Chapter 22

"Going back to our topic, father, I will be leaving tomorrow night to be with my squad again. We had already agreed that I would visit the Palace once or twice every two months. There is no need to be concerned because I usually send letters every three days or weeks."

"Not after we discovered you were sensed by a Kapre," Vincenzo interrupted.

"They may have a big muscular body, but they're not usually good at combats, you know. I've been training for years, if you count my time with Uncle Vicor."

'Speaking of them...'

Nash examined her mother's and sister's earrings and noticed that they were both wearing the earrings she had given them.

'Good'

"They might raid you at night; I heard your inn was already worn out. Even ants can destroy your inn." Vincenzo said.

"Then why don't you give us a mission so we can get out of that worn-out place?" She wants to roll her eyes but stops herself. "Don't you realize how skilled my squad is?"

"Nash, just listen to your father," Ivelisse said.

"No!" Nash responded in a heinous manner. "Those Kapres won't be lurking for long; it's almost the cold season, so they'll be hiding."

"How did you know about that?" Nash was taken aback by Roven's question.

"After reading the article about the creatures seen in the abandoned place, I studied a few books about them, and discovered that they hide throughout the winter season." Nash explained, "Anyways, I'm not alone, so if anything bad happens, I'm with my squad."

She said, changing the topic.

"Still, I won't let you get back," Roven said, firmly.

"I will,"

"Try and you'll regret it," Roven gave Nash his threatening glares.

"Father, I will not forgive you if you do something to my innocent squad." She fought her father's stares. "I can fight and defend myself; I'm not that selfish, so if there's a problem, I'll ask for help; don't worry."

Daniel looked at his younger sister and smirked, 'As if you would.'

"The creatures mentioned today are still middle-class, and they can still be powerful. If you want to beat them, you must train hard."

Nash crossed her arms and leaned comfortably on her chair.

"Yeah, right. About the training day. Why is it that our training day is only held in one day and only a few hours? Is that even considered training? It's more like a workout, you know?" She confronted her oldest brother, Vincenzo. Try to persuade Uncle Lawrence to create a new schedule of knight training; it would be preferable if there were squads that trained at the same time to battle themselves."

Nash also added, "It will be better if the training days were two to three times a week. If possible, then everyday training; however, due to some missions, it is not possible, therefore, in order to train longer, try to have 2 to 3 squads to train together, or perhaps establish a training site for us squad knights. It's fine if the magic knights join us for training, in fact, it'll be better to train the squad on how to fight with someone who has magic abilities, that's if they want to train with us."

She took a deep breath after talking continuously.

"That doesn't sound bad at all." Daniel whispered to Vincenzo. "The issue, though, is where the training ground should be built."

Because there are so many knights, they take up all of the training fields. Now that the knights have multiplied, the training grounds are taken up. That is why creating a new training site is an excellent option.

"You can build one training site, even in a free place is fine as long as there's no disturbance," she looked at her father. "See how smart your daughter is?"

She looked at her smugly.

"I'll think about it," Roven replied.

"Then, can I return to my squad tomorrow?"

"I'll think about it as well," Roven stood up, "Vincenzo, come to my office, we'll talk about something."

"Mom, I'll be training with our knights. I'll be back before dinner." Daniel said and followed the other two out.

"I'll be preparing for a parlor hosted by Lady Mcley," Celeste said as she went to her room to prepare.

Nash looked at her mother, who was staring at her.

Ivelisse sighed, "Honestly, I want to imprison you here if it's the only way to keep you safe, but I trust you on this one, young lady. Once I heard news about you being hurt by a creature or being tracked by creatures then don't expect to have a Squad to return to."

'But I'm a knight, I have to fight too.' she thought to herself.

"I get it, mom"

"You are welcome to come to my office later, and we will have snacks." Nash nodded as he observed her mother leave the dining hall.

"Aren't you leaving now, Princess?" A maid asked.

"Don't we have more dessert? I want something with chocolate,"

"We currently have a chocolate croissant, chocolate ice cream, and macarons. Which one do you want to eat, princess?"

Nash smiled, "All of it please. 2 pieces of Croissants, a bowl of ice cream and 5 pieces of macarons. Thank you."

"Then I'll be right back, Princess."

Nash sighed and stared at the ceiling, and chuckled.

'I guess I have a talent for being stubborn.'

...

Nash spent her time with her family, mostly with her mother. They chatted about the experience she had while being a squad knight.

At night time of the next day, she bid farewell to her family and teleported to Katherine's room.

"Shit, you scared me!" She saw Katherine packing her clothes. She walked over to her bed and sat on it, staring at Katherine.

"Didn't you just return from a mission?"

Katherine sighed. "Clients always ask for us, therefore, we don't have any choice but to do our missions."

"Man, that's exhausting." Nash dropped herself on the bed. "I honestly thought that you would feel uncomfortable with new people."

"I thought so, too, but they're all my friends already. And I feel comfortable with them so there is actually no problem being with them. The only problem is me overusing my power, I easily get exhausted." she zipped her bag and stood up to sit beside Nash. "Fortunately, the client of ours can open a portal, so I don't think my power will be worn out."

"I see. You should take care. I'll get going now, safe travels."

"Oh wait! About this!" Katherine waved her bracelet that has a healing power in it, "you gave it to me, right?"

Nash showed her wrist and there is her bracelet. "Never take it off, even when bathing."

"I know. Don't worry. That's why I also have something for you. I bought this while were having mission on Siamtown"

"You're lucky you get to go to different places."

"I know right, we're famous in the magic knights too, you know, maybe that's why we have constant missions." she said in a smug face. She removed Nash's hood and placed the hair-clip she had purchased on her. "Ha! I really am good at fashion."

It's a crystal gold floral hair clip.

"See, it matches you!"

"You know that I can't style my hair much, right?"

"Well, I only bought it because it piqued my interest. I never thought of you when I bought that, though it really is for you." Nash pulled her friend's hair. "That hurts!"

"Next time we have free time to talk to each other, we'll talk about the coming-of-age ceremony."

"Then, I'll wait for that day to come." As soon as Katherine bid her farewell, she disappeared in front of Nash and teleported downstairs to bid goodbye to her father.

Nash left the inn using the window and walked towards their squad's inn.

While walking, she realized something, 'Now that I notice it, the doppelgängers are quiet.'

"It's like they don't have any bad intentions."
