1 Chap 1 - Surviving in a New World: Building, Hunting, and Crafting

My name is Adam, I cannot remember my last name, and I woke up in a world surrounded by things I didn't understand. All I had was a basic understanding of how to survive in the area where I was.

On my first day, my main objective was to search for food and drink. At first, it took me a long time to encounter a monster, but as the day went on, more monsters began to appear.

So far, I have not encountered any difficulties in hunting monsters, all of which have been easy to hunt. All I needed was to throw some stones at them.

At the end of the day, I simply wanted to build something that would serve as a shelter. I tried to make the shelter as comfortable as possible, even if it was temporary.

I also decided to craft tools and weapons from items I found throughout my journey. In order to do this, I used materials like wood, stone, metal, and bone, and created various objects that helped me.

There are many different types of materials, but I am still learning about them. For example, there is an item called "stone" that can be broken down into smaller pieces with a hammer. There is also another item called "metal," which can be shaped using tools or anvils. Bones can be used to create sharpened blades, and leather can be used to make gloves and other accessories.

The most useful tool I have found so far is a "hammer." With a hammer, I can break apart large chunks of rock and break open hard shells. It's much easier than using only your bare hands! The more you use it, the stronger it gets!

As for weapons, I have discovered that a sword or spear is very effective against most animals. If I am being attacked by multiple enemies, a sword will do a lot of damage to their bodies while giving me enough time to escape.

To date, I have yet to find any type of armor that would help defend myself. However, I do know that there are certain materials that can be combined together to make armor. So far, I have made a set of armor that protects me from physical attacks.

On my second day, I was awakened early by monsters who were destroying my shelter, which I had spent hours building. I was very frustrated by this.

In a single blow, I destroyed this monster without even seeing it because I felt anger for the first time.

Even though I'm not aware of the strength of this monster, judging by the way it demolished the shelter, I believe it to be at least dangerous. Therefore, I should build a stronger shelter next time.

Again, my day was spent hunting and building a base, with the difference that this time my base was built to withstand monster attacks.

I decided to use the rock I found because it looked sturdy enough to serve as a base.I broke it down with my hammer and used the parts to create walls, floors, and ceilings.

I then placed some rocks I found on top of the walls to prevent monsters from breaking through and attacking me. I did not want to put too much effort into making this shelter since I knew I wouldn't be here forever.

Today, I was fortunate enough to have a quiet day without any monsters attacking my base. Whether this was due to their disability or simply luck, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my hunt.

I feel confident that I will be able to survive if I can protect myself from attacks. In order to do this, I must learn more about the world around me, such as the terrain, weather conditions, and the types of monsters that inhabit it.

On the fourth day, I decided to hunt down a monster that I believed to be the strongest in the region, to use his skull as a warning. Everything went well, and he was not strong enough to represent any kind of danger.

I was able to determine that the taste of meat depends on the size of the animal, with larger animals producing more delicious meat. This is probably due to the amount of fat they contain.

I searched the entire area for another monster, but I was unable to find anything. I decided to return to my shelter and continue my research.

I learned that there are several types of magical creatures, each with unique abilities. For example, there are a few types of monster that can manipulate fire, one type that can summon lightning, and some that can control water.

Some contained poison, though it was not difficult to remove. It was just boring. The more time I spent removing the poison, the less time I would have for important issues in the house. The poison varied from monster to monster, some had paralyzing poisons and some had deadly poisons.

Since I have no idea what these skills actually do, I decided to observe them and see if I could figure out how to use them.

For now, I hope to discover new ways to improve my current abilities.

The fourth day was spent improving my shelter, I was able to strengthen it.

The fourth day was spent improving my shelter, I was able to strengthen it. I was also able to secure all of my belongings in a safe place.

This process took longer than I anticipated, but I think it was worth it. Now that I have everything I need, I can focus solely on my research.

At this point, I was able to gather enough materials to create a longbow, arrows, a quiver, and a dagger.

