341 341—The Han Family Patriarch Collapsed

Han Likang was still talking, "Besides, even if I told you to do something wrong, didn't you have the brains to reject me? Instead, you ran at the first sign of trouble, got the best education and experience opportunity at my expense, and now you stand there to blame me?

"You're simply ungrateful!"

Han Leifeng laughed in anger. This old man was crazy!

But then again, what did he say that was incorrect? He was the foolish one that chose to run away from his family under the sorry excuse of protecting them.

Gritting his teeth, he said, "You've passed your point across, you may now leave. I'll make sure to fix this, so just sit at home and don't run out every two days to stress me. Remember that if I fall, the company will fall too, and so will the Han family you're desperately trying to protect."

The blood drained from Han Likang's face as he pointed a finger at Han Leifeng, "You, You—"

How dare this b*st*rd threaten him?

He closed his eyes and sought for calm. He would deal with him later. It was one thing at a time.

But his mind was made up. Once things stabilized, he would give birth to another child and give him to Liu Zhizhen to raise. It was better to train another heir instead of relying on this one with hardened wings.

Han Leifeng did not know what he was thinking, but even if he did, he wouldn't have cared.

Want to get rid of him? Fat chance!

After calming down, Han Likang said coolly, "Anyway, that's not why I'm here. I came to inform you that after hearing about the terrible state of the company, your grandfather had a stroke. He's currently in a coma in the hospital, and you have to visit him."

Han Leifeng furrowed his eyebrows, then nodded, "Since you've delivered the message, go well. I won't see you out."

The calm that Han Likang just got threatened to desert him. This arrogant b*st*rd!

With a look, he turned away imperiously. If he didn't leave now, he felt like his blood pressure would skyrocket and he would become just like his father.

It was better to leave for now. Out of sight, out of mind!

After his father left, Han Leifeng sat down once again and swiveled his chair to face the floor-length windows behind him.

His grandfather collapsed? That sounded wrong.

The patriarch Han Jianfeng was not someone he was fond of, but he had a certain understanding of the old man's personality. For someone that had weathered countless storms in the military and the business world, the recent news shouldn't have caused him to have a stroke just like that.

This was the man that still sternly threatened him the last time he visited the old house, pounding his staff on the floor with so much vigor that Han Leifeng thought the floor would crack.

It just didn't make sense.

Besides, for someone that claimed to depend on his father so much, Han Likang didn't look sad or even worried.

Something was definitely fishy.

The only reason Han Leifeng was even expending brain cells on this matter was that he needed as much dirt as he could get on the Han family, to control them properly.

He resolved to get to the bottom of the matter.

That settled, his mind turned back to the problem at hand and he picked up his phone again.

After calling thrice in a row without getting a response, he determined to go and seek Gao Tinghua out.

One phone call later, he headed towards the headquarters of Gaoyi Group. According to the person he had just called, Gao Tinghua was there.

He got there in less than forty minutes. It was already late afternoon, and the sun had already begun its slow journey to the west. Employees who covered the weekends were already making plans to clock out.

The first roadblock he met was at the reception. The receptionist was very polite at first, but when she heard his name, her smile died.

"I'm sorry, but I have strict orders not to welcome you here. Please leave."

Han Leifeng was stunned. Even before he came to the Capital, he had never been treated like this, much less since he became an heir. What was going on?

"I represent the Han Corporation, and I demand to see Mr. Gao." He said, using his authoritative voice. But the receptionist was not intimidated.

"Sorry, he can't see you now. Please leave, or I'll call security."

Han Leifeng didn't say anything else, but he didn't leave either. He just stood there, too angry to feel embarrassed.

Just as both of them reached a stalemate, Gao Tinghua came down and saw them.

"What's going on?" He asked.

The receptionist was about to speak when Han Leifeng lost his composure, "Gao Tinghua! What's the meaning of this?!"

For a moment, the company lobby became very quiet.

Then Gao Tinghua sneered, "Isn't this the resurrected young master? What do you think you're doing, making a scene in my family's workplace?"

Han Leifeng tried to control his anger. He was the one that had a lot to lose, so he kept telling himself that he had to endure more. "I came to talk to you. Can we go somewhere more conducive?"

Gao Tinghua looked at him for a full minute before nodding slightly, "Follow me."

They went to the elevator and Gao Tinghua punched in the floor of his office.

Throughout the short ride, both were silent. It was like there was an invisible chasm keeping them apart. Their easy friendship had long shattered.

Tong Zhian was sitting down at his desk, complaining about how the god of Menace left him here on a weekend to work his head off, while he just left leisurely.

Just as he was muttering to himself about how inconsiderate his boss was, he looked up to see Gao Tinghua.

Tong Zhian: "...."

Pretending he had not just been bashing his boss, he stood up and greeted him respectfully, "Did you forget something sir?"

Gao Tinghua looked at him with a glare before deciding to let it go, "I have a guest, don't let anyone disturb us."

"No problem sir. We're all ready to go off work, so see you on Monday."

"You're planning to leave me here?" Gao Tinghua's look was as though he was in a forest and Tong Zhian had just decided to abandon him to the mercy of wolves.

Tong Zhian had to relent, "I'll be here sir."

With a nod, Gao Tinghua strode into his office, leaving Han Leifeng to follow.
