity and screamed of dark intentions. "That was it! She had had enough!", She screamed in her heart. Who was she kidding? She picked her cell phone and dialed Agnes's number. The latter picked up immediately. "Hey bestie, what's up?", came the cheerful and ever-youthful voice of Agnes. "I need your help", Sophia said going straight to the point. "Tsk, such a nice way to say hello to a friend". "Please Agnes I don't have time for this, I beg you", Sophia retorted in a choked voice. Her heart was beating strongly with the decision she had made in her mind. "What is it sweetie?", Agnes said as she left the noisy place she had been just now and walked up to a more quiet corner. " You know any guy, preferably young, A rich guy who is willing to pay a huge amount of money to sleep with a virgin?", she said in one breath. Steeling herself once more she said, "I know you have your ways in connecting with such people. I know you helped the girls at the bar make such connections. So please don't shut me out, please help me", she said as tears rolled down her beautiful face. "...", The voice on the other end was quiet, Agnes couldn't believe her ears. Her friend had just given her a huge and shocking announcement. This friend of hers had always been so pure and hard working. Looks like fate finally broke her, sighing helplessly as silent tears rolled down her cheeks, she said "sure thing bestie, I will find you, someone, a nice guy so don't worry about it. She silently looked out the window and stared at the world passing by. It was gonna be quite a day.