By the end of the day, my shelter had begun to look like something presentable, instead of just a pile of random stones.

On my fifth day, I had the easiest time hunting, since my shelter was already good. I only had to worry about hunting until that wasn't an issue.

It seemed like I had a knack for finding the biggest and strongest animals around. I killed three pigs, six rabbits, and eight birds today.

After eating my fill, I decided to go back to my shelter and see what else I could discover.

I didn't find anything new, so I continued my search. I was able to locate two new types of plants, one that provides me with wood, and the other that produces fruit. These would both prove useful in the future.

I spent the rest of the day trying to improve my bow's ability to hit targets.

After a month, I was able to establish a quiet lifestyle in a cozy shelter, waking up in the morning to hunt and then taking care of other housework in the afternoon. In the evening, I would prepare food and organize my house.

The only thing I was missing was someone to share this with, since a giant part of my day was spent dealing with boredom.

***

I haven't seen any signs of life in the past week, which means I may be alone in this world.

I've been working hard on my shelter, making sure it's always kept clean and tidy. Hunting has become thanks of my improved abilities.

I know the basics of how to make tools, weapons, and armor, which is helpful. However, I don't know where to start when it comes to using magic.

I'm lucky that I have been able to find so many different sources of materials, but I still have to walk almost two miles just to get to the closest source.

One day, I heard screams coming from the direction of the forest, my life followed this rhythm.

For the first time in months, I would see a person.

"Oh my goodness!"

I'll be right there.

I am perplexed as to why she is screaming in such a desperate way in this peaceful forest. It doesn't make sense, but I need to act fast.

When I arrived at the scene, I saw a girl with cat ears, which was somewhat surprising. However, it was nothing that I could not get used to, and a small monster that I was able to get rid of without any difficulty.

"I am begging you, please help me."

She looked very afraid, which made her situation even worse. She had no weapon, and the monster was huge, easily ten feet tall.

"Why is there so much yelling?" I asked.

"A hostile entity assaulted us."

"What kind of an entity?" I asked.

"It is called a Slothur."

"So, why did it attack you? Doesn't it eat people?"

"No, it attacked because we were trespassing, and it wanted to protect its territory."

"Can I kill it with my bow?"

"Yes, it is a target worthy of a shot, but it is too far away. You will need to get closer

With my knowledge, I was able to locate and kill him with just one arrow..

"Thank you so much! I promise to repay your kindness. What shall I call you?" she asked.

"Adam."

"It didn't seem strong at all." I said.

"Everyone in the carriage was killed by him."

For some reason, she began to tear up after that.

Even if it was a weak monster that attacked her, the attack must have still affected her greatly.

It took her some time to stop crying, and she hid her neck when she realized she was crying.

"I apologize. I apologize, I didn't mean to be rude."

"Excuse me, what are you sorry about?" I asked.

"You shouldn't have saved me, I'm a runaway slave."

"What do you mean by that?"

"That chain," she indicated her neck, "My owner died while I was trying to escape, and now I'm a fugitive."

"So, what is the problem with this chain around your neck?" I asked.

"It sounds simple, but the item is enchanted, so I cannot remove it."

"I believe I can."

I used the same concept I use to break stones, so the chain broke in two and the girl was released.

"Are you alright?"

"Thank you, thank you!"

She hugged me tightly as if she was terrified that I might disappear.

The girl began to cry again.

"I want to thank you for freeing me from slavery."

"It was nothing, I simply destroyed that current."

"Please, allow me to pay you back somehow."

"You should head back home, it is dangerous to stay here."

"I can't. My previous owner has hired a bounty hunter to track me down."

"Who hired them?"

"Her name is Medusa, she is a very powerful woman, and they are going to try to kill me."

"I don't think you need to worry about that."

"But I have nowhere to go."

I have no idea who Medusa is, but I want to help her out.

"Now that you are free unless you would like to come to my shelter, I say goodbye."

"No, please wait, I will accompany you."

"Alright, let's go then."

I took her back to my house.
