331 331— You Should Have Remained Faithful To Me

Her pleasant voice rang out in the silent hall, making Han Leifeng go into a pseudo trance. He could almost see the time when her joyous laughter was all he looked forward to at the end of a tiring day.

Those were such wonderful times, and he couldn't wait to go back. This time, he would treat her well and never make her sad.

Pei Yueran's laughter abruptly ended, bringing him back to the present, "If I didn't know you very well, I would have thought you were a comedian. Ah, that's right, I don't even know you that well, pardon me."

"Yueran, I'm not joking. I want you back. In my wildest dreams, I didn't even think that you would not wait for me, I was dreaming of our life—"

His words were interrupted by Pei Yueran, who was incredulous, "Can you just hear yourself speak? You want me back? You thought I would wait for you? Wait for what? Wait for a dead person to rise again, or for your ghost to haunt me?"

"Yueran—"

"Don't Yueran me, I'm still talking. You were dreaming? Then I suggest you keep on dreaming, because that can only ever happen in your fantasies. I haven't and will never consider leaving my husband for anyone or any reason."

"But I'm your husband too. And we loved each other, didn't we? Or was your love for me back then a lie? Didn't you love me genuinely?" Han Leifeng fired question after question in a frantic tone.

Pei Yueran couldn't believe they were having such conversation. Didn't she make things clear the other day? What was he thinking?

"Mr Han, I think you've made a mistake. My first husband died, and I mourned him with all my heart. I finally found love again after a long time, and I've thrown heart and soul into my new marriage. Please put away those thoughts of yours." Pei Yueran said in a tone that suggested she was talking to an alien that didn't understand human language.

"I admit I was wrong, but you should have waited for me." Han Leifeng said, as though he didn't hear her speak.

"You yourself just mentioned that it was back then. Eight or nine years is a really long time. Why should I wait for a hopeless case?"

Flustered, Han Leifeng blurted out his true thoughts, "No matter what, you should have remained faithful to me!"

He wanted to add, 'just as I kept myself for you,' but that tiny part of his brain reminded him about the events of the last week in time, and he guiltily kept quiet.

But the pain that started in his heart when he saw her in another man's arms grew at this moment. She cuckolded him, and was still standing there defending herself?

At this point, Pei Yueran knew that the conversation was over. If she didn't leave, she was going to say something terrible.

So she gave him a mocking look, got up and picked her purse, turning to leave.

Han Leifeng wasn't ready to watch her go just like that. Without thinking, he grabbed her hand, spun her around to face him and brought his lips closer to hers, trying to plant a kiss on her lips.

Shocked, Pei Yueran gasped and held his shirt to steady herself. When his face magnified in front of her, her eyes widened. At the last second, she turned her head to the side, and his kiss dropped on her cheeks instead.

Infuriated, Pei Yueran pushed at his chest with force, causing him to stagger. Before he could recover his balance, she followed through with a slap that echoed in the hall.

Han Leifeng couldn't believe it, but the pain he could feel on the right side of his face told him it was real, "You slapped me?"

"Yes, and I will not hesitate to do it again! Do not provoke me. If you do that ever again, I'll sue you for sexual harassment." Pei Yueran said, eyes flashing.

"Yueran calm down. I did that in the heat of the moment. I'm sorry." Han Leifeng said, one side of his face smarting.

"That's all you know how to say, but guess what? I don't need your apology! I must have been blind in the past to think you were a sweet, loving man who I could entrust my life to."

"You can, you definitely can. I promise to make it up to you. Don't leave me, please." He begged, grabbing into her wrists.

Pei Yueran flung his hands away ruthlessly, "Get your hands off me and stop being delusional! I'm a happily married woman now. I hope we never have to have such an uncomfortable meeting ever again."

That said, she turned and walked out, anger propelling her forward. Hot tears burned behind her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She just wanted to go home. Once she got home, she would take a long hot shower and remove all traces of him.

Before she got out of the cafeteria though, she was stopped in her tracks by his indifferent voice, "You want to leave? Fine. But give me my son."

"And what do you mean by that?" She asked, turning to face him again. His face had cooled down to an expression that she had seen countless times on Han Yichen's face, but it was the first time since she met Han Leifeng that he was directing such at her.

"Simple, give Xiao Chen to me. Once I complete the paperwork, I'll take my son to the Capital."

"Impossible!" Pei Yueran refused without thinking.

Han Leifeng sneered, "Why? As we've established countless times, he's my son, isn't he? Besides, the Capital is where his father comes from, and that's where he belongs. Shouldn't he reconnect with his roots like you recently did?"

He had tried to make her heart soften. He was even prepared to take things slow, but she was so adamant in hating him. She even embarrassed and slapped him. Since she wasn't willing to forgive him, why did he need to consider her feelings?

Even if he had lost her, he couldn't afford to lose his son too.

Besides, a part of him felt that as long as he had one of them, the other person would have no choice but to come along. The more he thought about it, the more sense it made.

"Han Lei, how dare you?! I warn you to leave my son alone. I do not joke with Yichen. He's my life. If you dare to have any designs on him, I will not let you off!"
