313 313— Are You Delusional Or Crazy?

A doctor and nurse soon came by to check on her. After asking questions which Li Chuanmo answered, and after giving her a quick physical examination, the physician gave the nurses some instructions before telling them that she only fainted due to shock and needed to be kept overnight for observation.

They would transfer her to a room soon.

Li Chuanmo was in a foul mood, and any person with working eyes could see it. The nurse that came preferred to talk to Gao Tinghua, who looked less threatening.

Han Leifeng ran in at that moment, eyes scanning for them. When he noticed Gao Tinghua, he hurried over. "How's she? What did the doctor say?"

"None of your business." Li Chuanmo was determined to ignore him, but something about this man brought out his immature side....and made him feel insecure, even though he would never admit it out loud.

"But I'm her husband!" Han Leifeng said, exasperated.

Li Chuanmo mocked, "You mean her "dead" husband? Last time I checked, I'm her husband! Just go back to the grave where you belong and don't come out here to disgust people."

Gao Tinghua: "...."

He stared at his current brother-in-law, open-mouthed. What was called a venomous mouth?

This was it ah!

Han Leifeng could not hold back his anger. "How dare you?" He shouted as he rushed towards Li Chuanmo. Gao Tinghua sprung into action and held him back.

"Are both of you serious?" He hissed. "Look around you, where do you think we are? At one of the busiest hospitals in the Capital! One more move from you and all your actions will be splattered across newspapers and online forums tomorrow morning!

"By the way, shouldn't you be more worried about my sister? If you have this much energy, you should put it to good use instead! One more strange behavior and you can just leave."

Of course, the last few sentences was directed towards Han Leifeng. He wasn't bold enough to scold Chairman Li yet, much less order him to leave.

Han Leifeng calmed down, visibly feeling contrite. Li Chuanmo, as usual, pretended that he didn't hear him, but he also didn't do anything drastic.

"There still isn't a room available?" Li Chuanmo eventually spoke after about five minutes of no movement.

The nurse who had just finished setting up the IV fluids paused and stammered, "Ri-,right away sir." before escaping. A few minutes later, Pei Yueran was moved to a private ward.

At the door to the ward, Li Chuanmo shut both Gao Tinghua and Han Leifeng out. "My wife needs peace and quiet."

"You!" Han Leifeng said, ready to explode again, but Gao Tinghua just nodded and dragged him away in silence.

The night had been long enough without their extra drama. He needed to go back and inform his mother about the night's events.

"Why did you pull me away? I want to be there when Ranran wakes up. Who knows what insufferably arrogant jerk would say?" Han Leifeng broke the silence as they got to the parking lot.

The events of the night was still a blur and the shock was threatening to consume him, but he noticed that focusing on just one emotion helped him handle others better, so he let his anger float to the surface and ran with that.

Anger at Li Chuanmo denying him access to her. Anger at Gao Tinghua for not taking his side. Anger at himself for being so idiotic.

Even anger at Pei Yueran for not waiting for him. But he refused to dwell on that now.

In short, he was angry at everyone and everything.

In his wildest dreams, he hadn't imagined such a situation. More truthfully, he hadn't even dared to imagine it. But here it was, staring at him full in the face.

He was devastated. The pain clawed at his heart, forcing him to talk to take his mind off it.

Gao Tinghua stopped and turned, anger of his own clear on his handsome features, "Don't get me started right now. How do you feel, dropping grenades on all of us? She's your wife? Really? Pray, explain to me how exactly that is possible. Where do you even get the audacity to call her that? She was a widow for eight years, eight years Leifeng!"

He was appalled just thinking about it. He hadn't known Pei Yueran for a long time, but his background check on her was quite thorough.

Even little details were not omitted. Like how she stopped smiling when her husband died. Like how often she went to the cemetery to visit him, spending hours at his burial site. Like how she buried herself in work to dull the pain of losing him.

He couldn't imagine how she survived. But now, the b*st*rd comes from nowhere and is feeling entitled?

He continued, moving towards Han Leifeng and causing him to step back, "Where were you in all that time?! Don't tell me you were in a coma and just woke up a few days ago? Even an eight year old child is no longer a swaddling infant. Eight years is more than enough time to forget anything!"

"But she shouldn't have forgotten me!" Han Leifeng lashed out, tears in his reddened eyes. "She shouldn't. I loved her. We loved each other very much. Despite the huge pressure, I held on day after day with the thought that we would soon be reunited, that she was definitely waiting for me—"

"And who do you think you are to make the eldest daughter of the Gao family wait for you? Are you delusional or crazy delusional?"

Gao Tinghua cut in mockingly.

"Who are you that she cannot forget? You really do think that she should have left her life on hold indefinitely, for you? That she should continue living without joy, without light, waiting for a man whom she buried to come back alive?

"Han Leifeng, how big is your face???" Gao Tinghua asked, full of incredulity.

Han Leifeng was struck speechless. Could it really be like that? Was he really asking for too much?

"And you stand there to talk to me, this young master, about love? Is this really what you think love is?" Gao Tinghua pressed, sneering when he noticed Han Leifeng's frozen look.

The tiredness he had been holding back all night suddenly came over him in a rush. "I've had a long night, so I'm going back. Do as you please. You can even go back to the ward if you like.

"But I'll kindly inform you that the husband of my sister that our Gao family recognizes is not to be trifled with."
