Part 3

I got the office earlier than normal and the day just got worse. There was no one working people were playing around and making a mess of the office. I started a slow clap, and everyone turned to me shocked. It was obvious that they weren't expecting me.

"Oh no don't stop on my account, just wanted to let you know I will be selling this company soon, carry on."

I left and went to my office; my assistant came into my office and he was just as confused as everyone else.

"Boss is it true? Are you really going to sell?"

"I wasn't planning on it Simon but if the office looks like this when I'm not around what will happen when I'm running three companies at once hmm? I'll be gone for weeks at a time! If people here only work when the boss is in the office, then its best I sell the company and simply worry about the other two that I have to work with."

"Boss you can't sell! We love working here, the workload isn't too heavy, the pay is good, and the benefits are amazing. We are all treated well with no discrimination from upper management. It's a dream to work for a company like this."

"So, what do you suggest? I train someone? There is no current CEO I want running my company I would rather sell than watch them ruin all my hard work. I built this company from the ground to what it is today."

"Do that then, train someone. Don't just let it all go to waste."

My assistant then left, and I pondered on the idea. What if?

The person had to be fresh from school, with no experience so they would not have a big head. I would make it so that it seemed like an apprenticeship. Take on two of them each of them from poor to middle-class backgrounds, the rich kids had enough support from their families. I wanted someone hungry, someone with everything to gain and nothing to lose, that is the person I wanted to be the next CEO of my company. 'It could work'.

I would call a meeting with the trustees to announce my departure and the plan so that they knew that the company we raised would be secured. They would fight me, but I know eventually they will see my perspective. I wasn't the youngest CEO for nothing.

I heard a knock at my door and immediately knew it was Blair she had this way of announcing herself before she entered a room.

"Come in," I said.

She walked in still dressed in her school uniform, but she still managed to look like she was on the runway. She was beautiful and smart, but she had this way of irritating me in a way no one else knew how to do. Not even Carys could irritate me as Blair could, it's like she knew all my buttons and would push them on purpose, sometimes not even on purpose.

I stood up when she walked through the door and took her by the hand, I kissed it, she giggled. I took my blazer off the coat hanger and we left the building. I was taking her to have some frozen yoghurt and talk.

We sat down in a booth after we bought our frozen yoghurt. She got strawberry, I got English toffee.

"Blair, you irritate me in a very special way, that has to stop. I want us to try dating so that when we get married, we can at least be on romantic terms and we don't have to fake the wedding."

She looked shocked for a moment then she smiled the biggest smile I have ever seen on her face, she then shed a single tear from those gem-like eyes and said:

"I thought you wanted to tell me that we should see other people, you don't know how happy you just made me. Hunter, you're the most ignorant person on earth but also the most caring and sweetest I have ever met. You treat me well regardless of what I do to you. I can irritate you knowingly or not, but you still treat me well. I love that about you."

Blair got up from her seat, hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. She then sat down next to me and we finished our yoghurt. We talked about the things we had missed in each other's lives since we last met. 'Maybe this marriage won't be so bad after all.'
