He could raise his wife

Alix was standing besides Caishen's car, facing him awkwardly as she mulled around, hesitant to make the request which was the true reason for her walking out with him.

"The parking is filled with cars, go and make your choice. We also have four drivers in the house, pick one to take you around. In case you are worried for your safety, take two bodyguards with you. I will ask my mother to hire you your own security team." he was a bit impatient when he said all this to her.

His eyes kept darting to the inside of the car, indicating that he wanted to leave. He also had a phone in his hands and he was texting as he looked at her furtively.

"Thank you, but that's not why I followed you, well, not exactly." she said.

He put the phone down and asked, "What is it?"

Alix took a deep breath and tried her best to calm her unsettled nerves before she ended up hurling all of her breakfast on his expensive charcoal suit.

"It's about our wedding gifts." she said in a small soft voice that almost sounded like a whisper.

Technically, as his wife she was entitled to half of the monetary gifts which they had received at the wedding. That Zhang's were a powerful family and so had been the caliber of half of their guests. If she had to guess, they had received millions in gift money. A small portion of that money could go a long way in solving many of her problems in the game world and here in the physical one.

"My mother is donating all that money to charity." he told her.

The smile which had been forming on Alix's face froze and she blinked like a confused little cat.

Caishen saw her reaction and he turned his face away so that she could not see him smiling secretly.

"But, I mean, it's.." she sounded so disappointed to hear this.

He turned back, looked at her and said, "Charity is a good thing. We get more blessings when we help the less fortunate. I hope it does not displease you that this decision was made without your consent."

She faked a smile on her face and waved her hands, "No, no, charity is a good thing." she said.

Deep down she thought, I am also a charity case, why didn't you save me at least one hundred thousand yuan?

"Your face doesn't correspond with your words." he told her.

Alix smiled even wider, trying to appear excited when she was not.

"Mmm, I will see you later then." he said.

"Wait." she yelled and bent down, grabbing the arms of the wheel chair. "Wait." she repeated.

Surprised, Caishen gave her a quizzical look.

Haha, she laughed nervously and crinkled her nose in a manner that made her look adorable.

"I need a favor, a very small favor." she raised one hand, pinching her thumb and pinky finger together.

He scoffed and raised the eyebrow of his right eye curiously. Here it comes, the request to connect her father to business associates, or would it be to come with him to his company.

"I need a small personal loan, just a little bit of money, one to two hundred thousand yuan. I will pay you back in one, no two months." She raised two fingers of her right hand and then folded her hands together in a pleading manner.

It had to work, he had to say yes, she thought. She was not asking for free money, after all.

"Move backwards." he said coldly.

Alix realized immediately that she had invaded his space a little more than she intended to. She stepped back and apologized hastily but kept her eyes on him.

Say yes, she urged him with her eyes.

Caishen touched his pocket and produced a bank card. "I am not sure how much is on here, just use it. Why would I lend money to my wife? Do you want to go around telling your friends that I cannot afford to raise you?"

Alix reached out and grabbed the card shamelessly with happiness on her face. She would not have to begin married life with a debt to pay back.

"Thank you very much, I will be happy to be raised by you young master," she said.

"Mmm, you said that I am your man after all." he said.

The excited smile on her face froze and she turned her eyes to look at him. Was he making a joke?

"Hahaha." she laughed forcefully, "Yes, I did say that. Well, I will be rushing off to work as well. Thank you again for the upkeep, I will see you tonight."

She bowed so much that half of her body bent over and her head ended up almost touching his knees.

Caishen was helped into the car, and he left, leaving behind an Alix that was waving enthusiastically.

"Hmm, I thought that you said you were planning to cut up the bank card because you would not be feeding any free loader from the Lin family." his assistant said, teasing him obviously.

"She cut off her ties to the Lin's, she can have the money." he answered.

"I heard that she declared during breakfast that you were her man. Wow, who knew that she had been pining after you all these years. Tsk, tsk, boss Zhang, you are lucky. A little beauty fought for you..."

"Gu Biming, why are you so chatty today?" Caishen asked his assistant who was also one of his closest friends.

"I am just happy for you. It looks like you married the right right sister after all. But last night was your wedding night, did you....." Gu Biming left off and wiggled his eyebrows, smiling suggestively.

Caishen sighed and opened his laptop while mumbling, "Why do I ever bother with you?"

Alix meanwhile was having the time of her life going from one end of the garage to the other as she tried to pick one car out of the ten which were all available for her to use. All were expensive, so much so that she was afraid to touch any of them.

What if she scratched it and they asked her to pay compensation? She shook her head and walked out of the garage with sad puppy eyes. It would be better to take a taxi.

"Wow, wow, Billi was a fool." she said to herself. He might be crippled but Zhang Caishen was still handsome and he had all his wealth. If she helped him stand up again, wouldn't Beijing's most sought after man return?

Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to get close and mark her spot as soon as she could. When Caishen got back on his feet Bili would want him back, but she Alix would not stand by and allow that to happen.

She would be the one to take things from Billi now, and not the other way round.

"Zhang Caishen, you are now mine." she said with determination.
