3 Guns

Zed went to his room and began searching. It wasn't before long that he found a tent and some other camping gear. He found a first aid box and some fishing equipment. Lastly, he found a full-body hockey suit and armour. This would come in extremely useful as, like weapons, armour also increased in strength and abilities.

Now that he had retrieved these things, the only thing left the retrieve was a gun. Because his father was ex-military of course he had guns in his household. Surely his father wouldn't notice a rifle and a bit of ammunition gone as he owned a large amount.

Zed moved to his fathers gun room where he kept all of his weapons. Once he reached it he remembered the keycode to the door and entered it. As he walked in he saw many guns and weapon accessories.

He would only need a single rifle and a lot of ammunition. He had plans to use this rifle not on the zombies but instead for hunting. Or at least until the animals mutated into their beast form. A wild animals beast form was decided by two factors, species and the strength of the animal. Luckily for Zed, the process of mutation wouldn't occur for a while.

Looking through the guns, Zed found one which he liked. It was an M4A1 tactical assault rifle with a silencer and shoulder strap. It also used a thermal scope. This rifle would be perfect for hunting and any early Apocalypse fights he may get into.

He picked up the M4A1 and swung it over hid shoulder. The thermal scope wouldn't be the best all the time so Zed decided to pick up a second ACOG scope. Now that all the weaponry had been acquired he needed to gather the correct ammunition. He grabbed a duffle bag and put all the ammunition he needed into it.

Right as Zed was about to leave the room a memory popped up in his head of a girl and her family which had saved him from certain death when he was weak. After Zed had fully recovered from his injuries they went their separate ways until he met the girl's father many years later. The man was the sole survivor of the family. This happened early in the apocalypse so he had not thought about it until now, however, Zed knew what he had to do. He felt a certain connection to them and wished to repay them from his previous life.

"I guess if I am to save them I've got to stock up on weapons, " Zed said as he sighed and scratched his head.

Zed then proceeded to load multiple weapons into the duffle bag such as a shotgun, two more assault rifles, and a hunting rifle. he also collected some more scopes and ammunition for said guns.

Although this would supply him and the family with sufficient protection, for the time being, it wouldn't last and thus he needed to visit the weapons dealer once again. This wasn't a hassle as such since she was a sight for sore eyes.

Once Zed finished packing everything into the duffle bag which now looked as though it would explode, he snuck out of the gun room. He made sure to close the door softly and lock it so that his parents wouldn't become suspicious. After this, he quickly and quietly moved from the room out to his back yard, jumped over the fence and made a run towards his car. Though the run was more of a shuffle due to the sheer weight of all the stuff he was carrying.

When he finally made it to his Ford Falcon he opened the driver door and placed all of his gear onto the back seat. He then got into the driver's seat and started up the engine. As expected the engine gave a roar as it started which then turned into a hum as the car sat in place. He reversed out of the driveway and spun around to have the car facing in the direction of the weapons store. The engine roared once again as he drove off.

Since ranged weapons couldn't level up, Zed needed to buy some more melee weapons for the family as he had decided it was probably best to help them survive until they could do it by themselves. Giving them melee weapons was the best way to make sure they could do this. Only melee weapons can level up and increase in strength since they could come into contact with the infected. The guns would still be used by the family in the beginning until they could be considered strong enough to fight the zombies head-on.

...

The sound of that same car engine could be heard by the store owner so she got up from her seat to check out what was happening. When she saw Zed once again she smiled and welcomed him back.

"Hello, again sir. Why back so soon?" she asked with her pretty smile.

Zed looked at her and responded blankly, "I just decided I needed some more stuff."

The girl's face went blank. "I-I see..." she said as she came back to her senses.

Zed moved throughout the store looking at any melee weapon which looked like it could kill with ease. He saw weapons from spears to swords to knives and staffs.

In his memory, the girl was a cute and fragile girl which meant the best weapon for her would be the katana. Much like Zed her best fighting style would be through speed and not through sheer strength. The girl's little brother while still young needed to fight. In the past, this boy was able to use flame element and thus he wouldn't need a weapon. The father was a large and muscular man, probably the reason he survived so long in the apocalypse. He would need a long and strong blade. Finally, the girl's mother was a lot like the girl and seemed thin and fragile. Zed decided the best weapon for her, however, was the spear since he remembered she had been a dance school instructor before the apocalypse. He knew a very powerful spear technique named the bladed dance.

With all this in mind, he chose the weapons for the girls family paid for them. He then left the store after warning the store owner to stay inside 2 days from now.

All of a sudden the system's voice began speaking, 'Your mission has been completed and preparations for the apocalypse have been made. Your next mission is, "A Car Worthy For An Apocalypse." This will be the 3/3 part of your prep missions and thus you will receive 5,000 XP.'

It was getting late and so he headed for the mountains.

...

Zed sat on the roof of his car at the top of the Ramapo Mountains, city lights in the background. He would sleep here for tonight and continue driving the next day until he got to his friend's house in DC. The reason for this was the fact that his friend's father owned a car workshop. Perfect to complete the next mission.
