9 Discussion (1)

A few torches made of glowing night pearls are mounted on the walls of the moon elves' underground archive. Its faint azure light contrasts with the faint silver glow of the intersecting lines on the stone-covered floor making a complex geometrical shape that serves as a part of the time-sealing formation that preserves the state of the scriptures stored in it.

The interlacing colours of light make the uneven walls of the underground archive have a certain mystifying feeling.

Tonight, three figures are seen moving in the original still halls of the archive.

The smallest of the three is the newly born moon elf lord. The other two are Legland and Nicol respectively. They patiently walked as Luis curiously poke his head into every room in the archive. Voices of surprise, awe and some side compliments can be heard from the small mouth of the juvenile moon elf lord.

"Wow, this is amazing."

"Look at that stone! Is that carved by hand or nature? So pretty."

"What is this room for?"

"Amazing, and these animal-skin scrolls are preserved to such a state even though it was from the time of Lord Karis?! That's like five thousand years ago!"

"Isn't this the staff of Lord Myrn? The scratches are all here. Just how many battles did this survived?"

Luis doesn't care if he look like an ignorant bumpkin. From the piles and piles of beast skin parchment, stone tablets and wooden blocks carved with writings, to stuffs that is left behind by the previous moon elf lord.

All these things are something that you will never see in a city library on earth!

Luis eyed all these with appreciation. The historical value of these properties transcends his initial estimation.

His gaze hit the cramped space between the stuffs of the former moon elf lords. It is such a waste that it was just left here hidden.

Luis is hit with an idea. Why don't he make a museum to house some of these things?

In this way, he can also promote the rich historical and cultural heritage of the moon elf race.

Luis is satisfied in this idea.

But that can only be done in the future.

And so the two high-ranking moon elves would alternately give answers like a seasoned tour guide. After a round of tours, the three moon elves settled in the designated room for reading. It is like a conference room with a huge long stone table and chairs. Around the walls are night pearls that made the room bright. Not as bright as the day but it is conducive for reading.

Legland pulled a chair at the foot of the table and helped Luis sit. The chair is a bit too high for the moon elf lord whose physique is the same as a fifteen-year-old. So Legland took the initiative to lift the moon elf lord.

Luis was taken aback by such a sudden move. It was only for a few milliseconds though then he ACCIDENTALLY bumped his head on the covered bulging chest muscles of the head of the sentinels.

"Oh, I lost balance. Sorry, Legland." Luis said with the most innocent face after he sat.

"It's my fault, my lord. I won't rashly touch you in the future. I'm sorry."

"No!" Luis raised his voice in horror. Its reaction was much more intense than when he found out that there will be an apocalypse after ten years. "I mean it's no big deal! I may be the moon elf lord but there are things that I cannot do myself. So I can only ask for your assistance in the future. It's good that all of you would take an initiative to assist me. Keep it up!" Luis reasoned out with all righteousness.

Just from these words, one would think that he is a virtuous leader who encourages positive behaviour.

But deep inside, his starved perverse soul is yelling, 'Touch me! Hug me! Undress me! I really don't mind if you take advantage of me!'.

"Anyway, now that we're here. Let's start." Luis said guilt-free.

His expression turned serious.

The thing with Luis is that when handling affairs and business, he tends to become too formal. His original playfulness is gone. Leaving without any trace.

Luis is oblivious about his habit. It is his former subordinates who has plenty of experience with this version of Luis.

Nicol handed pieces of wood board that he asked to prepare ahead of time and a sharp and hard wooden stylus thanks to the dirty sounding skill card.

It was meant to test the efficiency of the Morning Wood Skill. (Luis' choked on his saliva just thinking of the name.)

Luis tried to cut it with the Legland's iron dagger a while ago but the poor dagger that survived countless hunting trips and fights was severed into two.

Luis promised to replace the dagger with another one. However, Legland humbly dismissed it,s saying that he didn't deserve to receive such care. Then the sentinel politely asked if the lord can make him a wooden blade out of the spare wood that was left.

Luis was once again awed at the simple mind of the moon elves, so he didn't bat an eyelid and agreed.

He carved a single-edged dagger of the same length as that broken dagger. Luis then used the skill card to harden the blade and continuously applied more energy than what he put on the stylus. He did not stop until the wood gave off a faint woody aroma and the surface of the blade gleamed with a faint greenish hue.

The enthusiastic Legland received it with great joy that he practically look like he just met the new love of his life. Luis helplessly shook his head. He had seen such face from his friend who just bought a brand new motorbike.

And oh, Nicol has been quiet since then. Luis didn't notice the envious eyes that the priest are giving towards the sentinel.

The elf lord didn't know that the dagger that was made with this wooden blade will become a precious relic in the future for the strong life energy that it emits which is formed through countless blood that it shed.

