ThenCameYou

When your life is slowing deteriorating for the second time due to the second diagnosis of Lymphoma you start to lose sight of the good things in life, or so that’s what Delilah St Claire thought, she never thought that a 6ft something curly blonde hair quite famous influencer going by the name of Vincent Hammersmith would change that. Vincent the trouble making Influencer who takes life for granted comes across Delilah when he visits the hospital she is staying at and both get off to a bad start not taking a liking to each other, but as life events push them closer physically, mentally they start showing each other there is more to life than what they think they know about it. Sometimes the weaker ones are the ones that make sure someone else is never in pain.

"Where the hell have you been" came the sheer panicked voice of my mum as I walked into the door and was greeted by herself and Patricia both crossed armed with frowns on their faces, "morning to you two too" I tried to ignore the fact that I had stayed out the whole night listening to the absurd stories Vincent had told me, from when he was first starting to get noticed to the most recent stories, they were all dumb and very much his fault but trying to not be such a Debby downer when he is around so he doesn't always point it out.

"Delilah! I am serious where have you been? we have been worried sick that you had been kidnapped or worst killed, you can't tell us you are going somewhere and then not keep us informed that you are still alive" Patricia said as I shrugged and nodded taking in there obvious worry and walking into the kitchen "I'm sorry I didn't text you guys, I lost track of time and wasn't looking at my phone a whole lot so when I did I came straight home, you told to live a little and not act like I'm dying all the time and now I am being told off for living a little" I said as I knew that they were right, that I should have let them know I was alive but they had been on about me living a little and enjoying life while I am alive and blah blah.

"When we said that we meant responsibly not out till all hours and doing God knows what with God knows who" my mum said as Helena had appeared in the kitchen with messy bed hair and the face of death written all over her, "can you guys like keep the noise down some of want to die in peace" she said as I smiled as she came and sat next to me at the table and the mums were leaning on the kitchen counters still cross armed and frowning, so not much of an improvement in the situation.

"I am dying, yes we all know this so I am going to have some fun, mum, Patricia, Helena and I need to have as much fun as possible while we are here and you can moan and get angry at us all you want but, we don't know how long we have left and I would love for you guys to let go of these leashes you have on us, let us make mistakes and whatever while we still can because, we've spent too long being strapped into hospital chairs and being drained out for the majority of our lives, we get it, we need to look extra after ourselves but come on" I said as the mums sighed and Helena looked over at me and rested her head on my shoulder. "what's for Breakfast?" she added.

_-_-_-_-_

After a long period of lessons and mental tiredness Helena and I decided to hangout in the nearest park, so we could get some fresh air, away from the mums that had been apologising for the past few hours and being very extra with assisting us.

"Do you think we made them feel guilty for being normal parents?" Helena asked as I shrugged as we were playing on the pair of swings in the park, it was getting a little dark but the feeling of being kidnapped or killed was probably a better feeling then dying of cancer, you are always made to be so strong and brave when you die of cancer and beautiful and intelligent as a murder victim, I'd rather have the second option then the first.

"you guys shouldn't be out this late" A voice spoke up from behind us before I could answer Helena's question, we turned around to face the voice and it turned out to be an older man with a trolley full of stuff which meant, a homeless person looking to, I don't know sleep somewhere or cause unnecessary drama with people, "We are getting some fresh air, we've been dying from cancer for majority of our life so would love to get some air before we pass on" Helena said as I tried to hold in the giggles that were surfacing in my throat, the homeless guy all of a sudden backed up a little, and just like that we become worse than a homeless man.

"We are still human, don't worry about it it's not contagious, you're safe" Helena added as he started to walk off into a different direction, I guess we weren't worth killing because we would be gone soon anyway, we might have tasted weird if that was what he was into. "honestly, I can never get tired of being a cancer patient, because you are always treated like sour milk" I said as Helena laughed and I jumped off the swing and she followed.

"We should do something crazy!" I said as she looked at me confused "I mean having cancer is crazy! how much more crazy do you wanna get?" she added as I randomly just laid down and looked up at the stars, and then she came and stood right above me looking down at me "I want to do something super crazy, like go to a house party uninvited? or disturb something" I said as she smirked a little and shook her head "you know I can never say no to disrupting something" she said as she joined me just lying there looking up at the stars.

"Why don't we just go now, see where the night takes us, it's Friday, it's not like Saturday is going to give us anything better?" She looked over at me and giggled "what has gotten into you? I thought you wanted to just die in your room?" She added as I closed my eyes and just took in the cold breeze hitting my face "as I said to mum, we need to start living as if we are still going to wake up tomorrow, so we can die knowing we lived how we wanted" I said with a smile as Helena moved herself so her head was resting on my stomach "let's do it!" she said as I snapped up which resulted in her head now being placed on my lap, the smile I had on my face grew wider and she smiled up at me. "where do we go though?"

I hadn't spoken to Libby or Zack in ages, but I knew that one of them would have something to do on a Friday night/Saturday morning, and that's exactly why I had to keep these people around me, just in case I did somehow survive the second round of cancer, then I could party again and live the life I wanted.

And like that we had a party to go to, but the fact we were both in joggers and oversized jumpers definitely wasn't going to be our fits for the night ahead, plus we also had to let our beloved parents know where we were about to go, and no doubt there would be a load of rules and blah blah.
