Chapter 65

"Your daughter... thinks highly of herself. I guess the personality runs through the blood?"

"Go straight to the point," Marquis Lucius replied, his teeth clenched.

"Your daughter doesn't follow rules as well, your fancy carriage was running through the sidewalk. They almost hit a kid if only it weren't for my reflexes, the kid must've been squashed."

"Wha--"

"Of course, I didn't let it go, why? The kid was only eight years old, and was just simply walking through the sidewalk not expecting a carriage was about to run over him. I corrected the lady and what did they say to me? I was insolent, they called me an insolent one for correcting them and by talking to the lady they respected." Nash glared at the Marquis.

"Hah... as if that's true."

"When I corrected her, she ordered her knights to drag me to a quiet alley. Guess what they did to me?" Nash grinned more wickedly, "They beat me up."

Duke Eiler smashed the table causing it to crack, "What is that, Marquis?"

"I... I don't know anything about that! My daughter would never do something like that! Don't believe her!"

"Asked him, he witnessed everything that happens at the alley," Nash pointed at Kane.

"You knew about that?" Aeries asked him.

"I did."

"You!" The Marquis once again walked towards Nash attempting to hit her when the emperor spoke.

"Do it." Nash dared.

"Stop," Roven said, in a threatening voice. "Your daughter will be removed from the candidate."

"Your Majesty! That is not true! I know my daughter more!"

"One more sentence and I'll drag you outside," the Marquis Lucius stayed silent. He kept on giving Nash death glares.

"I'll kill you" the Marquis Lucius mouthed on Nash.

Nash smirked and mouthed, "I'll wait."

The hall fell silent after the Emperor spoke.

"When will we be exiled?" Nash asked.

"I thought you had a proposal," Duke Eiler asked.

"It appears like you don't want to hear it, so let's proceed on being exiled."

"Nash," Aidan whispered.

"Shh..."

'As if I let you guys get exiled.'

"How important is it?" The emperor asked.

Nash smirked, 'Yes... get curious.'

"I'm sure our seniors already told you about the creatures that went out of the cave, am I right?"

"Yes," Thed answered.

"But that is not even a quarter of the creatures hiding inside the cave." The council all looked at Nash.

"What else is in there?" Viscount Mhurt asked.

"Hmm... I'm afraid I can't tell you that, I apologize," Nash bowed and looked back at the emperor, "So... when will we be exiled, Your Majesty?"

"I'll accept the proposal,"

Nash grinned, 'I knew you would.'

"What is your condition?" Roven asked.

"We'll stay at Peridot Village."

The squad 15 looked at her in shock, "Peridot?!"

"Are you sure?" The Emperor asked,

"Yes, that is the empire's most remote village. If we stay there, the council will not think of us as a disgrace... Is it alright?"

Members of the council who declared they were a shame paused in their seats.

"Then let me tell you what I know," Nash said, looking at the chair in front of her. As you are aware, I was hurt the last time, and my wound is still not completely healed."

The emperor sighed, "Yes, sit down."

'This brat is playing.'

"Then, I have one request, that is, you can't ask me why I went inside the cave." The emperor nodded and waited for Nash to speak, "I saw a few evil creatures inside as well as several tree-like figures and other creatures with wings, some of which are small, some of which appear to be shadows, and some of which are animal-like."

She also described the characteristics of the animals she observed. Some are made up, but based on the animals she encountered during her training in the underworld, they are real.

"That is all, Your Majesty."

"I see," Roven looked at Duke Barcley who has been listing the creatures Nash had saw, "Is there something else?"

"There is something"

"What is it?"

"The bunker," Roven's brows pulled together.

"What is it?"

'It's not used before?!'

"There are small metal doors attached to the ground, if you open it, you will see a large wide space of room."

"Underground?" a council member asked.

"Yes, I found 3 in Greytown, I think all people in Greytown will be safe inside once the war starts."

Yjhan started to glare at Nash, 'Is the metal door she's saying is the one junk at the door last week?'

"So what are you suggesting?" Duke Eiler asked,

"Isn't it better to check for the other town and village for bunkers? It would be a great thing to save the empire's people."

"It is a great idea. I think I heard about those bunker things," Duke Barcley said.

"I see, you may go, you will leave tomorrow."

Nash bowed, "Thank you for your consideration, Your Majesty."

The handcuffs were released by the knight guards as soon as they stepped outside the conference hall.

"Don't you have something to say?" Aeries asked,

"I apologize, I didn't tell you about it since I know you will react."

"Of course we will!"

"I'm sorry, okay?"

Aeries sighed, "Let's go"

...

"Sister!" The brats ran towards Nash.

"Sister! We heard you were locked in a dark place!" Bret said.

Nash patted his head, "Yes, I am."

Nash looked at her squad mates, "You guys go first."

Nash crouches to be on the same height as the kids, "I'm going to tell you something very important."

"Is this a mission, again?" Mackie asked, in excitement.

"Yes."

"Okay!"

"Whatever happened next month, don't be scared. Be brave and don't do anything reckless."

"Huh?" The brats were confused.

"A war... is going to occur soon. I want you to help the townspeople in entering the bunker. If you hear an alert sound, don't think about anything else and guide the people inside. I know it's a lot to ask for, but--"

"We got it, sister" Shiela said, smiling.

"Even if you do that, make sure to get inside when you see any dangerous animals, okay?"

"Yes, sister!"

'I'm a bad sister... Asking little kids for this?'

Nash told them about the bunker near the entrance; thankfully, the brats are intelligent enough to understand what Nash was saying.

"I will leave tomorrow,"

"Again?"

Nash nodded, "Do you want something for your birthday?"

"I want something sweet!" Bret raised his arms.

"Me too!" The brats followed.

Nash chuckled, "Alright, I'll get you something sweet."

...

"I'm very very very sorry!" Nash bowed in front of Yjhan. She knew he was giving him glares but she ignored it.

"Haa... all you bring are problems."

"I did well earlier, though?" She grinned.

Yjhan flicked her forehead. "You really are annoying."

"I know! HAHAHA"

"That's not something to brag about. Fix your luggage."

"Yes, leader!"

The next day, they left town and used the portal to get to Peridot Village.