At that time, it would be called the Eternal Blade.

Fortunately, no one knows that this artifact was made through a skill called Morning Wood Skill. Or it will cause mental shadows to the fanatics of this relic.

But that is for the later story.

"Alright, let's start with the socio-economic status of regular moon elves."

"Socio-economic status?" If the two moon elves are anime characters, there will be a huge question mark on the top of their heads.

"I'm sorry." Luis momentarily forgot that he is no longer on Earth. Some terminologies are not existing in this world. He adjusted his thoughts then he proceed to explain. "What I mean is how regular moon elves live? How do they get their food, clothes and other essential things in their regular life? Or how do they spend their entire day? Things like that. I want to know as much information as you can provide."

However, the two high-ranking moon elves immediately reacted quite strongly. And it is of disagreements.

"My lord, such things are mundane and it doesn't need to be taken care of by your greatness!"

"I also agree my lord. We can-"

Their protests are stopped with a single hand raise from Luis.

"Oh, okay. I understand then once and for all may I know what you want from me? As your lord, what can I do for you?" Luis said rather apathetically. Legland and Nicol are caught in a stupor. It is the first time that they see such an expression from the lord. As if they are nothing in front of him. They subconsciously lower their heads to not meet the gaze of the moon elf lord.

Luis himself is not angry or irritated. He knows that they are just expressing their opinions and they may genuinely care about his well-being as their lord. The man from twenty-first century Earth did this to test their reaction in the face of the pissed elf lord and also to know what they think of the duty of the lord. But it seems like his understanding of the moon elves is the one that is tested.

These people consider him a monarch. While these people consider him as the pinnacle of existence among the moon elves and pillar of security. It's just that.

They are limited by the chronicles of the history. They never know what it is like to be under the rule of the moon elf lord.

Though there may be leaders among the moon elves, they are not at the level of the moon elf lord that came out of the legends.

Plus, it's been a thousand years since the last lord exist among them. These guys are not even alive from then.

"What do you guys want from me?" Luis sigh.

Both moon elves' faces became visibly paler under the lights of the night pearl.

"I- we," Nicol was rendered speechless.

"We apologize for our impertinence. We-"

Luis interjected. "Don't apologize without knowing your own fault. I, the lord of the moon elves declare that statement as the number one rule for everyone that is working for me. This is effective starting right now. Remember that."

The two nod their head yes. "What do you think the lord should do?"

"How dare we-"

"Rule number three-

"We haven't had rule number two, my lord." Nicol corrected.

"Who told you so? Rule number two is don't be afraid of correcting the lord when he said or did something wrong." Luis shamelessly reasoned.

"I see, I apologize my lord."

"The reason is?"

"For speaking without checking the truthfulness of my words, my lord."

"Okay," Luis felt guilty for such a righteous priest.

"Anyway, Don't you think it is my responsibility to take care of the whole race? Isn't it natural for me as someone who will lead the moon elves in the future, to know what the current situation of my people is?

"Strength is the most important to our race. I understand that the previous moon elf lord that came before ruled with absolute strength and power. However, they are not me. Their accomplishments written in the scriptures in this archive will never be the same as mine.

"Now, I'll ask you. Would you like to assist me in creating a different world for our race?" Luis didn't know when, but he suddenly find himself saying such bullsh*t. What he only wanted to do was to have his previous questions answered. Damn him for fooling around earlier. He even forgot to say the rule number three which is to directly answer the questions that he asked.

Now thinking of it, isn't it much easier if he just said that rule in the first place?

On the other hand, the high-ranking moon elves who got their first taste of MLM statement felt their chests burning. Their thoughts are racing. They have read and heard the story of the valour of the previous moon elf lords. In their heart, they genuinely wanted to see a powerful lord make great history with their very own eyes.

This is the reason why most moon elf warriors are hell hell-bent on becoming strong. For them, they can only stand beside the moon elf lord if they are strong enough. This is the case of Legland. On the other hand, Nicol strived to become the head priest so that he can be useful to the moon elf lord.

Now that the lord asked their help to lead the moon elf race. Isn't this a wish come true?!

Standing up and then kneeling in front of the sitting moon elf lord. The two bravely declared their oath.

"I swear upon the name of the moon goddess, Lunaris. With every light of my soul, I will faithfully follow your will my lord! This humble Legland of the Gorgon clan, leader of the temple's sentinel will become your servant forever."

"I swear upon the name of the moon goddess, Lunaris. With every light of my soul, I will faithfully follow your will my lord! This humble Nicol of the Ris clan, head priest of the moon goddess' temple will become your servant forever."

And just like that. The stupid moon lord has received two faithful followers.
